Things You DON'T Want to See in Season 5?

Season 5 time,which means us critics will list everything they never hope to see in an episode ever.I'll go first.

 

STOP FLANDERIZING PINKIE PIE!

She has so much character potential,but than I see an episode where she's flanderized and I flip a table.

Echh. I think she's only being Flanderized in episodes where she's not the focus, honestly; "Maud Pie" and "Pinkie Pride" were two of the best episodes of the season, and she was Flanderized in neither of them. 

 

However, in nearly every other episode she had, I was getting somewhat itchy with her portrayal coming across as a one-dimensional comic relief type thing. She's much more than that, but it didn't appear like that in many of the episodes where she didn't have a major role, notably the season premiere and "Three's a Crowd," in my opinion

No more flanderizing Pinkie Pie and Spike: Pinkie Pie was much better in season 4 than 3 with some great episodes but the rest of her this season has been plagued with the same problems we saw in season 3 of her character being dumbed down to the point where it is insulting. Pinkie Apple Pie and Maud Pie is some of the best Pinkie Pie I have seen since season 2, she has her random silly side but is also an interesting and deep character in both episodes so writers please take notes from your fellow staff who wrote those episodes, that is how you write Pinkie Pie. And why is Spike the butt of every joke? I get that he has his doofus side but the intelligent and thoughtful side from season 1 and 2 seems to be almost completely gone and I want it back.

 

No more obviously our of character moments: since when has Spitfire resorted to lies and cheating? I am not saying she is perfect but this is a rather drastic contradiction to her previous appearances that was obviously done for plot convenience and Applejack being an occasional worry wart makes sense but Somepony To Watch Over Me was so excessive and unbelievable that it falls under the category of out of character as well.

 

No more overuse of deus ex machina: yes I get that this series has had it since the beginning but it has become so overused that the show seems to beat us over the head with it at every opportunity.

 

No more rushed last minute changes that make no sense:

Pinkie Pie is more than just a comic relief for the sake of comedy or moments where she is downright intimidating, but the episodes where she isn't the focus could say the opposite. I love Pinkie, but I hope they fix the flaunderization in the next season.

My stand point on the way they have exploited Pinkie Pie, made her out to be unknowingly intimidating, in attitude and through actions. They REALLY tried to strip her character in Filli Vanilli.

1. NO Sparity (Spike x Rarity) shipping plot lines.

 

2. Hasbro using the show completely marketing tool even though that is the corporate goal of the show.

Don't make any attempt to pander to shippers, stay away from that at all costs...at least when it comes to the mane 6 ffs.

Throw in one or two more serious, kinda darker plots aside from the season finale. I mean, don't go overboard, but still change of pace and all that.

I went less of a lot of the things that were in S4. I want less ridiculous and over the top stories, I want less dumbing down of characters, and I don't want any more season-long plotlines, or at the very least I want less.

Less of the Crystal Empire.  They've had many chances to make it interesting, and they never have.

 

 

I'd rather have them visit Manehattan again, or Appleloosa, or Cloudsdale,.  The ponies there seemed more colorful and interesting.  The ponies in Rainbow Falls seemed interesting too, but the location itself is too similar to Ponyville to hold my attention.

- Shipping fuel. Don't encourage them, DHX!

- Characters being OOC for no reason (Right, Spitfire?)

- Cutie Mark Crusading. It's been so long I'm starting to not care (though I think the writers are sick of it too)

Things I don't wish to see in Season 5?

 

Well, I was heartbroken to see Twilight Sparkle barely singing in Season 4, so no more excluding Twilight Sparkle from the songs, please!

Since this sort of...changed? I'll repost
 

- Poor distribution of feature episodes (5 or 6 Rainbow Dash ones and just 1 or 2 Rarity ones)

 

- Vinyl Scratch (Things I hate more than anything are things that are overrated for no good reason - at least Derpy has a connection to the fandom because she's a shout out to us. Vinyl is just a DJ and nothing more, and I despise that.)

 

- Bad writing for my waifu (I'm looking at you, Season 3  :okiedokielokie: )

 

- A bunch of CMC episodes (One or two is enough...put some effort into it - those episodes are always just weak filler, it seems.)

 

- Last, but certainly not least, a two parter for both the season premiere and the season finale - I love "A Canterlot Wedding" and "Twilight's Kingdom" but I think there's so much more appeal and purity in "The Best Night Ever" - THAT'S what this show is all about, and I'd love to see another finale like that

This. I had to check the list of episodes that have Rarity in it and I say, I agree with ghostfacekiller39. There's small screentime for her and in the screentime, there's nothing useful. Besides, I wanna see more awesome Rarity moments in Season 5. She's my back up waifu after all 

 

OT:

-PP flanderization is okay, but please not to extreme like in FIlli Vanilli.

-Not so meaningful moral. I haven't see it now, but I hope S5 is not the mark of writers running out of ideas.
