Hi Spimbiddy.    It's always nice to have a Fluttershy fan join the ranks.  The only tips I have for newcomers is be yourself and be patient.  There is no need for facades or to be a phony here.  And it takes a little time for other members to get to know you.  But once that happens you'll be making new friends left and right.
