The fact that it was a moonless night made it impossible for them to read the compass. Relying on instinct and some bravado, the group braved the darkness without a word being said. After what seemed like an eternity of trekking through the forest path, the came to a halt next to a lake to catch their breath. It was at this moment that the moon chose to show itself, as if Princess Luna saw their struggles and decided to help them out. While the rest of the group sat around the campfire, the princess stood at the shores of the lake, pondering on what to expect when they find the gate. "How to close the gate...how to close the gate...hey, anypony here have any clue on how to close a Tartarus Gate? I vaguely remember a court mage telling me about some sort of stone that keeps the gate open but I wanna confirm it," the princess called out to the group. Once he was out of his commander's vigilant gaze, he had loosened up greatly. "We'll have to check the area around it and then enter it if we find no way on our side. "Just keep your eyes peeled and stay alert -" The princess stopped mid-sentence when she saw a dark glow coming from the north. The glow seemed rater unnatural and it reached towards the sky like a water jet. "I think we may have found our gate. Go towards that dark glow."
