I just plain don't like having pets no matter how cute and cuddly they are. I'd rather take a child than a pet any day, because while both involve messes, bills, teaching, pissing me off for attention, scheming to get into or do things they know they're not supposed to do, and making sure they don't do anything to kill or poison themselves, at least children speak English and are more capable of things like self-control.

To all of those syaing it's just comedy or you don't get what's hateful, they say we were  "confusing individuality with "being a sociopath."".

I found that part kind of ironic, though I know it was in jest. The people with a bully sense of humor (spew insults at people, doesn't matter what as long as it's angry and/or degrading) making a joke about adults watching cartoons and getting too into them having a personality disorder marked by, among other things, being destructive, lacking an appropriate sense of guilt, and having a warped sense of right and wrong. It's like they just picked the first derogatory term that came to mind without even thinking about how it could be applied realistically or comedically.

I hate that brand of humor whether it's ponies or weathermen. It's no-talent, repetitive, relies on the "ha! losers!" factor, and the kind of people who are partial to it are the ones I see stirring shit just to stir shit because making people feel bad about everything from their weight to their orientation on everything from Facebook to YouTube is enjoyable to them.

It's not the article itself, it's the nature of it - I normally like a laugh at my own fandoms. I don't care if it's stated that the communities in one are the largest gathering of 40-year-old men and 14-year old girls outside of a Chris Hansen sting. It's hilarious and totally true.

I wouldn't mind if most of it wasn't so terribly written. I can laugh at my own fandoms, no problem. I just hope Cracked doesn't become another Encyclopedia Dramatica, where proper satire and real humor and originality are swapped out for the easier game of just calling everyone autistic, virgins, basement-dwellers, etc. The first thing I noticed was the term "sociopath" being thrown out there just because it's edgy and cool.

I'd take a calculated risk for strangers, but I wouldn't outright lay down my life for them. I think people start to forget, when it comes to self-sacrifice theories, that the life of the individual and the individual's right to preserve their own life have value, too. A one-for-one swap especially is meaningless because both lives are valuable unless you want to start calculating the value of individual human lives, which is always uncomfortable.

I'd do it for my child, because I do think I'm obligated to as their source of everything from protection to food to comfort to ensure their safety at all costs to myself.

Considering it's crayon, the lines and general shapes look fine to me. I'm terrible with art and couldn't begin to describe the how to you, but techniques for coloring would be a useful read if you want to run it through a search engine. I think there are even crayon coloring techniques that look nice if they're what you like or you don't have anything else on hand.

Not unless it's recommended. I'm mostly interested in the ponies I know.

Same as the first question.

3) What do you think makes a good fanfic?

A clear idea, in-character or believable out-of-character ponies, and well-written as far as grammar, spelling, and punctuation goes. Fanfiction writers typically don't have the experience of or put in the same amount of hours, planning, and editing as known names in literature so I don't hold them to those standards, but it's a different thing entirely to not fix run-on sentences or correct minor errors. It just seems sloppy and like they're not proud of their own work if they leave it like that, because most fanfiction could probably be spruced up in an afternoon with a little assistance.

4) Are humans common in fanfics?

They seem pretty common to me, but I'm not surprised. It's always been a popular choice to write about someone from our world ending up in the fictional world and meeting the characters.

5) What is the best fanfic you have read?

6) Do you like a story better if it has humans in it or if it is only ponies?

I prefer ponies but I'm open to stories with humans.

7) How many stories have you read?

I only finished 7 in this fandom so far.

8) What genre of fanfic do you like to read?

Drama, adventure, and sci-fi/fantasy are my favorite genres in general so I gravitate towards those, but I also like stories that reflect the show and are about friendship and character. I especially like things that shed light on a fictional universe or fictional character that canon left unexplained or untouched.

I might buy some plushies or figurines if I see any monsters I really like (the grass starter is cute), but the gameplay has been a little stale for me since Hoenn and I didn't buy HG/SS or B/W. Turn-based battle has only ever had so much appeal for me and there are monster battle/collecting games that are more exciting. The 3D is tempting, though.

Having played Pokemon for more than half my life, this excites me. Although G5 Pokemon were a bit unimaginative, I have really high hopes  for this to rekindle my love for Pokemon

 

Other than mentioned stuff, what sort of things do you think we'll be seeing this time round?

 

Also, while we're on a Pokemon thread...am I the only one who never has, or will, nickname their Pokemon?

This is especially annoying when you battle someone of faltering maturity, who has named their Flygon 'BumLord' or something equally inane XD

My friends and I used to give our Pokemon the worst and creepiest nicknames possible just to try to unsettle each other when we played. *cackle*

I'm not sure how warranted a fear of growing up is. For everyone I know who left high school or college and just fell into a slump where their best days were said to be behind them, there''s someone who didn't come into their own and find peace with themselves and their problems or what they really love until well into adulthood. It's not fun, but it brings some advantages.

