  1. I love it when I find a video or some music that can actually manage to touch me enough to make me cry, Snowdrop definitely delivered lol. Great video.

  2. I feel like I've become less involved as a whole in the community however there are a few places I still skulk about regularly. I haven't made a forum post in quite awhile as I've seen no conversations I feel like taking part in generally lol. But I still watch ponies daily, listen to some brony music, and play a pony themed minecraft server with a few of my friends a few times a week.

  3. Most games these days have become incredibly easy, people don't like to lose/have the time to repeat stages. Of course that being said there's always an exception to the rule, The first Borderlands game is brutal to play singleplayer and Demon souls and Dark Souls were among some of the hardest games I've ever played. So while most new games are easy to walk through blindfolded others hate you and make their hatred for you known in the first fifteen minutes of gameplay lol.

  4. I have googled up some definitions about 'Cadence' and it's a musical term in italian, I guess it's not related to her status at all. I don't know, it could be just me.

You forget that Cadence's full name is Mi Amore Cadenza though, which is Italian for "my love cadence" So technically her name does have to do with her power of love.

  5. YOU'VE SEEN DERPY IN SEASON 3!?

Where? When? And with who? I could have sworn she wasn't in it...

Tell Me, TELL ME,TELL ME, TELL MEH! (Lol I love Rarity)

Well the one I can recall off the top of my head is at the end of Magic Duel when Twilight is showing off her magic Derpy is in the stands among the crowd on the right and left side (duplicated Derpy's lol?). She's also hidden on the train in the opening title sequence too but she's been there since season 2. I think there's one or two more places but I can't think of them right now.

  6. As it is I don't think anyone really has any concrete knowledge on the Derpy situation at the moment. She's had way less appearances in season 3 (I think only around 3 or 4) as compared to other seasons which is most likely so everyone forgets about the controversy last season. Right now I've seen both rumors that she's been canned for good and rumors that she's coming back in a bigger way in the future, soooo basically we have absolutely no idea what is going on. I don't think Hasbro would completely remove her from the show altogether though...not with the kind of massive backlash they got for editing her, imagine if they outright removed her? People would rage hard.

  7. Sounds like a good idea however my only issue with it is that I have yet to find another local Brony :/ they're like ninjas or something I swear lol. Well that and the fact that we're having the weirdest winter ever, the snow melts for a few weeks then we get a huge snowstorm with about three feet of snow over two days that promptly melts by the end of the week again, so I would need to make sure winter was actually over. But it sounds like a great idea and a good way to help out the community. Now if I could only find some Bronies....

  8. Watching that documentary really does reinforce your Brony pride. I know for a fact my life would be way different if I never found this fandom, I'm a much more positive and caring person now than I was before becoming a Brony and people have noticed the change as time's gone by. To find something that has the potential to deliver so much joy to the people around you and change so many aspects of your personality for the better is astounding.

I'm seriously proud to be a part of The Herd and everything it stands for. It's worth going through any amount of hate imaginable just to have experienced something like this in my life.

  9. Ugh...well at least we got a few seasons that weren't controlled directly by Hasbro. Alicorn Twilight? It's kind of seemed like it was going there inevitably no matter what I just didn't expect it so soon, thought it would be an end of the series kind of thing. Removed Derpy? That upsets me more but you know what? She's still going to live on in the fandom since we've claimed her as our own.

All in all I kind of wondered how long it would take Hasbro to revert to the giant corporation mentality on the series and I guess it only took 2 seasons until they finally did.

  10. Simply put I think it's because Earth Ponies don't really have anything special going for them unlike Pegasai and Unicorns. After all a Pegasus can fly and a Unicorn has magic but all an Earth Pony has is...well nothing that a human doesn't have aside from four legs and no thumbs, so people would rather have some kind of special attribute if they had to pick one simply because it would be different. I imagine people who would want to be an Alicorn are drawn to it because they don't have to choose between flying and magic with that option and can have the best of both worlds not to mention increased magical capabilities.

Kind of makes you wonder if Earth Ponies are ever envious of other ponies, gotta give them some credit for being able to do everything they do without flying or magic.

  11. This is a no brainier  if it's the person you're meant to be with they'll accept every aspect of you and love you all the more. If she gives you an ultimatum about anything where it's her or it she is simply a selfish person and you can do better. Besides, in that situation just think to yourself that there are plenty of single Pegasisters out there lol.

In my own experience? My girlfriend thinks it's cute I like ponies. :D

  12. Oh I have never beem=n made fun of by another brony. My friends just like to bust my balls and everything. I think the brony community is to mature to mak fun of one another.

