  1. I sleep with nothing except my bed of course. Last time I slept with something was the summer of 2009, in army cadets at Camp Blackdown at CFB Borden, when a rival company threatened the company I was in with a night attack I prepared myself by putting an extra metal lock in a sock and put it under my pillow so that I could sleep well with the esteem of a Spartan. They didn't go through with it though so nothing happened. True story.
  2. I only heard about this recently. As a Canadian it's neat that Canada is the second largest contributor of colonist. Anyway, in general I think the idea is amazing. Personally though, f**k that, I say this because it's a one way trip meaning if I were to go than I would never see earth again. I love earth and it's natural treasures too much and would probably go insane on Mars due to things like not able to breath freely outside without a space suit. We should wait until we can make atmosphere processors from the movie "Aliens" a reality so as to make the atmosphere breathable and we should also wait until we have ships that can go back and forth.
  3. For the year of 2014. Destiny, Alien: Isolation, Minecraft (Xbox One). Alien: Isolation I am particularly excited for since it's recent official announcement. Was in development since 2011 and is playable now, will be released late 2014. I've been a fan of Alien since I was a young teen, and Aliens: Colonial Marines made me very bitter and I really dislike Gearbox and Randy Pitchford with a passion. Before release they boasted and showed that this game would be great, turned out to be a piece of garbage that was falsely advertised, the fans were basically baited into buying a product that was poor and even Michael Biehn who voiced Corporal Hicks (and played Corporal Hicks in the movie "Aliens") had criticism of his own for how the game turned out. When I began hearing about Alien: Isolation in 2013 naturally I was bitter about it due to the impact A:CM left behind. But with the very recent release of a trailer and some gameplay I felt some hope once more. Being released late 2014, this game takes a very different direction and looks more to the "Alien" atmosphere instead of "Aliens" like previous games. Rather than being a shooter it is a survival horror game and reminds some people of Amnesia or Outlast. In this game there is no alien "fodder" like in previous games, noooo, there is only 1 alien, it can't be killed, you have no weapons, and it tries to hunt you down in a claustrophobic environment, gameplay is expected to last 12+ hours. The alien itself is terrifying and it's movements and choices are always changing, and you can't just speed run through the game as once it detects you by sight or even hearing and you just try to run for life you die because it's faster than you. In previous games gamers instinctively sought out the aliens to shoot them, in Alien: Isolation gamers playing what gameplay was available immediately got the message that this was a terrifying creature that you never want to meet. The story, particularly the Amanda Ripley (daughter of Ellen Ripley) part, I am not really convinced with, but because of the gameplay I'm willing to give it a chance. With this plus the complete lack of a Gearbox logo (I've heard good things about Creative Assembly) I am excited for late 2014. 4. I love Rooster Teeth/Achievement Hunter. Here's a Best Let's Plays of 2013 from them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoU-w8e3bLQ Edit: Oh, someone else already posted it.
  5. No, I would not die happy at all because that would be just sad and depressing given my current situation.
  6. English is my first language. I once knew some Canadian French since it was a mandatory class in school, but I have forgotten most of it.
  7. One tradition my family is that the "Santa" (person who takes gifts from under the tree and hands them out, one for each individual at a time) is always the "man of the house", or if Dad is for some reason absent than the eldest son (me) fills the role. We always gather around gifts when we all wake up, but before we can begin with the presents we first have to look through our stockings. That's what I can think of at the moment.
  8. Fake, just for practical reasons, and it's not bad looking either. I did always have a real tree since I was born and into my teens. Maybe one day the real tree will return in the future when it feels like a good idea.
  9. "That's just how I roll". Simple and to the point.
  10. I have this as my desktop and as well as my phone background. I also have the Friendship is Magic theme for Xbox 360 (but am currently using something else), and I currently have an Applejack avatar item.
  11. Skyrim I'm a level 47 Nord warrior and I have just defeated Karstaag. I wearing Carved Nordic Armour with a total armour rating of 807 and also have a Stalhrim shield with an armour rating of 111. For weapons I have a Skyforge Steel Sword (114 damage), Enhanced Crossbow (84 damage, ignores 50% of enemy armour), Stalhrim Dagger (112 damage), and Stalhrim War Axe (124 damage). Thinking of maybe switching back to Wolf Armour because I'm attached to it. (armour ratings: cuirass = 304, gauntlets = 142, boots = 142, helmet = 158, total with the perks is 745, 856 with Stalhrim Shield) Previously defeated Alduin, Harkon, and Miraak. Still haven't done the civil war but traditionally I usually side with the Imperial Legion. Also recently I destroyed the Dark Brotherhood and found the Aetherial Crown. I have 74059 gold due to a lack of spending.
  12. Finished and passed Fisheries Management and Wildlife Technologies, now it's my long break time!

