Opposite Gender Pet Peeves

Adorkable

I'm curious...how did you determine you are "80% gay"? Did you perform a head count of "number of men I've been attracted to vs. number of women" and the ratio was 4 to 1?

No such need for a literal translation :3 It's just a rounded percentage I use for the fact that I lean fairly heavily towards guys in my bisexuality :P

I'm not saying that ALL boys do this because my brother and friend's brother are cool but I hate it when some boys think it's weird if a girl likes minecraft and stuff like that. AGAIN I'm not saying that all boys do this.

Something that drives me insane is when some boys call each other girly or gay if they have certain interests that are viewed by society as feminine. A boy might say  "Dude, that hat is SO gay!" From this example, I highly doubt they even know what the word means! How can a hat have a sexual preference? An example of when a boy might call another girly or gay is, ohh! great example, if they like my little pony. How is liking my little pony gay? Seriously! Where is this coming from?

Please note: This does not refer to all boys. Only the ones that do this sort of thing.

It's important to make note that when we talk about such things, we're usually talking about either personal experiences, stereotypes or a little of both. None of it is meant to be truly umbrella statements.

That said, I hate when women take something you said and twist it in their minds to mean something else. If I said it, that's how I meant it to be heard. There is no alternative meaning behind it.

Another thing that gets me:

*Sigh*

"What's wrong?"

"Oh nothing."

"Bullshit, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing."

:okiedokielokie: One does not sigh randomly all the fraggin' time.

This whole post. Being unclear or unspecific is one of my biggest pet peeves, regardless of gender. I'm probably the last person who should be talking, though, because I definitely appreciate the fact that not everything is boolean, black or white, yes or no, etc. It can feel like this though. There's more to it than you'd otherwise think.

If anything, the pet peeve with the opposite gender I would have is that there is somehow a notion that if they feel unsatisfied, they are allowed to wander outside the boundaries of monogamy and seek their satisfactions elsewhere. But that isn't allowed for the other party. It feels very self-serving.

I hate how most guys think that girls can't be badasses at videogames. I get called a noob just because imma gurl. like wtf dudes. lolol. but then again, I hate pretty much everything that females do, so...achoo.

Well, generally people think that females aren't very common in the gamer category...I mean, it's a bit unusual to think of a girl playing a game while spamming the computer keys or console buttons.

Ummmm . . . too pretty, I guess? Honestly I have no problem with women that can't be attributed to individual discrepancy rather than the gender as a whole, which seems unfair and fruitless to begin with.

Who says that?

Samus Aran is one of the biggest legends in gaming history!

The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of the most important characters in that franchise and lead a squad of super-powered teammates while having none of her own. (Which actually sounds a lot like Mina from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.)

Chell is the female version of Gordon Freeman who destroyed a rogue A.I. armed with something that barely qualifies as a weapon!

Jaina Prodmoore, the only sane leader in the Alliance who hoped for peace with the Horde, while still being one of the most powerful living spell casters. (WoW)

I could go on, but I think you get my point. Being female doesn't disqualify a character for being badass in my book!

Ultrafeminism. (aka LIBERAL XTREME BRAINWASH 2 DA MAXX)

eg. MEN ARE PIGS. KILL THEM ALL.

Women that do that don't deserve to use the same air other women do.

Manipulation. Tears. Overexaggeration. Extreme sensitivity to peer pressure. Blackmail. (ooh, they sure are good at that).

And to the people that say masculine isn't guns and muscles and cars and beer and sports, I call BULLSHIT.

Men were created to hunt and kill and feed their families. Thats where the guns and muscles and testosterone come in. Sports are a way to let off energy, and beer is... well... fucking awesome. This is especially true with Slavs like me. We're somewhat fatter but we're stronger, everyone is obsessed with football and basketball, auto enthusiasts are everywhere and beer is consumed by the liter. Women here are mostly stay-at-home wives who cook and teach the children. That's the way it's been for a long time and I think that's the way it should be.

On behalf of If-there-was-a-girl-version-of-me, I think it's disgusting and annoying how many men are A-ok with porn.

(Not that I'm okay with girls having porn either. I just think the whole smack is a waste.)

Guys:

- When they whistle at girls that walk by

- When their pants hang down low enough to get a full view of their underpants (they're called underpants for a reason)

- When they think they're stronger then girls and won't let them do any of the work that involves hard labour

Girls (Yes I have some things to say about my own gender):

- When they whine and complain to get what they want

- Make-up

- Claiming that girls can't do hard work because they are too delicate

- Delicate little things who can't get dirty or the world might end

When guys spit on the ground where I'm walking.  I'm sure some girls maybe do it, but I've only seen it from guys.