I don't think I've ever heard of a case of a Brony making fun of a Brony lol, it just doesn't really happen often. And yeah friends'll do that, mine do the same thing.

And you're avatar is creeping me out she just keeps staring at me while I type...lol

Like was said before, the term is used because of the analogy and because they're hiding the fact that they like the show. Most people don't use the term in any reference to homosexuals. Besides, the only term I use is "Brony." To me, Bronies are just people that like the show, nothing else.

Also, people will call you gay and every other similar word as well because they don't understand us. One way to think about it is that us male bronies are so confident in our masculinity that we can like a "girl's show," and (for some of us) admit it. Fact is, we're more manly than they are.

That's pretty much how I look at it, I'm comfortable enough with my masculinity to not be phased by being called girly. And as for being called gay? Well I'm comfortable enough with my sexuality to not be phased by that either.

Most of the hate we catch is dished out I think because the haters are so uncomfortable with the prospect of being seen as unmanly or having their sexual preference called into question. Pity the hater who lives in fear my friends.

  13. I know the term "closet case" orginated from homosexuals. But I feel as if the word is just unneeded. I have been called a closet brony many times by some of my IRL brony friends. I still love my friends, but the term just got on my nerves is all. If people want to use the word, I have nothing against that. But it's insulting because a majority of the bronies in the world are heterosexuals. Many people don't want to be called gay if they're are not gay to begin with. Because you have ignorant people. Like those guys in the brony documentary who smashed that kid alex's car for having celestia and luna on it. Calling him gay and girly. I can't stand anti gay anything. Closet brony just to me is just a word that insults the person who likes the show, but doesn't want anyone else to know.

I did not see the rest of that.  Ninja edit lol. Being called gay just comes with the territory unfortunately :( a lot of really insensitive people out there dishing out hate on those who are different, but they're the minority. I don't believe closet Brony was ever meant to be an insult, after all we kind of gave the term to ourselves because it described the situation those of us in hiding (better way to put it) were in. And Bronies insulting each other?! Now that's just wrong in every way imaginable, goes against what we stand for.

  14. I know the term "closet case" orginated from homosexuals. But I feel as if the word is just unneeded. I have been called a closet brony many times by some of my IRL brony friends. I still love my friends, but the term just got on my nerves is all.

I think the main reason it's used is because it's become so comfortable to say, I'm sure people could figure out a different way to word it that says exactly what they mean but the problem is it's such a quick phrase. After all if I were to say "I still haven't admitted to everyone around me that I'm a Brony because I'm afraid of the kind of judgement I'll get" you know exactlly what I mean, however if I say "I'm a closet Brony" I've said the same thing but more quickly.

The term just kind of got stuck in Brony culture to describe those of us who haven't admitted to everyone they like the show (even when typing this I wanted to say both "came out" and "become open" which goes to show how ingrained they are) It's one of those things that doesn't look like it's going to change any time soon. :/

  15. Well when I use it it's because use it in the same way that some people are 'closet gays' etc. because fatten people use terms like 'coming out' etc, its an easy analogy to make. Besides what other term can be used for someone into the show but is afraid of showing it?

This pretty much explains it's use, it's not meant to be offensive toward anyone who's homosexual. It simply draws comparisons that you will face intolerance in letting others know you're a Brony, while the term was originally used to describe homosexuals it's now kind of spread out and is used in other places because of the convenient analogy. After all if you're a closet (insert anything here) it means you have some kind of attribute to you that you will face intolerance and be ostracized for by society. Is admitting to those around you you're a Brony going to bring the same level of hate upon you as telling the world you're gay? In most cases no, however it does invite a lot of it and in some cases people end up catching more flak than if they admitted to the world that they were openly gay. Such is the case between a few of my gay friends and myself where they've actively told me they'd rather be gay than a Brony as I catch more heat for it than they do for being gay, but I'm sure I'm in the minority. Either way it's used not because people are ashamed but rather they're afraid of the way they'll be judged by others and are afraid of the emotional pain undergoing that would cause them.

Just because the term originated with homosexuals doesn't mean that others facing hate can't use a comfortable term to describe being afraid of being judged unfairly by society. If anything thank the gays for giving the world a way to accurately and effectively convey a fear of intolerance from society for being different in such a short quick phrase.

  16. It's usually only referenced when talking to other Bronies (as in this case between us :)).

As a general rule of thumb:

EveryBODY is used in everyday life.

EveryPONY is used within the fandom or when talking to another Brony.

