Twilight is my favorite too. To me, her personality is similar to mine so I feel as though I relate to her more. BUT, that doesnt mean I can't love the others right? Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are two of my favorites of the Mane 6 as well.

 

As for background characters, I like Doctor Whooves. Probably because I'm a Doctor Who fan. c:

Pinkie Pie, I relate to her irl because we both are friendly with new people and I enjoy parties. We're both also a tad weird! I volunteer at my church and I'm always going around saying hello to the kids and giving out highfives.

My favorite is Fluttershy, mainly because I've always been a really quiet and shy person but she also reminds me of a character my younger self would love. Not just her personality but her cute and pretty design would have appealed to me as a kid. I'm always getting lost in groups of people, and when I speak I often go unheard and almost always people take what I say but say it louder and get the credit for it. 

But I also have a massive liking for Pinkie Pie her character inspires me to open up and have a bit more fun. Though I like my quiet nature it's always good to go a little crazy and have people look at you funny.

It's hard for me to pick an all time favorite so here's a list of my favorites in no particular order: Cutie Mark Crusaders, Derpy, Dr. Whooves, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Luna, Lyra, Bon Bon, Celestia, Pinkie Pie, Vinyl Sctatch, Big Macintosh, Cheerile, Flash Sentry, and Sunset Shimmer (SPIOLER ALERT: she becomes good at the end of the movie)

But I can't stand Snips, Snails, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Trixie, Teacher's Pet, Filthy Rich, and most of the celebrities.

My favorit pony is Pinkie Pie, first I thought that she is a bit annoying but her optimistic nature is kind of infective, almost like a virus.

And as I heard the smile song for the first time the deal was sealed Pinkie is my best pony forever.

My favorit background pony's are Princess Luna and Lyra.

Lyra because the fan made animations with her are always something to laugh and Princess Luna in season 2 the moment when her cape turned into bats, I mean how heavy metal is that.