  13. 2 days 1 night. I'm fond of sleep so I'm not the biggest fan of missing out on a night's sleep.
  14. Colour me intrigued, tell me more about this site. I've been worrying about where I was going to watch new episodes because youtube has always been the only place I watched the show, as I don't know of any other place. In fact I was going to begin season 4 sometime on my Christmas break after my last final exams in college tomorrow. Then this nonsense happens...
  15. Was actually just talking about this in my status. It's directly problematic because youtube is the only way that I watch Friendship is Magic and I was going to start season 4 on the weekend after my last final exams tomorrow, now it's a lot more difficult to find anything (got some help for the first 4 episodes though). I really hope this doesn't last, and I especially hope this doesn't effect folks like Rooster Teeth/Achievement Hunter. But this is wishful thinking.
  16. Anyone else noticing a lack of FiM:Season 4 on youtube? When I saw AngryJoes latest vid it was the first thing I went to check because that was my weekend plan after my last week of this college semester and notcied a lack of season 4 epsiodes. Is it because of youtube's new copyright bullcrap or do I need to be a little more patient? I hope it's not youtube because that's the only place I watch the show. I might be in a state of denial too.

Thanks, that was helpful. But there still is not sign of episode 3. Youtube... wtf. I didn't want to believe it but it's true they've gone and done something stupid. I wonder what I'm supposed to do now to see the show as youtube was the only way I ever did it.

Ah, thanks for the links, Arabic subtitles is kinda annoying but in times like these I'll take what I can get.

  17. My advice for college or university, when you get work get it done (especially if it's a project over the summer, start that right away), don't take the first half of the semester for granted as those early and even small marks can save you later (the loss of those marks can come back to bite you in the ass) and take notes in lectures. Failed 3 classes this semester and maybe 4. Gonna have to remember these lessons I have learned/show no mercy for next semester and an additional 3rd y...

I've been there. It's a lot of work. Be dedicated to it and show some restraint with time wasters. (that's my biggest problem) Another thing is don't aim to pass, aim to ace. That way if you miss, you'll still pass. ^_^

  18. Rugby practice in a wall, we weren't allowed on the fields yet due to winter effecting them and the gyms were taken by girls teams so us few Rugby guys that stayed practiced in a hall. There's one part of the hall where it has windows on both sides but then when go more "into" the main building the wall sort of "pops out". I was running forward and then looking backwards waiting for someone to throw the ball then as I'm looking forward again I had charged right into the wall unintentionally. Not my brightest moment.
  19. I go to college and here there pretty much isn't homework, but here is the catch, if you don't put in work on your own time and if you don't do quality studying on your own time then you're pretty much doomed. Poor time management can especially be your worse enemy.
  20. My username was created not only based on desiring a good pony sounding name (cause why not), but it is also based on my real full name, their individual meanings combined. First name = "Brave Power/Strong Leader", Middle name = "Resolute Protector", and my Last name = "Home Protector". Combined together after much thought (and some inspirational exploring in Skyrim, firstly hanging out in an iron mine and how someone in it described iron - secondly how I am glued to playing with shield/heavy armour), I came up with "Iron Shield" as my username (more than one place), pony name and it's also a part of my name for my main Skyrim character, the Nord hero, sword and shield wielding Richard Iron-Shield. I actually cherish it as a lot of thought and meaning was put into it, and it's 10 times better than something like "Prince Thorn" (result of putting my name in a pony name generator). It's also fitting because it reflects my character as I as a person am strong, steadfast, faithful and protective. Yep, lots of thought.
  21. I haven't been paying attention to such things, mainly because...
  22. I don't think anyone has ever misspelt "Richard" to my knowledge.
  23. Hehe, I just had Empire vs Ewoks pop in my head when thinking about this a little more. Old beating new, though I'm doubtful of it, would be quite something.
