I believe it will be the better version because it will have a longer lasting audience. Not only will people be able to use their machines to play it better but they will be able to do what ever they want to to the game.

I played it on 360 and the pop in was just terrible. I couldn't fly planes because sometimes Trees wouldn't load in until I had crashed into them and exploded. The terrain and roads ahead of me could not be made out if I drove in a fast enough car, making me limit my self to what car I would use.

It objectively is because PC have the capability to handle more demand from programs... unless for some reason you prefer lower framerates and worse graphics. So yes I think PC is the best way to experience games because games aren't restricted to a fixed system specs (that and if the game is actually optimized well very unlike Ghosts and I heard GTAIV for PC has optimization issues as well). That being said, I wouldn't call myself a fanboy because I don't denounce people for playing on consoles.

Well that's not really the fault of the "fanboys". Blame the console developers for not allowing mods for taking that away from console gamers. As the others have stated the PC version usually is best, if only because you can modify it and because a modern computer is capable of being more powerful than consoles. This isn't to say that consoles are objectively terrible. Until recently, I mainly played video games on consoles (as do all of my friends).

 

 

 

 

Dolphin works with a 360 pad. I just have it configured as a Gamecube controller and since the Gamecube controller can be used for Brawl I use that. As soon as I get a Bluetooth adapter I will be able to use Wiimotes as well.

Sadly patches cannot work around the hardware limitation of the consoles. The only way to improve the Xbox version of GTA V would be to release (re-release?) it on the Xbox One.

Yes, but that doesn't fix everything. The pop in with the trees and the road ahead are caused by hardware limitations. The Xbox 360 and PS3 only have 512MB of Ram and 256MB respectively. That is impressive that they were able to run a game that big, but that is why there are low resolution textures and lots of pop in in the game. The game will be better on more powerful systems. If it gets the Xbone/PS4/PC release it will be clear, but the PC version will come out on top.

Yes, but there where cutbacks somewhere, either Map-size, Resolution, or Frame-rate.  The Textures seem to be where they focused their efforts.

Yes it was, rather fun game too. However Halo 4 and GTA V are entirely different games. Halo 4 was able to look as good as it did because it didn't have "as much going on" (IE the physics and many other things and processes going on behind the scenes that you only see the results of) are far less than what GTA V requires. 

 

I never really had many problems on my PS3 but as CrazyClay (I think it was CrazyClay, too lazy to go back and check) stated trees were popping into existence well after they should have. Which means that the graphics cards and CPU were most likely straining to keep up. It almost sounds like the 360 was "Thrashing" in a way.

Yes, it does not fix everything. But rockstar will give more and more patches. But The limitation does not distract most gamers.

Console business has a legacy, why do people only want PC? Is it only the graphics and frame rate? Then your just a pixel hunter and always want to play the game rather than playing it for fun.

Plus why do you want mods? To make the game better? It's already good enough! You don't play games because they have mods, or really good graphics. You play games because you want to have fun. Plus GTA V in console is not 720p! Yes it is 30fps but I don't think it's 720p

So please understand. Maybe you enjoy the game one day in its natural state

That is a very skewed concept of what PC gamers are about when we say improved graphics, frame rate and mods.

 

 

-we like the improved frame rate and textures, it helps make the game play a whole lot better and look prettier making immersion that much nicer. I own MULTIPLE games on both my PS3 and PC and every time I play the PC version, I can't go back to my console version as easily because 60fps makes a huge difference compared to 30fps. 

 

-Mods are something PC players like to do because mods add to the game making it last a lot longer giving more bang for your buck, see Skyrim for a perfect example of this

 

I also did say upscaled 720p, not native 720p, there is a difference.

I hate to be that guy, but as long as you have a sufficiently powerful computer, PC gaming is just better. Graphics are better, patches are easier to distribute, not to mention that there are often fanmade patches that come out earlier than then official ones. There are also often fan patches that fix way more than the official ones (looking at you, Bethesda).

And of course, mods. Don't like something about the game? No problem, mod it. I love Morrowind, but it always bugged me that Poison magic is useless because it costs more than other damaging magic and is resisted by more enemies (not to mention "cure poison", a magic effect specifically for countering poison), so I made a mod that buffs it considerably, making it a solid choice for a mage, especially in the early game (plenty more late game enemies and NPCs resist it).

 

 

Actually, I think s/he meant the PC Legacy games....like "I Have No Mouth and I must Scream" or "Mech Warrior 4: Mercenaries". Or the Gabriel Knight games...or the Descent games. PC gaming has just as rich and storied a history as console games.

 

Those are all really good games (I assume, I actually never played Super Mario Galaxy) but mods can keep a game alive far longer than the vanilla (unmodded) game ever could. People are still modding older games like The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and thus are keeping them alive. Plus modding by itself can make games far better. I hated Skyrim (I'm a Morrowind fanboy) and the only thing that keeps me from deleting it are the mods....otherwise I'd be suffering from total buyer's regret.

Unfortunately not all PC gamers are like that, but those who just shout "PC MASTER RACE LOL PEASANTS" and are completely serious should be rejected by the PC community as a whole. We should not associate ourselves with these people.

1. Why do PC gamers want it? Because nobody is looking forward to pay for a console and then for a game on this console just to stop using it after You finish such game. And they still want to play this game. So obviously best thing for them would be releasing it on PC. Besides some people like me suck at using controler and this fact alone makes it better for me to use PC. Not everyone owns a console and not everyone wants to own it. This is fact. 

2. Income from selling this game has nothing to do with the topic. We don't care about how much Rockstar got for game by now. We care about GTA V released on PC. 

3. Some people are already starting this stupid war between PC and consoles. So let me clear this up: PC is not superior over consoles. And vice versa. Everyone who says otherwise is ignorant. What's Your problem with someone using different gaming platform? Is it REALLY that important if I play on PC or xbox? I don't think so.

Speaking of Mechwarrior 4 (definitely my favorite of the series) I tried installing it after I made that post....I keep getting an "Your hardware is not compatible" message. I've gotten it to work on my computer before (I had to wipe the hard drive clean.) and now it won't work. Any ideas?

Just for the record if someone is bragging about how awesome their computer is and how its "so much better" than consoles, chances are they will have far more than 2 gigs of RAM. Besides both of the new consoles have 8 gigs of DDR5.
