My favorite pony is Rainbow Dash. I love her energy and independence.
My second favorite is Princess Luna, because she's so beautiful and awkward.
My favorite episode is Baby Cakes, because the bb!ponies are the most adorable things ever.
My second favorite episode is Luna Eclipsed, because A, Luna, and B, PIPSQUEAK. We need more Pipsqueak.
I want to see Hippocampi in MLP:FIM, because they're cool. And more of those ponies? horses? from Saddle Arabia, because they're beautiful.
On television I also love Doctor Who {Ten is my Doctor}, and the Big Bang Theory.
I love to read. I always have a book to hand. Mostly Fantasy and Science Fiction. I find most of my reading in the YA section in the library. The Hunger Games, and other diastopic fiction fascinate me. Twilight does not. I like to see strong female characters that aren't trapped in boring love storys. I love rewritten fairy tales. And Mythology.
I am currently fangirling really hard over Marvel's Avengers and those related movies, and the Star Trek reboot. {twelve days!}
I'm a geek. My uniform is jeans, converse and t-shirts advertising the stuff I love, like AC/DC, Captain America, the TARDIS and Thirty Seconds to Mars. I like to analyze things {Like why Loki is such a hot mess, and for that matter, why Tony Stark is one as well.} and share things I've learned. I love to talk about things I've learned, and things I'm interested in. I love color. And flowers. And lego.
My parents despair of me ever growing up. They don't see that I'm also a responsible adult that has held a job and supported herself and not gotten buried in debt. I reject their paradigm.
Science fascinates me. Art amazes me. Math boggles me. Dance inspires me.
I want to learn things, not because they might be useful in a career, but because they're interesting. I want to study physics and astronomy and yoga. I want to run a little used bookstore where people can talk about books and drink tea. I want a garden full of flowers and streams and beautiful things. I don't want to mow the lawn, because long healthy grass is beautiful.
I love the ocean, standing on the shore is like coming home.
I love the stars, I look up and see our future.

Honestly, I'm less concerned with the ZOMG she's a Princess thing than I am with the fact that apparently Alicorns can live thousands of years without changing. I figure, Twilight can be a Princess anywhere, she doesn't have to be in Canterlot, or Ponyville or even the Crystal Empire, just where her friends are. My concern is her friends. The normal ponies/pegasi/unicorns. Who are already growing up, and maybe a bit away from each other, starting with Rainbow Dash going away to Wonderbolt camp. They're gonna get old, and they're going to have families, and eventually die. While Twilight, being an Alicorn, might have the same extended lifespan as Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, who have lived Thousands. Of. Years. How good are you going to be as a Princess talented at Magic as it's represented by Friendship {even her cutiemark rather shows this, I think. Six Stars surrounding the big star that is magic} when you know that, every time you make a friend, that friend is going to grow old and die? As to the other question, of Rainbow Dash's major talent being weather or flying or whatever, I think they would have done better to give Fluttershy RB's cutiemark, because RB is all about the daring tricks and flying fast and stuff. The weather stuff is just the only part of what RB does that Rarity could emulate. The rest would still be equally stymied by each other's jobs/talents.
