gaming Gaming Pick-Ups Thread.

The SNES was $13, the Gameboy lot was $8. I think the blank cart is Sonic Advance, but it has Kanji subtitles on the menus so I'm not sure. It might be an import or a bootleg.

Shadows of the Damned is freaking awesome

It's a game I've wanted since it was announced. Just never got around to actually buying it. lol

I second that. I picked it up for $8 a while back and loved it for how cheesy is was.

Damn it, we need more cheesy action games like SoTD, Eat Lead, and Duke Nukem.

I totally forgot this thread existed. lol

I got Still Life 2 and Torchlight from GoG's flash sale. I have no money so I had to settle for the freebies. Probably gonna boot up my other laptop later and try them out.

I got all three of them, plus a forth adventure game at Wal-Mart for $10 via this collection. I haven't given it much attention yet because the first game didn't grab me the first time I gave it a shot.

Not exactly a pick-up and more of a discovery, but I remembered this thread and wanted to revive it, so check out what I found in my grandma's closet!

Sorry about the terrible quality. What you're seeing is an Atari 5200 with the game "Countermeasure" inside of it. I'm going to hook this dinosaur up later and play some retro 2600 and 5200 games.

Did you figure out 2600 games don't work in a 5200?

Picked up a few new games:

Project X-Zone for 3DS. Because crossover + SRPG =

project-x-zone-cover.jpg

Aquapazza for PS3. Another crossover game, but fighter this time. It takes characters from anime done by the Aquaplus company and pits them against each other. So far I've only seen one of the anime; Utewarerumono.

Note: These are not my images. Just got them off of a search engine.

@@Starlighty also got Batman: Arkham City so I can play that as well. I have't played Asylum yet though.

Got WWE '13 and Last Story

No pic though since I'm too lazy

Also my Wii conviniently died on me right when I get a job, so hopefully I'll get a Wii U sometime in August

You got a job too? I just got one last week, start this week as long as the background check goes through quick enough.

Wii-U is my next console as well. Helluva coinkidink, eh?

Good deals today

Armored Core(PS1, CIB) $3
Naughty Bear: Gold Edition(CIB, 360) $8
Last of Us(CIB, I think) $8
GTA5(CIB) $8

No clue WHO in the their right mind would sell a new release that GS is probably still giving $25 for to the pawnshop, but yeah.

I loved the first Armored Core. Haven't really played the series since that one. I have AC4 now thanks to a friend but haven't played all that much of it. Every time I start it I turn it off within minutes. It just hasn't grabbed me yet.

Holy shit! They have dante as in dmc dante? I must get a 3ds right now!

Among many, many others. You'll see characters from Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Ghosts'n'Goblins, Tekken, Street Fighter, Resonance of Fate and Megaman as well as many more obscure games like Gods Eater and Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier.

If you want a cameo game, you might like it, but overall the game is pretty muddy. Yeah, that's the best I can describe it. It tries too hard to be a fighting or hack'n'slash game while also trying to be a strategy game and the best they can pull off is shoving 40+ enemies at your team of 15-20 units forcing you to sit through every single enemy and ally's turn for several minutes before you can get back to the first person's turn again.

The game is far more flash than strategy and gets repetitive quickly but if that's your thing then go for it.

My family used my 13th birthday to snuffle in a Wii under our telly four years ago. So it was a sort of semi-present. I wasn't particularly enamoured about it, but used it for a little while with my sis (especially bowling on Wii Sports). Nowadays it doesn't interest me and I haven't played it in years, but I got a component cable for better quality and intend to get some Gamecube games for it.

Generally, I haven't bought any games since last summer (Rayman Origins for PS3, and Rayman 3 for PS2). Shoulda got the GC version of the latter game, but anyway. Haven't played those in ages also.

The 3DS is quite the handheld. I need to get more games for it myself. I only have six physical and two digital games.

I got Alpha Protocol

Digital Devil Saga

Digital Devil Saga 2

Once again, not my own images.

I love AP and DDS1. Obviously I haven't played 2 yet cuz I'm still in the middle of the first. :P

Out of all the SMTs I've played DDS is probably my favorite, even if I am only eight hours into it. It does so many things right both gameplay- and story-wise.

I haven't gotten them yet but I just ordered six games off Amazon a few days ago.

Project Sylpheed: Arc of Deception

Otomedius Excellent

Akai Katana

Rise of the Argonauts

Blades of Time

MorphX

Edit: It would seem all the images I posted broke so I'm taking them out.

I got all of these for around $70 after shipping and tax and all that. I've heard Rise of the Argonauts is getting rare so the fact that I got it for like 90% off at $5 is a great deal.

I also got Anarchy Reigns recently and I love the shit out of it. Didn't know it was a sequel to Mad World until after I got it though. I haven't played Mad World yet.

Picked up this beauty for $25

img-3096371-1-Xenoblade_box_artwork.png

Damn, that's a great price. I had to pay $80 to get someone to buy and ship it to me.

An even better game to have now that Shulk is in Smash Bros.

I never beat the game but I never found Shulk to be all that great. Dunban's where it's at!

Discordian casts Revive!

Gaming Pick-ups was revived!

---

I just ordered a few games off Amazon yesterday.

Tales of Graces F - I've always been a fan of the Tales series and I heard this one has a particularly good story. I almost went with Xillia 2 so I could finish off that saga but this had a better sale.

Atelier Rorona - I've wanted to get into the Atelier series for awhile now. I was gonna get Meruru cuz I heard a song from the game but that's actually the third in the Arland trilogy so I went with Rorona first. Plus I have a friend who's playing that one and I wanna be able to talk with them about it.

Between the last time I replied here and now, I've gotten Bayonetta 2, Smash U, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, and SM3DLand

I've heard Radiant Dawn is both rare and not worth how expensive it is. Did you manage to get it for cheap or did you think the price was worth it? In the case you've played it, did you enjoy it? I heard there was some pretty weird things about it, things that shouldn't have happened if the events of Path of Radiance are anything to go by.

I actually traded a couple of games for it, and then only had to play $3 for it. Personally from what I've heard it's actually really good, and so far I've been enjoying it
