  1. Merry Christmas! It's been decided so by Discord's fanclub! Enjoy!

  2. You mean, why aren't the writers getting any flak? I mean Fluttershy is an animated character--she can't be blamed (since she isn't real) for any thing... Just clarifying here... 3. I liked the Past Spirit's (AJ's) song the best. Very relevant to the story and SS's past.
  4. I watched the episode again and, to me at least, the "hazing" was barely anything. It seemed like most of the Bolts used "Crash" in a very casual way--like it was just her name. (Spitfire was a bit of an exception--she was really leaning on the name, emphasizing it.) Dash was extra sensitive about it but how were the Bolts supposed to know that? They wouldn't know about her past with it.
  5. As to the timing of the episode, I imagine by December Season 6 will have wrapped up as that is more than 26 weeks away. I would rather have new episodes now than draw out the season just so that this one "Christmas" episode can be aired sort of close to that holiday. YMMV
  6. Loved it. A Christmas Carol is one of my favorite stories--I read it every Christmas--so this episode was just perfect for me. The songs were great smd I loved the period look of the story. Plus Luna was a wonderful addition as the future.
  7. I thought it was excellent! Very entertaining and exciting. When the first episode flashed up, "To be continued..." I actually was shocked and said to my daughter, "Already?" It just whizzed by. Some thoughts: One issue that some people are having is Starlight Glimmer's reason for hating cutie marks. I actually think there has been a lot of work done in previous episodes showing that the loss or withholding of friendship can be devastating. See: Party of One, in the first season and What about Discord in season 5. Friendship is shown over and over again (in other episodes also) to be very important to a pony's mental health and so it is easy to see why SG would go slightly off her rocker when she feels it has been taken away from her. SG's reformation was quick and I agree that, as usual, the wrap-up was too fast--but, hey, they got in soooo much in just 44 minutes! I do think that she was totally unaware that her actions were causing such havoc in other timelines and that she was shocked when she saw the end game. I also think that it was great that she decided to stop on her own. It didn't bother me when she relented. Starlight Glimmer's future: I thought that the montage at the end showed SG back at the Equalist town so I figured that she would stay there. I can't see her joining the Mane Six but I suppose it is possible. All in all, a complex episode. A viewer would really have to be seeped in MLP lore and history to really enjoy it. A novice watcher would not really enjoy it on the same level as a person who has seen the entire show from Season 1. Is that a weakness or a strength? As someone who as seen every episode (at least for Season 1-4) many times, of course, I was thrilled with the references and call backs.
  8. Maybe magic artifacts put out some kind of aura? Eh I got nothing beyond that
  9. So that first song is "supposed" to be good? Hmmm. I don't see it and I disagree. It seemed like a parody of really bad over-produced pop music to me. Jaw-droppingly bad, actually, but in a very funny way.
  10. I haven't seen it but my daughter who is 9 1/2 watched it the other day I looked over at her at one point and she had tears just running down her face. I asked her what was happening and she sobbed that Dash's (?) memory was being wiped. Wow intense. My daughter rarely cries at movies so I would say it was pretty affective!
  11. I loved the really bad pop song that Rara performs during rehearsal--all auto-tune, synthesizers, etc. It was hilarious and AJ's response was spot on. As I hear a lot of contemporary pop due to my daughter, I can attest that a lot of contemporary music is that over-produced and fake sounding. Also, "Sven-gallop"--what a great name based on the famous Svengali character. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svengali Other loves: Flashback with AJ and Rara, the songs (even the hilariously over-produced one), CMC who are always enjoyable. Overall a decent episode.
  12. Hilarious and wonderful tribute to O. Henry's The Ransom of Red Chief. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ransom_of_Red_Chief
