A bit of both. It's become a hive of hypocritical people who take pride in and identify with all sorts of dubious causes and identities, and more power to them for their WTFery but they then feel the need to look down on others who are... more normal and functioning, which is just... eh. On the other hand a lot of my friends use it and the more pleasant elements of Tumblr are intelligent and inspiring to be around.

So once again it's like life. Love it and hate it.

I like it, simply for the freedom it provides. Lots of people are annoying and rant-y. But overall I like it. :)

I dunno enough about it to judge it, really, but I've heard tons of negative things about it

Might need to check it out someday, when I'm not being lazy :D

Was the Rarity image really necessary?

I don't go into the "weird" or NSFW area of Tumblr....just as I avoid the strangeness of Youtube. Thus i don't see what is saying, but I know it's there. I guess that's what you get with such open ended sites, both good and bad as far as the users of Tumblr.

I do like the simplicity of Tumblr as far as customization goes. It was really easy and quick to personalize my Tumblr without much trouble. I have tried a few other popular blog sites, but Tumblr is just one that works best for me.

So, yea, I like Tumblr...But I don't particularly like the user base, but then again, I can follow who I want to and ignore the rest.

BTW, Rarity is ALWAYS necessary :D

I love it especially as I usually have it open in a new tab at all times. As long as you stick to the fandom side of Tumblr and avoid the more 'rant-y' areas, you're bound to enjoy it at least a little bit.

Eh. I was trying to find a picture of Rarity being lazy to go with that last line :D

It doesn't feel right to leave a 2-sentence response as an answer to a topic of this nature, so I like to throw pictures in on my shorter posts :D I usually have better luck finding them, though.

I don't love of hate, I'm more of in the middle.

But leaning of the side of love, so I'll go with it. ^^

Some Tumblr accounts are pretty interesting.

I know about every Brony knows about Princess Molestia and Gamer Luna.

It's just fun to see what can come out of a person's head. ^^

Its a pretty cool way to blog and its a great way to see cool visual humor and nice artwork.

Biggest issues"

O its social activist hell with a bunch of people being hypocritical and knee jerking when they could be more unified and supportive.

O So much dumb stuff reblogged

O People dont tag stuff nsfw (when it comes to rule 34)

Other then that its a great way to see what memes, artwork, and other conversations are happening.

This as well. The funny thing is all the people who bash on fandoms for having rule 34 of whatever, but have openly accessible porn blogs of their own.

Tumbler would be totaly awesome if it weren't for this reason. Now, I absolutely love tumblr, and honestly I wouldn't realy care if rule 34 popped up every now and then, but when it popps up AT THE TOP OF EVERY SEARCH I DO FOR EVERYTHING (ponies, Pokemon, Sonic, etc.) It gets realy annoying!!!!! Especialy when you use it in class.

Honestly i dont know why tumblr doesnt fix this. One of the things you do when you create an account is you set up your blog as nsfw or not. If you tag it nsfw that should mean you shouldn't show up in general searches (ie "applejack"). If you do a "nsfw applejack" then i think you should show up in those results if you are a nsfw blog because you are getting them what they want. It's not rocket science but it doesn't work that way evidentally.....If you post porn on a sfw blog you should get warnings and eventual deletion.

I can't really say I hate it, but I'm not a fan of it

I've tried to use it multiple times and it's very confusing

I also don't see much of a point in it

so I sort of just ignore it's existence now hahaha

I'm absolutely obsessed with tumblr! God, the fandoms, the content! You never get bored! I can't remember how many times genius has been on that website.

(Thank you, photoshop side of tumblr)

Sure, tumblr has It's weirdos and It's NSFW, but it is a highly diverse content sharing blogging website. Seriously, why are you upset and surprised of the occasional content? It's nothing to hate the site for. You can easily just block or NOT follow content that shares stuff you don't like.

I have a blast on it regardless of how shitty my day was.

It was a lot better a couple years ago before everything become over-run with insanely hateful and ignorant Social Justice Warriors and brony hate exploded into a massive thing.

Tumblr's weird. You've got this side to it that's full of silly gifs and laughing and joy and the other side that's this nasty guilt tripper who wants to hate you for being happy with your opinions. But I find it invaluable for the first half of things, especially as someone who has a massive bookmarks folder of gifs on her computer.

I think Tumblr is good for building an audience because unlike Facebook, people actually see every post you make (not just 1/5th of your followers). Tumblr has A LOT of p0rn, you don't even need to look for it either. One the other hand Tumblr also has a lot of blogs that are nothing but people reposting a newly viral gif or captioned image that has been posted on a 1000 other blogs before with the occasional minor adjustment

If I wanted to see an endless stream of people posting stupid viral images and gifs with captions all day every day I'd go to 4chan..

So yeah Tumblr has some issues, but I think it has a lot of potential, I've even customized the code of my Tumblr blog slightly to personalise it so I can't complain too much.

For me it is mainly hate, with a tad bit of respect on how crazy the whole fucking place has gotten. It is filled to the brim with the most special of special snowflakes, and is the one of the stomping grounds for the identity politics currently killing the political left. A place were no one is normal, gender is a fluid, and the more oppressed you are, the more reblogs you get.

Don't get me wrong, I do indeed like Tumblr, but the abundance of extremists and "social justice warriors" is just...irritating, to say the least. I mean seriously, there are so many people who claim to be feminists, but then claim that women are superior to men. Congratulations, you went from "activist" to hypocrite in under 2 seconds.

Most of the LGBT+ side is fine, but some are annoying.

You are not superior to all straight people because you're gay/bi/pan/ace.

You are not superior to all cisgendered people because you are trans/genderqueer.

Maybe I'm just rambling on, I do like Tumblr overall. But the ignorant and stupid are frustrating, just like anywhere else.

Well, and it doesn't do the site good to have those SJW now be the poster child for tumblr. Every day I hear of more and more people avoiding that site due to the toxic nature of the SJW plague that infects it. Which is a shame, before the identity politics and SJW ruined the site, it was a fairly decent place to see new artwork.
