  1. The list is long, but here are a few:

While I care about people and love a few of them, I lack empathy and can't really care about peoples emotional problems. I'd like people to be happy, but I just can't be arsed. I will always act friendly, though, and I have never hated anyone in my life. I don't even know if I dislike anybody.

I have an irrational anexiery when it comes to phone calls. It doesn't even matter if I'm speaking with a close friend, I just don't like phones.

I frequently forget to brush my teeth.

  2. As another traitor, I can relate. I hadn't wathed MLP for about 3 years (or so), but decided to rewatch the whole thing, and catch up with the new stuff! Rebronyfication is a quick and almost painless process free of charge. I had a friend or two here when I was (doing insult to the word) active, but they have left for new adventures. Some new friends and discussion will happen almost automatically here, so no biggie! I hope you enjoy, and don't feel any pressure :twi:

Glad to have ya! Welcome and all that... Now catch up on those episodes!

  3. Wow! An OG gen1:er!

During the dark ages, I avoided MLP like the plague. I've never been much for being manly, but pink horses in a fantasy land felt like a step too far. :toldya:

I used to have a swordsmith as a roomie a few years back. He was nice, but he also broke our mirror, door and fire alarm (slain by sword) in addition to throwing some dorm furniture out the balcony. He had a thing for damasc (No idea if that works in english), and he made some messers. All quite impressive work...

Oh. I'm going off the tangents like a mathematician on a rave. We're glad to have you, and of course, glad that you see that Applejack is the best pony!

    Welcome to the forums!

  4. YESSS! :D

I half expected we wouldn't get any more seasons. I just came back from a long MLP break, and had almost 3 seasons to catch up to! Naturally, I watched all previous episodes first, to jog my memory a few laps. (Excluding S1, as I saw it about 5 times waiting for S2...) The time it took to find a non-shady source to sream the movie from is more than I care to admit, but now I have no ponies left. I got the impression it was Equestria Girls for the whole gem cake from now on, but......

YESSS! I can't believe I'd get this excited for this show again, but when ponies attack, mercy is in scant supply.

  5. This is REALLY REALLY hard. I think I'm becoming more involved with the fandom than what is healthy.

Rarity DOES have a really fabulous cut, but there's something about Pinkie's mane that seems so cozy. Like cotton candy or something. I can't really decide between those two, so I'll have to go with... Ah, no. False alarm.

Twilight's and RD's are pretty awesome too, but not nearly as appealing as the ones above. I have a hard time deciding here too, but I think it's leaning more towards Twilight's... (Or maybe RD's?)

Then we have Fluttershy and AJ's at the bottom. I like those too, but the other ones are just too good.

    TLDR:

Sorry, AJ :( Don't kick me in the face.

  6. Reply to OP:

Since when did people become good or evil? The part where you said she was "teached" to be evil, isn't that how it always is? You don't learn things on your own, and how silly it may sound, you just don't come up with opinions on your own. People in your vicinity, especially in your early years form a large part of your personality. Both directly ind indirectly.

So I see it like this: Changelings feed on ponies. Humans feed on pigs.

Of course you could argue that our way is more "humane" in that we don't wipe out the entire species, but we do that out of rationallity rather than kindness. If we keep pigs alive we can eat more pigs later.

Oh, and I'm not a vegetarian. I love meat.... mm... yummy.

Edit: But in the world of fiction: Yes. She was evil, and she had more going on than just the survival of her race.

  7. I also started watching this show kinda like a joke, but suddenly I had watched all the episodes that had been uploaded, and was eagerly waiting for more (and MOOOORE).

So yeah, without further alcoholics: Welcome to the forums, mon!

  8. Wow. I have never watched any of the old generation media, so it was all kinda new to me. He made a seemingly boring subject fun, but thats just maybe because like the new generation, and history is interesting sometimes.

Is all of his videoes this good, or is this the only one?

  9. Spruce trees. It's wonderful. Whiskey also has to be one of the best smells ever, and one reason for that may be all the good memories it brings back. I also find the smell of melting tin strangely appealing.

Hm, yes. And many types of pipe tobaccoes, and they actually smell even better before lit.

  10. I'm more like this:

Me: "I just met this awesome bloke downtown. We smoked pipe and discussed progressive jazz-metal!"

Friend: "Wow! What did he look like?"

Me: Err. uhm. I'm not sure. Maybe he didn't.... even look like?...

I usually don't think of (or even notice) how people look if I don't think about it. Or if they don't have a KICKASS BEARD or something.

Well... The face of a pretty lass won't slip either, I'll have to admit.

  11. Honestly, I had thought that Rainbow Dash had kissed Fluttershy, and I was like LOL WUT cause I was certain that sort of thing would not be shown on TV. However, I do not think a friend kissing another friend with such a quick peck (especially in the happy, relieved emotional moment of having saved her from harm in battle) would signify anyone being gay. I also am not offended at all by references of Rainbow Dash being a lesbian or bi, because I believe there is no offense with such a thing. Some of my gay friends find it so strange that everyone automatically assumes they are straight unless they tell people otherwise. I don't know Rainbow Dash's sexuality, nor do I care in the slightest, because no matter what she is, nothing is wrong with it.

