I dunno why but this made me laugh. Anyway.. It wouldn't be the same without the two. Rarity's my 3rd favorite pony so I wouldn't be too fond of her no longer being part of mane six. Applejack is well kinda bland.....

I Already dislike Twilicorn so no 1. Why would Equestria need 9 princesses? 2. I like them as earth ponies, pegasi and unicorns a unicorn 3. Alicorns were supposed to be rare (as said by Faust) and I like her idea, Cadence wasn't even supposed to be one.
