Sometimes folks like a character soley because everyone else hates them. Basically Gilda is this show's Draco Malfoy.

Heh, I just had a wacky pony dream last night. A bunch of pegasus were having a cloud race (including me) but then Discord bound and gagged the referee and changed the rules so that everyone had wacky super powers. One guy kept cloning himself, another could shoot lasers, it was nuts. I eventually beat Discord by wishing that he would turn incorporeal. The only thing still visible was his heart, which was a peanut. So I ate it. Yes. I pulled a Rainbow Dash.

I have gotten hundreds of comments on my videos. Two of them were hateful. And they were downvoted into oblivion. So I don't really get where this "haters" thing is coming from. I haven't even experienced it. And as for fads, sometimes people don't dig on the show but the love the things that come out of the fandom. For example, Touhou makes me nauseous, but I love Bad Apple. And I don't care for the core Star Wars films, but I love the extended universe stuff. It's also worth noting the fragmentation in the fandom. Many bronies prefer pretending that the furry segment of the community doesn't exist, despite the fact that they make a huge portion of the quality fanart. Personally I steer clear of the odd phenomenon that is shipping, and Rule 34, and consequently I pretty much stay away from fanfiction. There's also the grimdark stuff... it's a little perplexing to me why it even exists, considering this show's major draw is how unflinchingly bright and cheerful it is. That's just me tho. Judge not eh. I remember having a dream of an unaired episode. Don't remember.. I should have written it down lolol Usually the only times ponies appear in my dreams is in arbitrary cameos. Like, it's the storming of Normandy or something, and one of us is a pony. Why not.

There are a few stock plots that every cartoon has to do eventually. Maybe not in the second season, but eventually. For example, they already did these schticks: "One character gets suspicious because the others are throwing a surprise party" "One of the characters gets randomly famous for a day and then no one ever talks about it again" "The Ransom of Red Chief" yeah, just google that. "Wild West Shootout" "Flashback episode" These are usually the worst kind of filler, in this case it was the best episode of the season. So what are the mandatory plot setups that haven't been touched yet? How about: Mind switch! Hilarity ensues trololololol One of the characters gets turned into a baby and everyone has to take care of her. (Remember what that happened to the dad in Rugrats? What a tweest!) Beach episode! Although that's more of an anime thing. Baseball episode! Yeah, sorry but ponies don't have hands. Breaking a world record collaborative attempt! World's biggest calzone? lol why not The episode where everyone speaks in rhyme. (Great fun, but unlikely at this juncture. Although... considering Bridle Gossip...) One of the characters turns invisible! Existential crisis ensues! Also hilarity. One of the characters wins the lottery! Oh universe, you so fickle. Dream sequence episode! (Man, Azumanga Daioh OWNS this setup) Side-character-only episode (not on the radar as of yet) Brady Bunch style boys vs. girls contest! (wait, this show has boys?) You Saved My Life and Now I'm Obligated to be Your Slave Forever (22 minutes) Jailbreak! Woo yeah! falling in with the bad crowd (AKA Rainbow Dash joins a gang) Graffiti ensues! Someone eats something spoiled and goes on a vision quest (classic!) All Things Die One Day Author-insert-traveling-gypsy-type-dude (hmm, might be too late for that) And last I can think of but not least, Everyone Turns into Animals.

I don't go much for romantic shipping, but I love friendshipping. Twilight + Pinkie is a particularly fun combo. They're like Dexter and Dee Dee, Spongebob and Squidward, Pinkie and the Brain!
