  1. Unsure if we watched the same show. The stories and plots while interesting and better written are wholly unoriginal. Most of the episodes I remember seeing revolve around characters having misunderstandings, they dont communicate their real thoughts, get all sulky and upset and it ends in a conclusion with them finding out each others real thoughts when just talking to each other in the beginning would have fixed everything. Or a character learning the same lesson from a previous episode just in a different context, on top of said characters often forgetting and acting against that lesson in later episodes. That and characters doing something unnecessarily stupid in the beginning of the episode and not something real people would do which then leads to a chain reaction of comedic events where that character finally understands how they screwed up and is able to unscrew it up with a happy ending perfectly in 22 minutes. Most of the characters are super archetypes I've seen before. A nerd. A brash headstrong character who means well. A prissy social elitist. An introverted who remains quiet with not expressing their feelings much. A hyperactive "pixie" with "lol random" memes. Villains including dark evil halves. Unexplained overpowered Aladdin-esc genie character with pop culture powers. The biggest baddest villains you ever seen that get rocked in two episodes. As well as all the main character clones posed as "what if" scenarios. I've seen these. They're called tropes. Almost all stories use these in some fashion but the "good" ones hide them well. When you have characters often breaking the 4th wall by even making fun of their tropes, you are no longer trying to hide them. Dont get me wrong I like the show and think it was better written and took its audience more seriously than other kids shows but when I see "original" I feel like I watched a different show than FiM
  2. Exact same could be said of MLP but that didnt seem to stop people from liking it. Being unoriginal or having poor plot doesnt really stop shows from making it big ya know.
  3. So when looking back at the original Sega CD release of Sonic CD (Sept 1993) there were indeed two separate endings but two different ways of achieving the "good" ending. One way was to get 50 rings in a stage and jump through the warp ring at the end act goal in the exact same manner as the original Sonic the Hedgehog (June 1991). This would just the same lead to a special stage tho this stage was alot similar to Sonic 2 (Nov 1992), where the stage appeared in a pseudo 3D environment with the camera behind sonic with the goal to destroy all the UFOs on the stage before your time runs out to obtain a "Time Stone" this time around (but its obviously a chaos emerald) While this seems like an easy task ask anyone who's actually done it. Its frustratingly hard for your first time as the UFOs seem to stop and change direction randomly although several play throughs you will see the 3 point pattern each have. One of the two main problems is sonic doesnt stop thus backtracking to a UFO you missed on a jump is like turning semi around to drive perfectly between two posts. Its very very easy to miss when jumping at a UFO meaning you now have to decide if you want to try another in your path or turn around to hit the one you missed. The 2nd reason why its hard is Oil and Water drains your timer FAST which is what you're fighting to beat. Making a mistake in a jump can lead you to shave 5-10 seconds off your already dwindling timer. The only way to "recover" time is once the timer gets to "20" seconds a blue UFO will appear dead center in the stage frozen that will add 30 seconds. As a commonly unknown bonus this UFO respawns again when the timer drops back down to 20 and will repeat indefinitely until you exit the stage. Its a stage that appears way easier than it actually is as the UFO sprite hitbox may not exist where you think it is and you swore you hit it but did not react. Also you would be incorrect to say Sonic CD doesnt save states. As the Sega CD used CDs media format it had internal storage for save game data, albeit a relatively small amount (Shining Force CD takes up the entirety of the internal memory capacity with just a single save file). On another side note you can increase the size capacity of the Sega CD with a "CD Backup Ram Cart" that plugs into the Genesis slot that allows saves from the CD to transfer to the cart which is over 16 times in size. The reason why I bring up this save feature is another little known "bug" is Sonic CD automatically only save states a file after a stage score screen appears. This means if you fail or know you're going to fail you can reset the CD and start the special stage over and over again until you succeed as long as you dont allow the stage clear score screen to appear. Now once you get all the time stones and beat the final "Metallic Madness" zone boss you get the good ending. Another way is to destroy all of the "Robot Generators" also called "Robot Teleporters" located in the past of the first two acts of each zone. Most arnt truly hidden and dont take very much effort to navigate to but if you're not already aware of where they are in each act it can be frustrating finding them without a guide considering the size of each stage. As long as the generator is found and destroyed in the first two acts of each zone you can obtain the good ending exactly the same as the time stones. There are also some "projectors" hidden around the past of each act as well but these dont do anything if destroyed(other than you visually see animals roaming around acts freely). Projectors are just something to find. So thats sonic CD on the Sega CD but there have been releases and updates since the Gems Collection. The most current is the "Taxman" (2011) version which isnt a "rerelease" in a sense but rather the Sonic CD game rebuilt and designed from scratch to run for Playstation 3, XBOX, PC and Android devices using Christain Whitehead's "Retro Engine". All of this was officially supported by Sega. This rerelease version includes enhanced music, achievements, widescreen support, online features (such as leaderboards), filters to change the way the game is displayed and a Sonic 2 styled spindash option(visual difference only). When the game is beaten once, Tails is unlocked which is a completely new addition to unseen before. Tails gameplay is ripped right from Sonic 3 where he can freely fly. However when played he doesnt, receive any Opening or Ending "Anime Cuscenes" like sonic. Amy's and Metal Sonic's appearance