  1. I may seem picky on the subject, but personally I don't like any OC that can't justifiably fit into the show (ie, colours that deviate too much from the shows palette, ridiculous non-canon parts of their appearance like broken horns, crazy proportions and crazy coat patterns, overly perfect or overly dark back stories/personalities). Just my opinion though.

  2. Girls certainly have it worse. But having said that, when it comes to people not dating others due to their appearance, girls are just as guilty for turning up their nose at a guy who is over/under weight or has other physical flaws (and it is understandable on both ends to me. Why would I choose someone I am not physically AND emotionally attracted to?). It's not JUST about looks but they play a part.

  3. 4chan doesn't have actual justification for doing the shit they do, it's either out of butthurt or for lolz, usually both.

Tumblr starting it and then played the victim card, well that's 3rd wave feminism for you. The tumblr v 4chan war goes back a lot further than this though.

This. I don't condone anything that 4chan users are doing (and it is only a select few forums taking part) but I can't stand a lot of the people on tumblr. I honestly think they need this spanking to show them they aren't hot shit.

  4. I'm pretty sure conscription wouldn't be a thing... not in Canada anyhow. But if I were in the situation described I would suggest to the officer that we take the soldier captive as he is unarmed. I would only kill the soldier if there was say a death sentence for disobeying orders (which there probably wouldn't be cos Canadian) because in the end if its between me and a stranger I'm afraid I will always choose me.

  5. I grind my teeth, bite my fingernails and am an uncontrollable fidgeter. My hands always need to be busy/have something in them (this sometimes is a problem because I end up rolling the edges of important papers or doing other unconsciously destructive things).

  6. That is interesting. I feel like the lions in the lion king are quite humanized (through expressions, speech and body languague), but maybe for you it wasn't enough to feel empathetic towards them? The ponies in MLP are definitely humanized to a great extent. Just depends on the person I suppose, because I found the lion king very emotional :P

  7. Hello,

As this is the part of the forum about artwork it seemed most appropriate to post it here. If not please feel free to move it.

I often see artwork of MLP online for sale that are not from Hasbro, For instance on welovefine, ebay or artsy. T-Shirts, Prints, Crafts etc. I was wondering how you would be able to sell your artwork without getting sued by Hasbro.

For instance i would like to sell some Pony stuff on Cafe press. Maybe some modified Pony art with funny phrases or something. To make an extra buck. I would think this would not be allowed yet i see others do it. So how do they do it? Do they get an OK for Harbro, It is FUP or are they just selling untill Hasbro asks them to take it down?

    Help would be appreciated.

Considering the number of bronies there are it would be impossible for Hasbro to sue them all. There have been multiple occurrences of Hasbro issuing Cease and Desist letters to some people but even then, you just have to stop.

  8. Well the first forum I joined was friendshipismagic.org but it went down some time ago. I knew of the existence of mlpforums but it took me a while to realise fim.org wasn't coming back so I didn't join until maybe 5 months later.  And I still mostly lurk and only post on stuff that interests me.

  9. The "brony" label really doesn't have anything to do with one's personality. Suddenly becoming a brony isn't necessarily going to change someone and if it does I would argue that they are actually a little too excited about the fandom. No doubt the fandom can change people for the better but adopting the stereotypical brony "love and tolerate" bullshit just because you are a part of the fandom now is very trend-whorey. (I really couldn't think of a better word for that)

Change for the sake of fitting in is the worst thing a person can do if it goes against who we are as people. Some of us can be infuriating to talk to about certain subjects but to quell those thoughts on the grounds that "this is how a brony should act" or something like that is a very irritating concept to me.

I don't believe in mutual respect for the sake of respecting each other. No one deserves respect by default.

Couldn't have said it better myself. People seem to find it easy to forget that people are here because they enjoy a show. That doesn't mean they have to act a certain way, be painstakingly polite and not voice their opinions when they are annoyed by others.

  10. I never had a proper drink (just tastes) of alcohol until I turned 19 (legal age in Ontario). On my 19th I got drunk for the first time just to see what it was like, but I was with a bunch of co-workers who I had only recently met. I think because of this, when I got drunk I basically went mute and didn't talk to anyone. I had fun but for some reason just didn't feel like talking. Then when I moved back home after the summer, my friends threw me a coming home party and I figured I'd give it another try, and it was way more fun. I acted a lot more "drunk" and crazy because I knew everyone there. Nowadays, because I dislike the taste of alcohol I basically drink to get drunk once or twice a year with a group of responsible friends.

To me drinking isn't "drinking because that's the only way to be happy". It's more of a happiness (or any other emotion) amplifier that makes really special occasions that you are already hyped for even more fun. As long as you don't throw up and drink lots of water before bed it makes for a great night!

  11. That sounds like exactly the kind of nonsensical crap I dream about. I remember one from last year, where me and some of my friends were in a Canadian Tire. We had some kind of assignment for school where we had to design ski poles. My friends wanted to use a lightning bolt shaped pole but when they showed it to me it was flimsy like paper and didn't work at all. we were trying to use them to ski around the store and we were eating pizza with only vegetables on it (which I hate). dreams are fricken weird man.

  12. I'm not here to judge but I still don't understand the whole "closet brony" thing. I don't think you should find the need to tell/not tell everyone that you watch a show. I mean if the people you know don't watch it, then it's not like you can talk to them about it so why tell them? If you happen to be talking to someone else who DOES watch the show and your other friends find out, then who cares? just say you watch the show (i mean its just a cartoon for pete's sake). If you treat it like something awkward and weird and "come out" to your friends who aren't bronies, then they will likely respond in the same way.

On a side note, as far as stealthy T-shirts go. I have one that has "harmony" spelled out by periodic elements (get it, "elements of harmony" huehuehue). Only bronies get it and everyone else thinks it is just some generic nerd shirt. My sister bought it on thinkgeek.

  13. Lord Of The Rings.

I can't count on my fingers, toes and teeth how many times I've seen them.

^This. That trilogy is my favourite thing in the world.

Other than that, some other favourites are:

    X-Men : First Class

    The Shawshank Redemption

    Forest Gump

    The Green Mile

    Saving Private Ryan

In case it isn't obvious I'm a Tom Hanks fan :P

  14. At least 6/10 people in the PH server are toxic.

It does not matter what rank you are, everywhere that is not challenger is toxic.

In NA I only occasionally run into toxic players. Maybe 1 toxic person every 3 games.

    -Glaceon

We must have different luck with matchmaking you and I XD
