We see lots of arcs being changed this season. Could be for the end of the story arc, or just a differen't turn for the series. Both have good arguments. I think either the show will make some major turns in the series to change the story, or the story is ending. I think ultimately next season we will know. There is evidence for both. So we can't really tell. In one hand arcs are being concluded, on the other hand they could arguably just being changed not concluded. The finale for season 5 mentions a time spell in which starlight changes the timeline if I'm right. They could use this to change the story and possibly keep their memories to take FiM in a much different direction. Or create new stories while keeping their old memories for some fun episodes.
