  1. Merry Birthiversary!

  2. Vincent's house was located near the end of the culdesac, in a house that was considerably shabbier, and smaller, than the others. Vincent`s eyes fluttered open as he felt the sun gleam through the window, landing squarely on his eyes. He groaned as he practically rolled off of the side of his bed, landing on his talons and back paws. He swore, some days it felt like Celestia had purposefully moved the sun just to blind him every morning... He rose up, taking a moment to stretch himself- wincing as he over extended his left wing. Damn. He should have known better by now... He`d injured it years ago on a delivery to Germaney, having gotten jumped by a manticore during a quick rest. He could still fly, thanks to a lot of surgery and physical therapy, but he`d been forced to limit himself to local deliveries now... No more flying across the ocean for him. If it hadn't been for that, he probably never would have bought this house and settled down. He stumbled over to his dresser, putting on his usual outfit (See his character page in my sig for what he`s wearing). He`d always been a fan of the look, plus the jacket was sturdy enough for those long flights he use to take... Vincent sighed, walking into the kitchen and putting on a pot of coffee. He had some time to kill before he had to make his deliveries at noon... It`d be a pain in the ass to go through the military checkpoint again... Maybe he could sneak around?
  3. @@Pucksterv, "Not much i`m afraid..." The male griffon admitted, reaching to rub the back of his neck with his talon. "I went to that neighborhood that had that big fire the other night: Figured there wouldn't be too many people there. I was right, but... well, a lot of the stuff that would have been there was burnt up too." He said with a small sigh. "Got some wood, water... a few parts... and some electrical wiring. No food or medicine..." He said, glancing at his wing, which he flapped experimentally: and winced as he felt the pain from his injury. @, He blinked as he heard knocking, turning towards the sound. "Wait here." he instructed as he went towards the door. As he heard Blaze, however, he relaxed. He undid the deadbolt he'd added to the front door, openning it for the stallion."You know you`re not suppose to run around during the day, Blaze. You`ll get caught in the fighting." He said in a patronizing tone. "Whats up?" He asked, figuring it had to be important.
  4. Vincent walked around the decrepit buildings, glancing as he passed people, far too tired and annoyed to make small talk... Living in Equestria as a Griffon had been hard enough to begin with. When tensions rose, his own neighbors alienated him, treating him like a second class citizen. Sure, he`d done plenty of deliveries as a courier to the Griffon Kingdoms before war broke out, but that didn't make him some sort of spy! Bastards. He had the papers to prove he was an Equestria citizen but it didn't matter. Life only became harder when his town got torn to hell and back. He was shot at by all sorts of groups... Equestira soilders thinking he was a Griffon spy... Griffon Archers thinking he was an Equestian Sympathizer.... Hell, most of his own neighbors had tried to attack him when he'd sought sanctuary. Due to all this, One of Vincent's mighty wings had been seriously injured by arrow fire. Had there been a hospital to go to, he could have gotten it treated... He`d patched it up best he could, but without proper care, he couldn't fly with an injured wing. Vincent was clearly taking it hard. Vincent had alternated between doing guard duty, and occasionally scavenging along with Blaze, either together for saftey or splitting up to cover more ground. The last night he`d spent out scavaging, having found some moonshine, basic supplies, and of course... "Hey, Aurai." He said as he appoached the fellow Griffon's corner. Her presence had been one of the few reasons he'd trusted the group enough to stay with them... "I found a few books while I was out last night. They're... a little burned, from the fires, but..." he said as he offered them to her. "Sorry I didn't tell you sooner: Soon as I got back, I sorta passed out on my pile of clothes." He said with a light chuckle, referring to his 'bed' @@Pucksterv, @,
  5. Vincent sat up, perfectly straight in the back of the car. He took a moment to look at himself in the rear-view mirror... as always, his father insisted he dressed his best.He was wearing a black tie ontop of a white dress shirt, fitted black dress pants to go alongside it. He looked himself over... not a crease to be found along his entire outfit, per his father's instructions. "Sit up straight, maggot!" He suddenly heard from the from of the car, instantly straightening his back. "Yes Instructor Walker!" He shouted from the back of the car... he knew his dad didn't mean it when he called him maggot. It was just the side effect of growing up in a military family... with a dad that sometimes forgot when he was a father and when he was on base training recruits. They'd moved all around the country, throughout his life, as he father trained recruits at various military installations. Finally, just in time for his last few years of school, they were sending him to a boarding school... Maybe here, atleast, he'd spend enough time around people for them not to actively run away from him. Yeah, Vincent was a pretty big, strong guy, all things considered. He was already big for a kid his age, and between the training is father had put him in, and his perceiving yellow eyes, he scared just about everyone. Finally, they arrived at the front gate, and he climbed out. He gave a salute to his father, said his goodbyes... even managed to get a stiff, slightly awkward hug before his dad got back in the car and drove away. Vincent looked around. Just his luck he would be starting just after Christmas break was reaching it's end....it was hard enough starting at a new school, let alone the middle of the year. He pulled up he jacket and looked around, deciding to take walk around. He didn't have to report and get his dorm key for awhile now anyway.
  6. @@Jolt-Thunderbolt, "Well, I can't see much other reason I`d come to a court house..." He said, smirking slightly. "But yes,I am. I was hoping we'd get a chance to speak yesterday, but you weren't at the Prosecutor's office... Honestly, i`m hoping you found something good out there: Otherwise, i`m going in there firing blanks..." he said, saying the last party quietly, making sure that anyone else in the room wouldn't hear... wouldn't do any good for members of the defense to hear that...