are removed as well so you dont race Metal in Stardust Speedway Act 3. Otherwise this version is faithful to the original game. This is the version most modern audiences are aware of despite Sonic CD appearing on the Game Cube/PS2 and PC previously and most likely the one people say they've played if not referring to the Sega CD version. I've beaten Sonic CD on previous versions as well but this is the one I was referring too with "achievements". An unnecessarily long post to your question but when I say i've 100% Sonic CD I mean i've gotten all the Steam achievements and played through the game again using tails getting the Time Stones and not. In the same way as the Game Cube version except for "Comix Zone" and "The Ooze" which can be unlocked with a Sonic Heroes save game on the PS2 memory card. The other games are unlocked by [Alex Kidd and the enchanted castle]-Complete Flicky [Blue Sphere]------------------------------Play Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic 3D Blast 20 Times Each [Comix Zone]-------------------------------Have 40 hrs of game time on Sonic Heroes [Flicky]--------------------------------------Play Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine 30 Times [Knuckles in Sonic 2]---------------------Play Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic Spinball 20 Times Each [Ristar]--------------------------------------Play Blue Sphere, Knuckles in Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Flicky 30 Times Each [Sonic 2 Advanced Edit]-----------------Complete Sonic 2 [Sonic 2 Game Gear]--------------------Complete Sonic Chaos [Sonic 3 & Knuckles]---------------------Play Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles 20 Times Each [Sonic CD]---------------------------------Complete Sonic 1 [The Ooze]--------------------------------Have 40 hrs of game time on Sonic Heroes [Vectorman]-------------------------------Complete Flicky and Ristar
  4. Maybe the cartoons were not popular statistically but DAMN if everyone I know hasnt seen and liked the chipmunks movie in their childhood which was an extension of the cartoon.
  5. Suck is...such a strong word. "Special" maybe would work better. Like when your "special" brother puts dimes up his nose and sticks carrots in his eyes. Really Apple products are best described as the "automatic transmission" of the digital world. They are certainly well built and stylishly designed products both physically and software wise but their main problem comes from the lack of "control" or "customization". They really do limit what you can do to what apps apple allows you to have. There are all sorts of development and program specific customization tools that Windows and Android has that allows common users to fill whatever experience they want to have. If you can code you can make it and install it on Windows and Android but for Apple products they inherently treat users like they are in day care where the grown ups get to decide whats best for you and your tastes. If you have ones that differ from apple. You're wrong and need to learn better. This lack of customization does have one benefit in that it reduces crashes and unexpected bugs to a minimum. Obviously the more control you have over your product the more things can go wrong but then there is just some stuff that is made to be more of a "you gotta buy another" business methodology. If you want a bigger hard drive in your Mac "screw you buy another". If you want to expand the memory on your iphone "Screw you buy another". If you've had your products for a while and the batter no longer holds a charge and you just want to change it "screw you buy another". Apple KNOWS you may at one point want to upgrade or simply replace faulty parts of their products that would be super easy on other platforms but since that would mean 3rd parties would some control in their market with their products that would eat away at Apple's profits, Apple would rather you just suck it up and buy another with the features you want. By having such a stranglehold on their products like Nintendo they can essentially blackmail their customers into buying more products by saying "oh im sorry, it seems you need more space to fit your apps. Oh you dont have space and cant expand it...WELL we do have this new iphone 7 with the exact same capacity size but it is a lot nicer looking". "Oh thats not what you want? Well dont you want to be a somebody? Because you are a nobody without it. We encourage our customers to think differently...in where they spend their money not with us".
  6. Im not sure the market for MLP games anyway. Especially at this point where the show has sorta gone past its heyday. I mean you put the right people behind the development of an MLP game and it could be epic yeah. Tho am not sure how one would create an MLP game now that doesnt feel like you just took a game concept and could have slapped any franchise characters into it. I do gotta agree tho that I expected a MLP game for this gen YEARS ago. I mean we got phone apps and several movies. A video game seems something Hasbro could have easily slapped together. I mean they already had the basis and art style of a game already
  7. Gotta agree that its a lot. .Tho the only people I know with that much space are filling it with less than...family friendly content. I mean if you're gonna go, you're gonna go big or go home. Thats more content I think I have time to watch if I was unemployed for 3 months.
  8. Ya know...memes wernt funny or entertaining BECAUSE they were memes...they were funny and entertainment despite being memes. I dont foresee anyone lining up to pay money to see "lol random meme references". Cuz like...we've had that for like a super long time and has been done to death. Sony, you obviously have animation talent...why you no have script reading talent.
  9. I've got several. Mainly getting all emblems/achievements in Sonic Adventure, Sonic CD and Sonic Generations. Considering how hard and time consuming some of them are its really of more dedication on my part. Misplaced dedication im sure with lapses in sanity over getting good at "going fast" but i've achieved stage clears in times I didnt even think possible.
  10. Considering the premise of the shows they've already made, yeah im sure they can make a good show even out of the chipmunks considering how popular the cartoon was in the past anyway. That being said this is all prefaced with the idea that they continue to direct the show and not leave for other projects halfway and then the executives decide to go their own direction.
