  1. No, I think Hasbro should just focus on FiM. I don't really see the point in having 2 really similar shows going on at the same time. I wouldn't mind FiM episodes about the main cast visting the EQ universe, but having a separate series is overdoing it.

  2. Marina and the Diamonds. I think she's a wonderful singer and songwriter and I'm quite looking forward to hearing her new album in 2014. I'm particularly fond of Mowgli's Road, Oh No!, Primadonna and Sex Yeah. I hope I can one day get to hear her live, but I live in Germany so she probably won't be visiting often.

There's also Madonna. I haven't heard much of her music, but I like what I've heard from her so far :) especially Material Girl.

  3. I actually kind of like your theory. It would be pretty interesting. But it seems a bit too similar to (fake) Cadence actually being a villain, Chrysalis, and I don't know if the writers want to do something like that again. But there are also quite a few differences between the two meaning that it is possible.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. But I don't know, maybe it could tie into the show and have the guy be involved with Chysalis? Though, to be honest, I doubt she'll be coming back in some way and, really, I imagine the guy would be designed quite similar to her if that was the case. So probably not that.

So maybe he's just a completely normal guy in a slice-of-life episode ending with a love-related moral. Hopefully one that won't be absolutely terrible.

  4. As I've already said before, I'm betting that if he isn't some generic Gary Sue, then he's an incubus. I just think it would make so much sense that he would first seem to be the perfect guy, then turn out to be a deceptive villain.

Though, of course, maybe I'm just overthinking it. But still, I can imagine that happening. I honestly don't think the writers would throw in a handsome jock cliche, to be honest. Perhaps I'm just being a bit too optimistic, but hey.

  5. I agree with everything but this. I don't think we can use the rule of "Don't knock it till you try it" With something that's blatantly just Hasbro trying to cash in on our fandom.

The main show itself is just there to sell toys and make money, and it seemed to turn out pretty well. It's just the same with Equestria Girls - and while I'm not a big fan of the design ("let's make a show about how there's no wrong way to be a girl, whilst giving all the characters the same clothing and body type!") I don't think we should jump to conclusions just yet.

  6. This seems pretty interesting. I actually think the new designs are really nice and unique and not at all terrible, but I feel like they're a bit lacking in colour and brightness. Nonetheless, I remember liking PPG quite a bit when I was younger, so I'll be sure to see this when it airs. (With the release date being in September, I suppose it'll keep me distracted during the MLP hiatus too, so there's also that.)

  7. I started watching Evangelion and Bokurano about a week ago and finished the first few episodes. They both seems pretty good at the moment. Hopefully they won't make me cry my eyes out unlike some anime shows.

  8. The only thing I can say is that the hair on the front of her neck shouldn't be there. Since she's running forward, the hair should go behind her head, and right now it looks like it's somehow stuck there. I would suggest simply removing it, since with the perspective here it wouldn't be visible.

As for the mouth, try using a reference picture to copy from to get the shape right. I would also suggest making the right side of the head slightly narrower, since her head seems to be bulging outwards a little.

Overall, however, it's a really brilliant picture. You've done a great job with the colours and anatomy and the fact that you've managed to make it look dynamic is great. Just tweak it up a bit and you're done.

  9. Quite often I feel like a lot of bronies can be incredibly pretentious at times. Yes, it's a decent community in general, but some really do irritate me, especially those who say that they are awfully oppressed, and compare being a brony to being a slave. I really do feel enormous sympathy to those who get bullied, abused or kicked out of their homes for liking My Little Pony, but if all you get is a few insults over the internet then that's not the same.

Also, as much as I love meat, I don't really like bacon that much. Whilst it's not terrible, it's not particularly good either. I even try to like bacon but to no avail.

  11. GUYS, GUYS!! THE SCRIPT WAS LEAKED!! IT PROVES THIS THEORY!

    [WARNING:MEGA MEGA SPOILERS]

Narrator: Once upon a time there was an ugly unicorn. It was so ugly, that everyone died. The end.

  12. All anime have a soundtrack, like any entertainment medium, but it's usually FAR less prominent. What's more is I don't think people pay attention to it as much because they are either A) reading subtitles and can't necessarily hear the music while trying to read it (lack of multitasking) or B ) the music is almost entirely for background and doesn't stand out so no one pays attention to it.

I myself only rarely pay attention to a soundtrack and it's usually during anime like Darker Than Black or Baccano which have soundtracks that really compliment the mood of the action.

K-On's actually an anime that focuses mostly on music. While there isn't much in the BGM, there are a lot of songs that are really vital to the plot, since it's about a high school band. The rest of the show mostly focuses on friendship and procrastination, but those parts have some of the most hilarious moments in the anime.

I can't say I've seen a lot of animes, but a brilliant one would be Puella Magi Madoka Magica. It starts off as your typical magical girl anime, with friendships and school and magic, which then gradually evolves into one of the most disturbing animated shows ever.

    And most heartbreaking.

Also, the studio that made K-On had their new show, Tamako Market aired just a month ago. It's a hilarious one.

  13. Fanworks aren't illegal. They aren't infringing if they aren't fair use. In fact, from what I know, even commissions are legal, as long as you give credit and don't just steal the source completely, though there is quite a bit of controversy around making profit.

The only reason Fighting is Magic got a C&D was because it started to get massively popular. If it was released, and other big companies found out and started getting involved, Hasbro could have lost their rights to Friendship is Magic. They've already lost the previous generations, and they don't want to lose G4 too.

  14. This looks interesting. I'll be looking forward to this.

    Rant:

And, honestly, will the obnoxious objectors (I don't at all mind the reasonable ones, of course) quieten down? The episode hasn't even been released, and already people are throwing childish fits about it, not to mention it's a cartoon about magical talking pastel horses.

Be patient, and have some faith in the writers. Remember when the synopsis for A Canterlot Wedding was revealed, and people got angry because another alicorn was being introduced? And yet it turned out fine (or at least better than people expected). So please, calm down and actually judge the episode when it has been aired.
