Because we need them for y’know breathing and smelling. If we had only one and you caught a cold you’d have a much harder time breathing because the passageway to y’know give oxygen would be blocked off. Granted sometimes both get clogged up during colds but sometimes one of them is at least functioning enough to work. Plus having one would look really silly.
