  1. Greetings everyone, I'm presenting you with a trailer for my short story I wrote inspired by "My Little Pony:Friendship Is Magic." Check out the trailer, follow the link in the description to read the story, give your feedback, and please share with anyone who might be interested. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x331149_mystic-riders-1st-animated-trailer_fun
  2. I need to watch that. I want to see if they had the same criticisms I did.
  3. So yeah, I saw Big Hero 6 Sunday and again yesterday and couldn't help by get curious about the original comic-book published by Marvel Comics... I gave into my dorky urges and did some research. Enjoy the results, I'm probably gonna end up making more of these... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2x276f_the-original-baymax-and-why-he-was-redesigned-for-the-film_fun#from=embediframe
  4. This is a work in progress animation for a trailer I'm working on to promote my short story The Mystic Rider. Enjoy... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2vxrte_mystic-riders-animation-w-i-p_creation
  5. Dude I'm the same age as you... You're on a forum there are men our age who like G3 and Hell MLP in general... G4 not withstanding G1-3 are mediocre at best. So why would we criticize your taste in mediocrity while enjoying our own?(Again G4 not withstanding?) My point is, while I don't like Beiber or Miley's music, I'd like to think you're in good company... Besides I'm more of a Nsync and Backstreet boys guy...
  6. Point taken... Besides you also reminded me of how this comes with the territory of writing. There will always be someone who points out the similarities... Not only that but I've seen what happens when a writer tries waaaay too hard to be original, they end up creating something that makes no sense. I almost worked with such a team of writers, it was a real trip...

    movies/tv Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon Crystal is Next month? Holy.... *expletive* Well I'll hurry up and watch those re-airings on Hulu then... That depends on who's dubbing it, and the airing time slot. If they do this english dub like the Dic dub then yeah they'll do exactly what you said. Which I wouldn't mind because they have to introduce it to kids somehow... But if it returns to to Toonami *inhales* Nah that's setting my hopes waaaaaay too high...
  8. Ugh, why am I even posting on this thread? Because when it comes to me and Pokemon, I'm almost as bad as a G1 Transformers fan... Well almost as bad... I herald Kanto and Johto as the best, and really fell out of the fandom with everything that came after... So I have some catching up, but as it stands later generations while they have their merits aren't immediate favorites of mine...
  9. While I to two more seasons and a film, I highly doubt G5 will be as good as G4 simply because of the standard this generation set... Now the only way G5 can be better is if it combines the adventurous fantasy and world building of G1 with the character building and driven plots of G4. But that won't happen...
  10. Okay long story short I was watching a review of Eragon on youtube and the moment Sophira(sp?) tells Eragon "You are my rider" my immediate thought was "Oh horse apples." The reason being is this:"I'm guerilla marketing a short story I wrote that was published by "The Literary Yard" called The Mystic Rider, and in this story is this passage: Now maybe this is me think that if I'm successful in getting this story shared and read, that maybe it might be read by fans of Eragon who might assume I've seen the film, read a book and think that maybe I ripped it off for that one moment... Or maybe I'm being paranoid...
  11. Yep, and thank God for that... And I'd like to say how that doesn't excuse the under use of the background ponies and giving them shining supporting roles, but like I already said:" I think they're trying to avoid what G1 Transformers and My Little Pony did, where you had this overwhelmingly large cast of characters to where it hard to keep track of them all." The only reason people like myself managed that is because we were invested in the world and mythology G1 MLP and Transformers had... Not to mention with Transformers at least the characters had memorable traits. But my point is not everyone can get that invested into a series. I think another problem is that something about G3 worked for Hasbro and they're trying to cling to whatever that was while balancing it out with what these new writers want to do.
  12. Really? Why? I ask that because of this:"I'm a comic-book geek who grew up in the 90s. The only comics I read that were "kid friendly" were Sonic The Hedgehog comics, as the Marvel and DC titles were geared to guys from ages 13 and up. Simply because DC Comics published Alan Moore's Watchmen and Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns in 1986(Two years before I was born) and because of that the mainstream media in it's infinite wisdom deemed that Superhero Comic-books aren't just for kids anymore! And while some good stories came from this until the early 2000s Marvel and DC had stopped making comics for kids. And then you have the mainstream gaming market who seems to rely on the three gaming franchises: Call Of Duty, Clash Of Clans, and EA Sports titles when through out the 80s and 90s, you had a wide variety of games to choose from. Now yes the mainstream PoV is that MLP is a pink, frilly show for little girls, but if, the battle during Canterlot Wedding, Daring Do's nod to Indiana Jones, Mare-Do-well, The Power Ponies, Twilight's fight with Tirek, and IDW MLP Comics are any indication, that PoV is changing. But my hope is that it won't change so much that it won't feel like MLP anymore. Hence why I'm glad Hasbro's sticking to their guns... However, just because it's a show for little girls doesn't mean that the there shouldn't be character development, depth, and interesting plots like there have been so far. Honestly as a guy who's played with girls, I find it unfair that we get all the cool $%#@... Though it's kinda understandable... Statistics and all that...
  13. Interesting, why? I only ask, because I made the mistake of observing Social Justice Warriors, which poisoned my PoV on girls preferring "Brony" over "Pegasister." Speaking as a guy who's been a geek ever since I learned to spell in Kindergarten, my conclusion was this:"No other fandom has a term that separates gender in the community, so why is it that way with the Brony Community?" Though given that there are some who prefer "Pegasister" I'm guessing they don't mind since the bottom line is that they're fans of MLP:FiM and nothing more. Also there's the assumption that many are Fluttershy, RainbowDash, Derpy, Wonderbolt, Thunderlane, or Sisby fans.
  14. Yeah I can't think of a reason why Flash or Heck any of the background ponies aren't more prominent in the series. This isn't like Transformers Prime where they're limited by how many characters can... Oh wait nevermind, I just remembered that the focus of this series is the mane 6 and occasionally the CmC, so generally when writers have cast focused show, writers tend to create plots that revolve solely around that cast. Thus we don't get development for background characters like Flash. That and I think they're trying to avoid what G1 Transformers and My Little Pony did, where you had this overwhelmingly large cast of characters to where it hard to keep track of them all. A method I both hate and respect Hasbro for...
  15. Develop him as a character? You speak nonsense! Have you forgotten this show's target audience? I'm kidding of course. I agree with you, but I don't t Hasbro will allow that...
