After reading your post more carefully, I now know what you are asking.
You are asking how to add an image to your signature.

All you have to do is click the image button in the formatting options.

 
You will get a popup window like this:

Paste the image URL in the URL box, click OK, and it should show up in your signature.

Or if you are really lazy, copy and paste this into your signature.

I am assuming you are talking about adding an Avatar/Profile Picture, if so look in the spoiler below.
 
 
 
If you are actually talking about making an image for your Avatar/Profile Picture, simply use Paint or Photoshop. The limits are 150x150px, and up to 100 KB file size.

I figured I would post this. I always find it easier following videos instead of pictures and text.
 


You might want to increase the quality of the video if you can.

I don't use an iPhone myself anymore, but you could try using another browser. You could also try looking through Safari settings and see if you can clear the cache and see if that does anything for you.
