Hi, Bumling, glad to meet you! It's interesting to meet someone who's familiar with the older series. Don't worry about your post being a ramble; nothing could be worse than my first. By the way, you caught my attention when you said you especially liked making new RPG characters. Is this your favorite part of roleplaying, being able to change into someone or something fantastic, redefining oneself at a whim? Also, are there any YouTube commentators that you especially like, audiophilically speaking?

Hello, I am Tamerlane, but you can just call me Tam. I'm a Hong Kong native from birth and at heart and a mild fan of MLP (never watched a full episode though love the characters and writing)... but here is where things will get a little disturbing. I have made- or, more honestly, been compelled to make- an account on the MLP forums in order to discuss personal problems that I have been having in relation to non-canon material. This and my confession right now may be drastic, but my hand has been forced by the severity of my turmoil. However, I am not able to post directly to the 'Personal advice' section of the forums due to the '40 post' rule. While I understand its necessity, this is a tall order for me due to my reserved nature and the fact that I know next to nothing about the general storyline. Thus, I humbly request any advice you can give me regarding discussion of personal issues. Thank you for your understanding attention, and I hope I can resolve my conflicts here and soothe my inner discord.
