So I rewatched the first two episodes of season 3 and then the last. I have to say, it makes a lot more sense - espeically with Luna waving Star Swirl's book at the end of the 2nd episode. I think the two things that really threw me off was 1) how the next step in twilight's training wasn't mentioned in the bulk of the season. With season 1, the grand galloping galla was brought a few times and it was known from the very beginning that it was going to happen. (It may have been known within the community from the beginning, but I only joined this forum and starting following any real news last week so...) Even just a line or two from Twilight or some pony saying how they wondered what Celestia meant by "the next step in her training". Just a little something to remind us that she would be going further. 2) the fact that she suddenly becomes not only an alicorn, but a princess. I mean I guess this is technically right since her brother married into the royal family and all but I wish they had gone into what being a princess meant earlier on or at least talked a bit about Celestia's role and how she became a princess. 

Anyway, my thoughts. I hope this all makes sense. I kinda pieced it together as I was watching the episodes. I'm sure more will be explained in season 4. 

I can't really decide between the mane 6. They all have characteristics that I not only relate to, but try to use in my everyday life to try and better myself. If I had to chose one pony I'd say Octavia- I am a very classical oriented musician myself. 

Having a real orchestra playing your music is the dream of every orchestral composer and I'd love it, but I don't have the money to pay for it, and there isn't too much people interested in doing things like that in my town.

The point of the youtube orchestra would be to avoid the money issue and the lack of interest. This video

 probably explains the process much better than I ever could. You'll probably want to start watching around the 4 minute mark. I imagine the process being similar, just with instrumentalists. 

Hope that explains things a little more? It would be a pretty big project, but I think it would be a lot of fun. 

Thank you both for the welcome! And yes I did create an OC. Her name is Toccata and she has dreams of opening a music store in Ponyville. I still haven't decided what her cutie mark is yet since I don't want to go with the generic treble clef. 

This is my first OC! Her name is Toccata and she comes from a long line of musicians and is probably a distant cousin of Octavia. She doesn't really have a cutie mark yet since I can't decide what I want her to do. She has a little brother named Fugue. I'm still working out her family tree.... 

It's ok! I'm not really sure what's going on either. We can be lost together!

I wanted to chose something that would reflect my OC (that I still need to create...). I know my cutie mark would be something with music (as I am a musician and I truly want it to be in my life forever). I didn't want to do anything too specific but still had to do with music.

Hello there, folks!

It's been some time, but I present to you my first new track of the year.

I uploaded this track around a month ago, but never made a post about it in here. You may or may not have heard it already (probably not though!), but still, I'm happy to share it now, with any of you who may be interested.

 

I've been having this idea of making a big orchestral piece around my mind for various months now, and I finally got the fully inspiration I needed for it some time ago- so, I started working on it, and I kept doing it for various consecutive days, trying to fully express both this inspiration and these feelings... and then, this track came out. It all started with a simple melody...

 

I'm going to be truly honest with you (and sorry if I'm being arrogant by saying this), but this track is, undoubtedly, the one I have most gotten into so far. I love it. It's really expressive, and I put a lot into it (and I'm not talking just about effort). I hope you can enjoy it as much as I enjoyed composing it, and I really hope you can feel the scenes, story, and feelings I've tried to put into it. The track name is all you need to make yourself an idea, and I won't tell you any further than that, because, as I usually say, half of the expression is shared by me, but the other half corresponds to you, the listeners, who perceive it in your own way, and give it your own shape.

First let me say this is fabulous composing. 

I have no idea if this would be a long shot buuuut it's the internet. I'm kind of assuming that this is a midi version of an orchestra playing (or something similar. I really don't know that much about the technology side of music.) Anywho, would you be interested in doing a "youtube symphony" version of this? Similar to Eric Whitacres choir or the youtube symphony? It would take a lot of effort and hard work, but it would be a really cool way to transform this piece and bring it to another level. 

I started watching the show about a year ago and decided to take a greater part in the community overall. Up until now I've only been watching the show. Thinking of creating an OC sometime....