EveryONE is used in both the TV show and in real life, and thus can be used interchangeably. (Probably the way to go if you know a group of people is composed of part Bronies and part non-Bronies.)

That pretty much explains the general decorum of it lol.

It doesn't really bother me when people say it but I end up saying it very seldom simply because in most situations I have no need to say it. But it does slip in a few times depending on who I'm talking to.

  17. Brony kind of ended up a blanket term for any member of either gender who's a part of the fandom. So everyone can be identified as a Brony however some people would prefer Pegasister, doesn't really matter which one they say because in actuality they both apply.

  18. Wow that's not even remotely right....I'm with everyone else here, don't let them change who you are. If they actually love you they'll accept you for who you are and if they don't well...kind of answers that one itself huh? I get that they're concerned but they're going a bit far. So my advice? Do what everyone does with their parents and rebel, however do it in a Brony way rather than the negative connotations rebelling usually has.

  19. I still have not been busted, but I don't really care if I ever get busted I'll be glad to get busted by my family because then i can search pony stuff without them going "0_o"

You are right it is the only spec of light on the internet AT ALL (maybe the furry community are part of that spec?) I dont know but this small part of the internet is the best.

I'd say the furry community has enough people in it with similar mentalities as us to be considered a kind of brother speck of light lol. We go through a lot of the same kinds of prejudice and intolerance as they do. All I know is I've never found another group of people like this, totally different than there has ever been before.

Ugh. The whole "closet" brony idea annoys me. You like a bucking TV show, its not a big deal. Its not like you're admitting you're gay or something.

Surprisingly in this day and age you're actually teased less about being homosexual than you are for being a Brony as in recent years the Gay rights movement has caught on and more people are opening up their minds about it, simply put being gay is mostly accepted these days. This is based off of my experience as a Brony compared to the experiences of a few of my gay friends and a conversation we had about it, I can't say for sure it's the same everywhere but in my case being a Brony was met with more resistance than them being gay. But I do agree that it is silly to hide it, however some people just need time to accept that liking it isn't going to make them any less manly or anything and be comfortable with admitting it, gotta do away with old mentalities and such, ergo closet Bronies.

  20. But Dash didn't exist in G1 or G2, unless you're talking about Firefly.

We need more balance, though.  I get that dash is very popular, but so is Rarity, and I've seen only oen Rarity related piece of merch, as opposed to at least half a dozen for Dash.  Hell, I've seen more for Dr. Whooves than Rarity.

Then who was it I was seeing.....O.O lol guess I didn't know them as well as I thought. Ah well not a fan of previous gens anyway no point in figuring them out now lol.

And I agree, Rarity is severely underloved in the merchandising world, which made it difficult to find and buy my sister a birthday present. I see Dash everywhere or if not Dash Fluttershy.

  21. Lol honestly I think your friend should be the one embarrassed,  I'd never just walk over to my friend naked blasting the MLP theme...awkward.

I used to hide it too, mainly from family and friends since I didn't want to deal with any teasing but not quite to your extent. Once you let other people find out about it it's not a big deal really. Maybe for the first two weeks or so they'll tease you a bit but eventually they just think of it as a part of you. And if the person actually cares about you they let it drop. For me personally I feel better about myself for not keeping it a secret anymore, lifts a heavy burden off your shoulders and you're not forced to hide a part of yourself. And for me back when I was hiding it and people made fun of the show and Bronies I ended up feeling a deep sadness and like something was wrong with me and that no one would ever accept it and that did some self confidence and self esteem damage. All of that vanishes once it's out there and for the most part everyone accepts it, you still deal with haters but you stop caring what they think and just be yourself.

Fitting in is overrated and only exists in high school, once it's over you'll talk to exactly three of the people you thought were your best friends anyway since everyone moves on to different things. And you won't even remember your classmates names anymore either so they don't matter. Better to be unique and yourself and simply live by the mantra "haters gonna hate."

Being a Brony isn't something to be ashamed or embarrassed about, quite the opposite actually it's something to be proud of. Just take a look at the community around you right now, where else would a thread like this exist where people were offering actual help rather than trolling like mad and just trying to bash you for expressing any kind of emotion? Internet's a scary dark place and I think the Brony community is a speck of light in that.

  22. It's gotta be Dash, even in the old generations. Before I had ever watched FIM the only pony I could recognize or even know the name of was Rainbow Dash. Even when I was little and my sisters had toys from old gen 1 and 2 the only one I could name and recognize was Dash. She just stands out from the rest I suppose.