When guys come over to our house that is mostly girls and leaves the toilet seat up.  Come on now, you're the only person who needs it up, please put it back down when you're done.

Commenting me about my body and things they they want from me when I'm out walking or waiting for the bus.  That's freaking creepy, go away.

Super 'masculine' guys who think they're hunters and have to take care of us poor little womenfolk.  No, just no.

Guys who have a problem with feminism.  Girls who are really into that usually have had some kind of bad experiences in the past, and you being mean about it is not going to make them change their minds.

The guys who think it's gross when girls don't shave.  If you think body hair is so gross, then YOU shave.

Guys who think it's gross when girls burp or fart or whatever.  If I find out you hate that, I'm going to make sure to do it in front of you.

This does not appeal to all guys, trust me, but I'm genuinely just a bit sad over, how some guys need to cover up to hide the fact their feelings. There was a video about a guy who got raped and he laughed and joked, but it was his only way to cover up how horrible and painful he felt. I also don't like how some tell others to 'man up', because you have right to be sad and let your feelings be, without having some to tell you '' You're a guy, man up, don't cry. '' I'm a girl and I don't think I live up to any of the 'ideals' of how a girl should behave in public, and being asian is worse because people expect you to get straight A's and I'm long from that, especially having a GPA on about 2,3. Here is 2 vidoes that really changed my perspective on how I saw the opposite gender.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc45-ptHMxo#t=47

I'm also myself hugely guilty of making fun of my guy friend and tease him about being a little more feminine, but screw it, he's adorable despite being freaking frustrating person. And the truth is I know some really cool guys that for example are vegetarian and pescestarian, in to save the environment and really sweet, and others that aren't as bad as they look, but because of something called pride they can't be themselves.

I'm annoyed with how distracted girls can be by shiny objects. I know women who will run off while you're in the middle of talking to them to go talk to a complete stranger about their jewelry.

When women screech at the top of their lungs when they're excited

When women poke and prod me for an answer they want to hear instead of the answer I want to give. Yes I'm bucking sure! Stop asking!

For girls, Jesus Christ, I hate it when girls put on all that make up. I find myself thinking "Are you trying to look like a clown?". If they want to look like a clown, fine by me, even in every day life but really, doing it to look pretty just isn't working. Also, shopping. Why do you care so much about your clothes that it warrants two hours of deciding between this pink blouse or this slightly lesser pink blouse?Who freaking cares?

I'm not saying this applies to all girls. Just the stereotypical girls.

For boys, I don't see why one of the most common phrases that comes out of a boy's mouth is "Dude! I can't hit a girl!". Girls are the same as boys when it comes to hitting or whatever. The only difference is that girls have two floppy things on their chest and no floppy thing in their crotch. That's about it. Society doesn't count on this one. If it's a step towards gender equality, then hit me with your best shot. Also, pull up your freaking pants! You should not have to be told this! Nobody wants to see you boxers.

This also doesn't apply to all boys, just some of them.

One thing some guys do that really annoys me is when they laugh at you when you're arguing with them. Most of the time it's not big laughter to drown out your argument (the bigger jerks do that), but often times it's really subtle mannerisms. Like the kind of smile you'd give a child with an opinion on an adult topic they're too young to understand? I mean, dude, just because I don't have a stinkin' dingly dongly doesn't mean you can ignore my arguments. I respected you enough to listen respectfully; least you could do is return the gesture.

I find it weird how women say "sorry" even when they don't really need to. I understand if it's an apology, but if they're passing me while walking or trying to ask a question, I don't see why it's all that necessary. I see it as trying too hard to be nice. Maybe it doesn't count as a pet peeve, but I'm still gonna mention it.

I also don't like how some take a conversation that really shouldn't concern them and/or their needs, but still try to make it about them. It's like their coercing people to discuss things about themselves. I can't stand people in general shifting the goalposts of a conversation, but I suppose both genders can be guilty of that.

I hate that (mostly stereotypical) girls seem to put make up on and wear the latest "trends and fashion" just because they care about others opinions.

Also when a girl wears something like a see-through top and short shorts and moans when guys look at her.

Let's see....

When guys leave the toilet seat up....

When guys obsess over their video games and therefore don't pay their girlfriend enough attention. :nom:

When guys leave their room or a room an unorganized disaster.

I could think of more but I sound like a nitpicky wife. :ButtercupLaugh:
