• Physical Description

  Pristine Polish is a light blue unicorn pony with striking green eyes and a trio of white freckles on her face. She has a long mane and tail that has two different shades of blue in it. Her cutie mark is that of soapy bubbles. She likes to wear earrings and necklaces or scarves. Her unicorn magic is a bright blue and she speaks in a soft voice brimming with confidence and certainty.

• Backstory

  Pristine Polish was born in a unicorn dominated city called, Sparkletown, so prior to moving to Ponyville her interactions with the other races were minimal. Sparkletown residents are known to despise dirt and be total neat/clean freaks who hate getting their hooves dirty for anything. So they have this reputation of being kind of snobby and uppity. Pristine Polish and her older sister, Snow Shimmer, however, while being a bit out of touch are not like the majority of the Sparkletown uppity unicorns. In fact they’re a lot more down to earth and hard working. Snow Shimmer is eight years older than Pristine and as such Pristine looks up to her. From a young age, Pristine thought her older sister so cool and longed to be just like her. She would try to copy her sister and do whatever she did.

   

  One of the first games they played together once Pristine was big enough was hula hooping. Snow Shimmer proved to be a natural at it and Pristine wanting to be just like her sister also wanted to be good at hula hooping. Unfortunately, for Pristine while she enjoyed playing with her hula hoop she wasn’t as good at it as Snow Shimmer.

   

  Still that didn’t stop her from trying to get better at it. She felt certain that it was her destiny to get her cutie mark in hula hooping and become a world champion at it. Well life as you may know has this funny way of doing things. As it turns out neither Pristine nor Snow Shimmer got their cutie mark in hula hooping much to Pristine’s disappointment. Actually, Snow Shimmer already received her cutie mark in ice skating. In fact, ice skating was their other shared activity they enjoyed doing together. Once Pristine was big enough to start learning, Snow Shimmer was only all too happy to show her younger sister how it’s done starting with the basics like balance. It seemed that unlike hula hooping, Pristine Polish had more of a knack for ice skating and rollerskating. At long last she thought she found the one thing that made her special; that she was the best at. So she would put all of her energy and time into learning all she could about the sport of ice skating and practicing with Snow Shimmer, so she could get even better at it. She thought that if she did that she could get her cutie mark in ice skating and become a world famous ice skater like her sister. Sadly while skilled she wasn’t good enough to get ice skating as her cutie mark. Still, that didn’t stop her continued obsession with skating. It was what she enjoyed doing after all. Her parents, meanwhile wanting the best for both of their daughters, encouraged her to keep trying thinking that she will get an ice skating or even a rollerskating cutie mark eventually.

   

  It was her sister who encouraged her to try her hooves at other things and so after being initially resistant towards the idea she tried it. Her family was wealthy because her parents owned a well-known, popular drinks spot in Sparkletown that was famous for their delicious smoothies, different flavored teas and milkshakes. It was a business that was started by Pristine’s great great grandparents and the company was passed down through the family ever since. Inspired by her family’s company, Pristine decided to try her hoof at smoothie making. But without magic it didn’t turn out so well. She would make large messes in her family’s kitchen where she practiced and she didn’t seem able to get the fruit combos just right causing her smoothies to taste either too sweet or too sour. But she didn’t give up and she did get better at making smoothies for herself and family. While her parents were proud of her they did not want their daughter doing menial labor like a common earth pony.

   

  Sparkletown has a school in which all young unicorns attend to learn magic and Pristine Polish was no exception. There the unicorn students were encouraged by their teachers to find a magic unique to them. In her excitement, Pristine worked tirelessly to discover any kind of magic that could help her become a better hula hooper or a better ice skater like her older sister. But sadly as hard as she tried she couldn’t find anything. In fact, she learned that earth ponies were generally better at those physical activities anyway; which caused her to become the tiniest bit jealous of them since those were the very activities she was interested in.

   

  One day, as she was beginning to lose hope that she will ever find her true calling and get her cutie mark her horn began to act very strange. Without any warning it started to glow all on its own as it then began to forcibly drag her from her home. For what seemed like miles her horn led her to what appeared to be some sort of cleaning demonstration in the middle of town. It was a couple of earth ponies putting on the demonstration and they seemed surprised to see a little kid there. She stayed mainly out of curiosity and because she refused to believe that her horn led her all that way for nothing! She had to admit she had no idea there were so many different ways to clean stuff. Her parents were rich and so they had maids to clean up messes, so she never really thought about it before. She had to admit she was even more intrigued when they had a book on various cleaning methods and spells. The book was a bit on the pricier side, but she felt certain that it will all be worth it if there was any chance that her destiny was inside the book. What made the whole thing eerie was as soon as she made the purchase and turned to walk away, the earth ponies and their wagon had mysteriously vanished into thin air. Even the other ponies watching the demo had disappeared and when she started asking if any pony had seen the earth ponies no pony claimed to have seen anything. Naturally, Pristine was more than a little freaked out, but she assured herself that everything happens for a reason.

   

  Upon returning home she was anxious to start reading her new magic book. She hoped to find a spell that would impress her teachers, family and classmates. Although young she still knew she had to start off small before working her way up. Even the book suggested it. Pretty soon she found just what she was looking for: a spell that could get hard to remove stains out of whites. She knew such a spell would be useful, so she practiced and practiced whenever she could. She didn’t stop there. Desiring to master every cleaning spell in the mysterious book, she read every single page several times over. And then she would practice the cleaning spells on various objects that she would deliberately make dirty.

   

  Then the day in which she finally earned her cutie mark came. There was a grand party coming to Sparkletown that the elite were invited to including Pristine Polish and Snow Shimmer’s parents. Unfortunately, Snow Shimmer’s mother’s favorite silk dress had an awful stain on it that no matter what she and the maids tried they just couldn’t seem to get the stain out. Thankfully, thanks to all of her months of study, Pristine knew just the right silk cleaning spell for the job. Taking a deep breath, Pristine concentrated on the difficult stain on her mother’s silk dress and in a blink of an eye the stain disappeared. Before any pony could say anything, a glow surrounded Pristine and her cutie mark then magically appeared on her flank. It was that of soapy bubbles and Pristine who was so very proud of herself thought it beautiful. The room watched in awe since it always a beautiful moment when a pony receives their cutie mark. As such Pristine felt certain her parents would be super proud of her. Sadly for her, the opposite happened. Her parents; her mother in particular seemed embarrassed and ashamed that their daughter would receive their cutie mark in cleaning I.e menial labor instead of doing something worthy and exciting like her sister. Crushed, Pristine ran off in tears and after Snow Shimmer gave their parents an earful she ran after her sister to console her.

   

  While Snow Shimmer tried her best to comfort her, Pristine swore that as soon as she was old enough, she would leave Sparkletown forever and find work elsewhere. She was understandably upset that her own parents would act that way and say such awful things. She didn’t want to be related to ponies like that. But she assured her sister that no matter what happens she will always keep her in her life. One would think that her parents would do the right thing, realize their horrible mistake and apologize, but they never did. Pristine Polish continued her studies both inside and outside school and was able to graduate. She had successfully impressed her teachers and classmates with her advanced cleaning spells.

   

  After becoming a young adult, Pristine as promised packed up and left home in search for a new life with whatever belongings she could fit inside her wagon. She figured she could make a living selling cleaning solutions as well as her cleaning services. She first tried her hoof at Canterlot since it was another unicorn dominated city. She didn’t interact much with the other races previously, so she didn’t know how well she would get along with them. She didn’t want to come off as racist like her parents, so she always tried her best not to hurt any pony’s feelings. Unfortunately, many customers there came across as rude and overly demanding and even moreso after they discovered she was an outsider. She couldn’t take it, so she left!

   

  While trying to think where to go to next, her unicorn magic once again took charge. This time it led her to Ponyville. She realized like before her unicorn magic led her there for a reason and she shouldn’t question it. Her initial impression of Ponyville was that it had a sort of rustic charm to it. She was nervouscited! She couldn’t wait to make some friends since besides her sister she didn’t really have any friends. She hoped she could make a good first impression this time.

   

  After doing some house hunting, Pristine found the perfect home, bought it and moved in. She would try selling her cleaning solutions from her wagon the next day.

• Personality

  Pristine Polish is a kind, compassionate, and empathic unicorn who likes to help others. While she is kind she can sometimes be a bit on the sarcastic side and can be really stubborn sometimes. Pristine is a major clean freak who is obsessed with cleaning just about every little mess she sees and goes crazy if a mess is allowed to remain for very long. She will literally go out of her way just clean up a mess in her endless pursuit of making Equestria a much cleaner place to live in. She, however, refuses to allow others to take advantage of her willingness to clean everything and as such she really hates it whenever somebody deliberately makes messes. She refuses to allow anybody to step on her and as such she is quick to stand up to others.

   

  Unfortunately, she can sometimes get carried away in said pursuit. While she hasn’t yet tried to remove dirt from a farm she has on a number of occasions interfered with harmless messy fun i.e food fights and paintball fights by prematurely cleaning up everything. She has even tried to advocate against mud puddles claiming that they serve no real valuable purpose beyond making everything and everyone dirty. She doesn’t seem to understand that even dirt and mud have their place.

   

  Furthermore, Pristine is highly confident in her own abilities and is a hard worker who takes a lot of pride in her work. For the most part she carries herself with a cool, calm demeanor. As such her hard working attitude makes her dislike lazy people and those who mooch off of others without contributing anything of their own.

   

  Her pride also causes her to dislike anybody who mocks her career choices and think her inferior to them simply for being in the cleaning business. She is quick to point out that if it wasn’t for her and others in similar positions the world would be covered in filth. She really dislikes anybody who are rude and snobby and think themselves better than everybody else.

   

  Pristine also can’t stand it if a fellow unicorn or alicorn attempts to replicate her cleaning spell because she feels if somebody else can do the exact same thing then she really isn’t all that useful. But she shouldn’t worry since even a unicorn gifted in magic might find it difficult to one hundred percent replicate her spell mainly because it isn’t just one spell. It’s actually multiple for each one is different and it depends largely on what item she is trying to clean. For example, she has a very different cleaning spell for just about every surface and clothing fabric you think of. After all, she studied these cleaning spells for years. So yeah replicating each one of them with one hundred percent accuracy within seconds even for gifted unicorns would be very difficult if not impossible to do.

   

  Additionally, she really likes having her own personal time and takes her personal bubble very seriously. Understandably, she isn’t too thrilled with ponies invading her personal space.

   

  Pristine also really hates loud sounds and large crowds as they make her uncomfortable; which is why she likely wouldn’t attend things like concerts unless the music isn’t ear piercingly loud. She prefers quiet individual activities like reading, studying various cleaning spells, listening to normal volume music, poetry, watching beat poetry, meditation, and various exercises.

   Pristine Polish hadn’t been in Ponyville long at all, so she hadn’t exactly established herself just yet nor does she know every pony. She’s hoping to change all that and get some clients. After all, a great way to boost business is through word of mouth. So, she hopes to make a great first impression on every pony. After grabbing some breakfast, she headed off to the middle of town with her wagon in tow to sell her cleaning solutions to the Ponyville residents. It was a nice sunny morning and as far as the light blue unicorn could tell most of the residents appeared to be in a good mood.
    
   Using a megaphone, Pristine Polish cleared her throat and made the announcement, “attention Ponyville, I Pristine Polish am here today to present to you a very special offer. For the low, low price of five bits you can now remove nasty stains from just about anything including whites. Yes, it’s true no longer can stains hide from even the finest of silk for I, Pristine Polish have created just the right solution using the right amount of my unicorn magic to get the job done. In fact, I am so confident in my product that if it doesn’t work to your satisfaction I will fully reimburse you! Yes, you heard that right ladies and gentlecolts! My product will work and if it doesn’t you will get your money back. You don’t believe me? Here let me show you what my cleaning solution can do for you today!” After making her claim Pristine retrieved a white hand towel from her wagon and deliberately tossed it into a nearby mud puddle causing some in the audience to audibly gasp. Pristine chuckled though she could hardly blame them. The once beautiful towel was now absolutely filthy and unrecognizable. “Relax, it’s all part of the demonstration,” she assured them.
    
   Humming softly she used her unicorn magic to telekinetically pick up the now muddied towel. She then telekinetically picked up one of her cleaning solutions, removed the lid and poured some of it onto the towel. “And now for the moment you have all been waiting for! The grand finale!” Upon lifting the towel out of the solution and wringing it dry, she slowly unfolded the towel revealing it to be once again clean without a stain in sight. “Ta da!” Pristine exclaimed taking a bow. Watching in awe, the audience just gasped and then they began to murmur excitedly amongst themselves. Some of them even began to applaud. “Thank you! Thank you every pony! I’m glad you enjoyed my little demonstration,” she said taking another bow.
    
   Unsurprisingly not long after, ponies began to line up at her wagon to purchase some of her solutions. As they did so she began to explain that each one of her solutions was for different things in detail. To make things less confusing she did organize her solutions in various rows. One row was for silk, another for whites, another for colors, another for wood, another for plastic, another for metal, another for bricks, another for porcelain, another for marble, one for glass, and etc. Whenever a customer has a question, Pristine was quick to answer it as thoroughly as possible.
