Backstory
Amber came from a long line of Royal Guards. Her older brother, Steel Blade, enlisted in the Guard as well, and of course Amber was expected to follow in the hoofsteps of her ancestors. However, Amber was drawn toward a job involving mathematics. Instead of enlisting in the Guard, she went to college and got a degree in structural engineering. During this time, she earned her Cutie Mark when she helped at a crossing stop and prevented a fight. Afterwards, she got a job with a large construction firm, Cold Lake Engineering. She maintained her job for two years, but after a while she began to feel that her job was stagnant, and she was growing sick of petty workplace politics. While walking down the road one day, she saw a recruitment poster for the Police Department of Greater Manehattan (PDGM). Interested, she looked into the Department. What she learned—the duties of the officers and the variability of the job—sold her. She joined the force and went through the police academy, coming out as a fresh officer. She also quit her job at Cold Lake Engineering, dropping down an income bracket. For the six years since then, she has been an officer of the law.

Personality
Amber Light is sarcastic and aloof with a dark sense of humor. Her law enforcement experience has made her inherently distrusting of strangers, and she has a bad habit of cracking jokes at the wrong time. In addition, due to her aloof nature, she can come off as uncaring or indifferent, especially to those who don't know her.
