Things you hate that everyone seems to love?

Here are several things that I hate but everyone else seems to love:

 

I.  Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.  I just find the character of Willie Scott to be painfully unbearable throughout the movie, several scenes are just downright stupid, and the 3rd act of the movie is too dark and grim with kids being beaten and begging for death.

II.  Fish.  There is just no way that I can eat any kind of fish without feeling sick.  However, I have enjoyed other seafood like lobster, shrimp, and fried clams.

III.  Iggy Azalea.  I just find her singing to be really ear-bleedingly obnoxious and I don't get what everyone else sees in her.

IV.  Iron Man 3.  The plot twist that Ben Kingsley wasn't the Mandarin I felt turned the character into a joke and the real Mandarin's backstory was literally copy and paste ripped off from The Incredibles.

V.  Xbox.  Sony and Nintendo have always been good to me.  Can't say the same for Xbox.

VI.  Brave and Big Hero 6.  I feel like these 2 movies are really overrated and didn't deserve to win the Best Animated Feature Oscar in their respective years when far better animated movies were released at the time.

VII.  The Mentalist.  I just feel like this TV Show's premise ripped off far better shows at the time, Psych and Monk.

VIII.  Coldplay.  I think this group is seriously overrated and are just a cheap ripoff of a far superior band, U2.  And I'm not the only one who thinks that.  My dad and some of my friends have voiced similar views.

IX.  WatchMojo.com.  The way I see it, WatchMojo.com is a lot like the Oscars for the following reasons:  I.  I very rarely ever agree with them,  II.  The leave me feeling really pissed off after watching them, and  III.  For some unknown reason, I keep going back to it.  It's essentially an abusive relationship.  I feel like they do really crappy research, don't give entries their proper placing, and oftentimes just do videos that seem really unnecessary.

 

And the one that's probably going to give me a whole lot of hate is...

 

X.  Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  My god do I despise this movie.  I grew up really enjoying the book, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, for multiple reasons and Willy Wonka, I feel, is a very unfaithful adaptation that I just can't understand why people like it as much as they do.  The original author of the book, Roald Dahl, even hated it to the point where he forbid the studio from producing a sequel based off of Charlie And The Great Glass Elevator (which I have admittedly never read as I didn't even know it existed) and since then, Dahl's estate has been really strict and stingy in regards to who they let make film adaptations of his work.

- The fact that people keep calling that thing a castle, instead of a palace.

- This idea that every villain is bad because they have a tragic past that somehow justifies everything, and they are misunderstood and deserve more brownie points than the good guys, that in fact are intolerant and bullies.

Wow I don't think I've ever heard anyone say this before... Superheroes are anything but boring.

 

I find them pretty boring, too... True, the superhero movies are full of action and special effects and they are enjoyable. But let's be honest here, they all pretty much tell the same story, just featuring different characters. Nothing to write home about.

Battle Royale's Manga: Where do I even start with this one? The original novel, despite my problems with it, was enjoyable with the newest translation of it.  One small problem though, nobody seems to remember the novel exists and they all refer to the manga as the "True version" of the story thanks to the author working on it and saying he got to add things to the manga that he didn't in the book. See, here's the thing about that, there might be a good reason that they didn't let you add those scenes. Things that were formerly subtle and and symbolic were shoved in your face, none of the characters look like teenagers, the original tokyo pop translation mistranslated so many things which later caused all of the hullabaloo with the Hunger Games coming out, it tries to be shocking on purpose but only succeeds at being laughable and instead of the grim realism the book tries to portray it goes all anime. This is by far my most despised adaptation of any book I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.  It's an adaptation that has caused so many issues and made so many people not understand a single thing about why the source material was good in the first place.

Otherwise: F*** off.  You're wasting my time and yours.  I either don't care what you have to say or I won't actually do anything with it.  I'm stubborn about some things; particularly creative things.  I don't understand why so many members of the fandom openly pursue criticism.  You're gonna get a dozen different opinions, and every single one of them is going to be entirely subjective.  What do you do with that?  I've never figured it out.

Alcohol: I  never saw the appeal in it, and plus it makes people do a lot of stupid things.

 

Marijuana: I just could never understand why so many people enjoy it for recreational uses, and it smells awful as well.

 

Anime: I just don't like it. I am not a fan of how there's little variety in art styles in the shows and I just grew tired of it.

Attack on Titan & Sword Art Online

I honestly think those 2 anime are poorly written, paired with cliche and subpar characters. I can somewhat forgive Sword Art Online only because the Aincrad Arc was the only memorable and half-decent arc of the story, and that I really enjoy the concept behind the anime itself. (100% Virtual Reality games) I can't say much for AoT, though. Everything about it is bland. Awfully colorless, imho. Too much brown, black, and blue.

Zombies - Everyone I know seems to love everything that have zombies, games, series, whatever, but I never liked zombies.

 

I was never a Zombie fan either.  When it comes to a game with undead creatures that I do like, I like the Necromorphs from Dead Space. 

 

Wine: I know it's supposed to be classy and everything but i find it disgusting tasting. If I need to drink Alcohol to be polite, give me a single malt Whiskey. 

 

 

Yeah, I've tried to drink it, it dries my mouth and taste's awful. Give me a Bourbon with honey, a Gentlemen Jack, or a Crown royal. I also like Hard Cider and those Henry's Hard Orange Sodas they just came out with. Beer is fine one in a while too, especially Blue Moon.   

Pop music.

 

I have hated it since I was an infant in the 80's. I hated it as I was growing up in the 90's. I loathed it in the 00's. And the music of this decade is just worse as they have given up all together.

 

It's always dumb repetition and idiotic sex appeal to mask that the song is crap and most often ripped off by someone else.

 

Most of these "stars" can't even sing, and most can't even dance! It's ALL auto-tune and effects.

 

The stuff I like (metal and goth) isn't perfect (except when it is), but even their weakest have fucking life to them. They put in passion and energy.

 

Pop is just bland flavour of the month garbage that keeps repeating itself and only succeeds as people are easily led morons who don't even fucking realise it but I see oh yes I see the truth and I'm a freak because it's painful to me to endure that plastic music!

And miming while a tape plays instead of preforming is unacceptable and SHOULD be a career killer. I have had idiots tell me that it doesn't matter if the manikins sing, it's okay to pay a fortune just to see them!

 

And don't get me started on that painfully bland mediocre trashy shit stain audio crime against humanity that was fecking ABBA may they suffer the agonies of a thousand forsaken souls lost in perdition and torment!

 

As you can see, my opinion on this matter is a strong one and I tend to get a little overboard in explaining my view.

I hear you, every word of it!   Personally, I love Rock, especially the older stuff and Metal.  Pink Floyd Especially!

 

one thing that really annoys me is when a Classic Rock artist  like Styx, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, Rush or Pink Floyd  is labeled as "Pop/Rock".