Think about kissing close family members (usually on the cheek or forehead) and kissing extremely-close friends in the same manner in dire situations (extremely close friend is very sick, haven't seen in forever-ever, or one just saved the other's life in a desperate moment where you could have witnessed them maimed and murdered) and really it's not so strange.

Despite evidence of the screen shots with the timing of the sound, I view it as Rainbow kissing Fluttershy in relief at saving her unharmed (and the mistimed screen shots and sound being the show saving its plot from lawsuits galore about the evils of whatever). Plus, light travels faster than sound - things are often seen before heard (though usually at much greater distances... lol).

I don't read anything into the kiss, though. I don't find it relevant to sexuality; I find it relevant to caring very much about someone. Caring very much about someone, of course, does NOT always lead to sexual things. Think of your own life and how many people you care very deeply about that you would never dream of being 'involved' with, related or not, sexual-preference-gender or not.

I thought it was cute

    Wow...

I read through this thread thinking ^that^. I mean, exactly those things. All of them.

Very well put. Thanks for saving me the effort! :D

  12. I'm not quite sure why, but I liked the first season more. Maybe, as mentioned above, the greater focus on one character per episode is a factor. The musical numbers in season 1 is still way better than the new ones, but that's simply because they're AWESOME (And I usually hate musical scenes in cartoons).

I really enjoyed season 2 as well, though, so I had to give it some thought. My favourite episodes are Applebuck Season, Look Before You Sleep, Winter Wrap Up, Party of One and the finale from the first season, and Return of Harmony 1-2, Lesson Zero, Luna Eclipsed and Read it and Weep from the second.

  13. I think many Bronies are overreacting. Many say things along the lines of "They destroyed my view of Pinkie.", but it's not canon.

I believe it's just something someone wrote when (s)he was bored. Nothing more than that.

And my opinion on the fic? Well... it was so-so.

  14. I actually watched the first episode first (!)

I'm actually a bit with Blue here, but I'll develop it a bit more :P

At first, I kind of liked Twilight as a character. She seemed semi neurotic, while still being a pretty cool gal. I liked her "Everypony in this town is CRAYZEY!". But I didn't feel like her whole personality had developed yet, and it was pretty obvious she'd make friends and barf rainbows everywhere. Keep in mind that I didn't even like FiM at this point. I just wanted to give it a chance.

I had some mixed feelings for Pinkie. I liked her introduction part, and I smiled a little when she had a party in Twilights' house. I didn't think she was too over the top. Maybe a little, but not so much that I wanted to throw the monitor through the window. I cringed a little at Giggle at the Ghostly, it being a song and all (I've never liked those musical parts in cartoons until I saw FiM. This show converted me.) In some of the following (4-ish) episodes I started to like her less, but it turned around after a while.

I liked Applejack from the start. Social laidbackishness is a great plus, and she seemed more realistic than most other cartoon characters. In Applebuck Season I got to know her a bit more, and got a bit turned off by her stubbornness, but all in all she remained my favorite. Her accent helped too :)

Rainbow Dash Swept me away instantly. I really liked her attitude. But later on (around Dragonshy (which is also around where I realized I actually like this show)), she became too much of a bitch, and I felt she weren't that interesting anymore.

I initially liked Raritys character too, even though I wouldn't like her as a person at that point. She contributed to the show, and brought a few smiles to me. I tend to like characters a bit on the arrogant, narcissistic side, and she struck me as one. Her voice really caught me off guard as well, and it's still one of the best voices in cartoon history IMO.

Fluttershy felt kinda "meh". Yeah, she's cute and quiet. But what else? She gained some plus points in everfree forest, and she have gradually grown on me with her moments.

Yeah. That wasn't what I were going to say at all, but I'm too lazy to write more. My opinion on the characters are different now. On a note, I've liked Spike from the beginning.

    And Applejack is best pony.

  15. So that puts Applejack>Rarity.

I agree that Fluttershy appears oldest when she gets her cutiemark, so I'd put her as oldest. Even if she was in the same class as Rainbow Dash, from what we've seen of her flying abilities, its not out of the realm of possibility that she was held back a couple years.

    Fluttershy>Applejack>Rarity

I agree with this. I had some doubts, but this cleared it up pretty well.

Also, I think Twilight is not that far behind, she's mature and looks a bit older than RD and Pinkie, but somehow I think Pinkie is the oldest of the three. Maybe even older, seeing as she's just one year younger than Fluttershy.

Or maybe Fluttershy just looks older in the flashback that she is.

This could make it: Applejack - Rarity - Fluttershy - Twilight - Pinkie - RD

    Still not sure, though.