I'm so glad that you're enjoying teasing others, it's so.... good. Also your acceptance seems to me all fake and sarcastic, but maybe I see more than it is in your words.

There's a difference between playful teasing and putting others down, but if you want to look for ways to read malice in my posts that's your choice. I can admit that things are both strange and perfectly okay because they cause no damage to an individual or anyone around them, and believe that very few things don't have a humorous aspect to them. When you start taking yourself and your life too seriously, it's pretty much over already.

Uhm I don't know about that. I don't perceive it as something perverted or as a fetish, cause it has major differences with those. I get a tiny bit offended when I hear that...

I'm going to assume this is one of those "I'm quoting you by posting below you instead of using the feature" things, and just say that I do view attraction to cartoon characters as unusual but use the term "pervy" lightly. The term is for anything abnormal last I checked, reven if it's sometimes used as an outright insult for people who are into significantly worse things than fantasizing about cartoons.

Sorry you're offended, but I enjoy gentle teasing and the term "pervy skeletons" so I'm going to keep on doing it. The fact that people are into strange things is expected and kind of amusing at this point in my life, and it's funny both how offended people get that others are into these things and how offended they get when you admit that it's weird.

I am not in the least bit bothered by Michael Bay's Transformers films. They didn't have much plot, sure, but they were a visual treat and left the characters unmolested unless you want to complain about the bizarre outcomes of some of the fights. Call me about how bothered you are when you've got Moffat in your fandom and the characters are making out for fans, abandoning their classic quirky humor for the kind of cheap ball jokes a particularly immature 10-year-old would like (okay, so the thing with the dogs was just weird), making a laughingstock and comic relief out of all their old enemies, and deliberately dumbing it down so as to be even more appealing to children and all the new fans because it's been decided, and I quote, that they need to "slut it up" and "compress storytelling" and "write it like a movie poster."

Sexuality and romance is pretty weird in general. Having feelings for a cartoon character is far from the weirdest thing around and if it's not causing you to freak out, it's just your share of the pervy skeletons we all have in our closets.

I've always been kind of stingy with my generosity. I've never exactly been starving out in the cold, but I've never had much and I'm very fussy about what I do have. If I have excess I'll share, but otherwise you're going to have to pry it from my cold, dead hands or guilt me with a crying baby or little old lady.

I'm definitely a child of more modern animation, though I'm part of a few fandoms with roots in the 80's. I've found on my journeys into the past that I do like a couple things about the animation and scripting in those days (one or two things I'd even say should have made it to the future), but most of it just doesn't appeal to me. I think typically you either associate it with your childhood and with the delight we've all had watching Saturday morning or after school cartoons, or it just looks awkward to you if you grew up away from it.

I rewatched several minutes of a G1 episode and I still think it's shrill and I don't relate to the characters like I do the ones in FiM, who we get to see much more variety from in even in episode one. The one that I think Rainbow Dash is taking the place of in FiM (Firefly or something?) was clearly meant to be more of the sporty and tomboyish type when her episodes were released, but I don't think she compares to Rainbow Dash when it comes to communicating that to viewers today.

I've been looking, but I'll have to order custom when I have more pocket change. Someone gave me an Amazon.com gift card for my birthday, and after getting the two things I needed I took a peek at their MLP plushies and was assaulted by bald Twilight.

I think people are just annoyed to see pony material all over things that aren't pony-related, especially a catchphrase that one fan isn't even done saying before another twenty are spouting it. If you're not into something, you really do get sick of seeing it everywhere. It exacerbates the already volatile e-personalities of people.

If we want to make a more compassionate and tolerant world, why limit it or any lessons to a community centered around a television show?

I was scared of how things were organized or placed in my room. If the floor or shelves were too bare or things weren't put away properly, it made me nervous. Marks on utensils from use or damage also freaked me out, even if they were clean (it still does).

Fantasia also terrified me for some inexplicable reason.

Wasn't scared of anything normal.

I got bored, brainstormed, and came up with a few small things to code. Also, other cartoons. Go on an Internet journet to find a cool subject, there's lots of stuff.

I doubt it. Canterlot wedding was probably there because little girls tend to think weddings are pretty and all that, but boyfriends are probably a bit much.

Hire Steven Moffat off of Doctor Who, current fans shed a million tears, fandom over except for six-year-olds and a sudden influx of horny fangirls.

1) Patch things up with some estranged family.

2) Start and stick to a good exercise regime.

Waking up to sunshine coming in through the windows in the middle of cold, dark, depressing winter. Felt awesome and left the window curtains open for a shower, didn't even care.

I would suggest getting a proofreader. That would solve most of your problems. You could start a G-docs with your fanfic and share it with him. Once he ran over it and corrected it, you could post it to FanFiction.

This sounds like the best idea short-term. You provide the ideas and the structure for the story, and someone will help you with grammar, spelling, etc. I don't know how many years you've been reading and writing in English, but chances are that it will become at least a little easier with time.

Communities can be harsh if there are errors, but don't let that deter you.