  7. @@Jolt-Thunderbolt, Vincent got up early, rolling out of bed. He took things slow and methodical, eating breakfast, reviewing the case notes and court record, ensureing he had everything in place. He went for a short fly, stretch his wings, clear his mind, took a shower, brushed his teeth, got dressed and then left for the court room. He was worried... he'd reviewed his case notes, and he wasn't sure how much of a case they had going for them. They had proof that the defendant had been there, but that might not be enough... he hoped to bring the feather he found to forensics... if it belonged to the defendant, that could be all he needed. Still, he wanted to save it... if he could weaken the defenses stance without it, the feather would be a coup de grace to a weakened case. When he walked into the court lobby, he spotted a few ponies milling around, the tall griffon standing out quite prominently. He noted that the defense attorney that had rudely ignored him the day before was there. Thankfully, it seemed that his fellow prosecutor was as well. He straightened his tie again, and walked towards him. "Jolt, correct? I`m Vincent, Vincent Stormwalker. I believe we are working in tandem on this case?" he asked, extending a talon politely.
  8. @@Shadowking58, Vincent held his talon out for a few moments as the defense seemed to choose to completely ignore him... running around the crime scene already. Vincent eventually dropped his talon back to the ground, looking at the defense attorney with little more than disdain now. When the other attorney flew off, Vincent let out an annoyed huff. "Well, that was rude...." he muttered. He planned on looking around a bit more, taking another walk around the crime scene... he walked farther away from the crime scene than he had before, and caught a glimps of something in the sand, caught on a rock so the wind didn't blow it away. It was a large, black feather. Curious, Vincent walked over and examined it closely, careful not to touch it. Hm.... Seems to be bent down the middle.... but the size seems about right for a pony... or a vulture... Vincent turned, planning on sharing his find with the good detective, getting forensics done on the feather.... to find himself alone! What the.... are you kidding me!? I find something that could give me an edge, and the celestia damned detective flew off somehere!? He was the forensics expert too! Vincent was clearly annoyed, literally growling as he decided he'd take the feather as is.... could make good evidence in court tommarrow.... He carefully put the feather in a plasic baggy. "Suppose I should head home... get my case ready." he muttered, taking off. Black Feather added to the court record A black feather, about the same size as the average stallion's feather. Matches the color of the defendant's feathers. Bent down the middle
  9. @@Soldier Surplus, "I see. I was simply curious: In the Griffon Kingdoms, thsese sorts of crimes tend to be more common. I wanted to know what sort of mood to expect in the courtroom..." he said, pausing as he watched the other stallion. ""Ah, so you're the defense attorney..." he said, giving a.... polite smile. "Well, one of them I assume." he said, figureing that if there was more than one member of the prosecution, logic dictated there'd be more than one member of the defense. "As the good detective said, i`m Vincent Stormwalker, nice to meet you." he said, offering a talon. Sure, there were on differant sides when it came to the case, but that was no reason not to try and be civil. @@Shadowking58,
  10. Vincent took a moment to look over the map. It seemed to match up with the layout well enough, so he put it carefully in a satchel that hung from his side. "Well, if I see any poinies slinging lightning around, i`ll be sure to let you know." he said, smirking slightly. He tried to make a mental note of everything that the stallion was saying... after all, you never knew what was going to be relevant in a court case. "Now, Archean, I have a few questions... first of all, how common are.... crimes of this magnitude in Equestria." @@Soldier Surplus,
  11. "I see..." Vincent muttered, hearing that the head detective was gone... he supposed he'd have to track her down later. On the other talon, it sounded like she was chasing a lead, which could help in the long run. Still, his annoyance was clear for a moment before her returned to his usual demeanor. At the question, he chuckled slightly, "Of course. The defense has the advantage of getting to talk to their client, hear more of the story... I`m lucky enough to be able to follow my own leads and talk to any witnesses I may find..." he said, pausing a moment. "Now, I already have an autopsy report... electrocution correct? Am I to assume the weapon was a storm cloud?" he said curiously, not seeing anything else in the area that could have caused such a thing. "What information have you gathered so far?" @@Soldier Surplus,
  12. Vincent was flying over the hot desert, flying towards the scene of the crime. He'd arrived in town barely a week ago, and suddenly there was a murder. It wasn't what he was expecting for his first case in Equestria, but the Griffon supposed it was interesting atleast. He'd been assigned to the case, along with another Prosecutor, something that surprised him... were multiple prosecutors common in Equestria.... and he was a tad worried how that would work out in the court room. He'd have to find his fellow prosecutor later and work out a 'game plan', as it were. For now, he needed to collect the facts. First things first, was speaking to the detective in charge. He'd found out that the detective assigned to the case was currently investigate the crime scene and, with some directions, he flew off towards the site. He spotted a lone pony standing by what he assumed was the detective, taking a moment to adjust for a landing before gliding himself back down to the group. When he landed, he took a moment to wipe some dust off his black suit (a nice contrast to his white feathers), and adjust the red tie he wore, before going over to the pony. @@Soldier Surplus, "Hello. Vincent Stormwalker, Prosecuting Attorney for this case." He said, gesturing to his badge before offering a talon, "I need to speak to the detective heading this investigation. I was told it was being headed by one Shadowhide?" he said, curiously. He hadn't spotted anyone else...
  13. If this was real, I can't imagine anyone being heartless enough to kill a little kid just because they're a bully. I mean, fuck, I sure as hell wasn't perfect at that age.
