  1. Getting psyched for this game, I only got into smash on the Wii(hadn't owned a Nintendo console since the SNES). Loved everything about it and spent way time with the title than I thought I would. Although I do love a good fighting game. While I don't have a Wii U I'll be glad have the new smash find a home on my 3DS.
  2. Used to enjoy it quite a bit, I still remember when it first came out here. Haven't seen an episode in years though so I'm not sure how much has changed. I still remember it's what got me into World of Warcraft, that was a GREAT episode.
  3. 1)Insects abd spiders - Most I can handle, but things like roaches and wasps freak me out 2)Losing my mind as I get older - I would hate to go senile as I age, got to keep that brain active as possible 3)Sharks - I actually like sharks, but every time I swim in the ocean I get so freaked out that something can come from below me.
  4. Gaz-Works on Steam. Feel free to add me and feel free to chat, would be great to talk to more bronies! Normally go a bit quiet when in game though and sometimes I'm a bit busy. Multiplayer wise I'm easy. Killing Floor, Street Fighter, Street Fighter X Tekken, Injustice, King of Fighter XIII, Mortal Kombat, Skullgirls, Borderlands 2...the list goes on.
  5. The original Knights of the Old Republic is probably number 1, but Legend of Mana is damn close Runners up would be Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, Mass Effect 2, Most of the Pokemon Series, Fallout New Vegas, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 9, Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger and Morrowind. Plus on the MMO front I'd have to say WoW. It's a little cliche, but I have such good memories of the guild I was in and the fun we had!
  6. 1)Goodra: Goodra is AMAZING. I love the design, I love the idea of a slimy dragon and it's a great final evolution to a really weird chain of slug pokemon. Busy doing fan art of it at the moment. 2)Rapidash: My favourite pokemon type is fire, there are so many great fire types. Rapidash takes it for me, especially if you get the shiny version with blue flames. 3)Sawsbuck: I love deer and antelope so Sawsbuck was a natural favourite. I also love the different variants we see as the seasons change, great concept. Plus deerling is ADORABLE 4)Zebstrika: There aren't a lot of electric types that I actually like(not even Jolteon), but Zebstrika looks awesome, just enough to beat out Luxray in my opinion. 5)Lapras: Lapras is that great mix of cute and cool, I'm just surprised she hasn't been given an evolution yet. 6)Charmander: First pokemon I ever picked and a favourite from the show, plus his evolutions are so badass!
  7. Superhero has to be Gambit for Marvel and Green Lantern(Hal and John) for DC. Hellboy is fantastic too. Supervillain: Magneto and Killer Frost
  8. Toss up between a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate. Not averse to iced coffee, milkshakes or other cold beverages either. I love the cold!
  9. Resolved this year to clear out my steam backlog so I kicked it off with Saints Row 3. Pretty good so far, but so many filler missions. Also occasionally hearthstone, but as someone who likes physical card games I'm having a hard time spending cash on a virtual one. Otherwise Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum, Europa Universalis IV and some Bloodbowl. Pokemon X on the 3DS, first pokemon game I've played in years and I ADORE it. Fantastic stuff. Been yearning for a board game weekend with friends though...everyone just seems so busy of late.
  10. Luxray, Pyroar and Mienshao Luxray is my fave out of those though.
  11. I could really do with some decent sleep right now myself! Not a lot happening this week, I'd imagine it's because the massive SPIEL convention is happening in Essen next week and we'll be seeing loads of news and new games! In the mean time below the break you'll be able to find morphing ships, aliens, gold digging and mountain climbing! Read more »
  12. Spike it's time for the kickstarter round up, take notes! It's Monday once more and that means it's time for some kickstarters! Today we have some dragon coins, giant eyeballs, digital cards, ramaging kaiju and a push your luck card game. Check them out after the break! Read more »
  13. Shout it from the rooftops fillies and gentlecolts, it’s the weekend once more! That means it’s game time! I’m going to be have a couple of friends over at my place the weekend so I fully expect it to be a weekend of chilling, eating junk food and board gaming. Expect a write up about it next week! This weekend I’ll be breaking out Eclipse and it’s expansion Rise of the Ancients. It’s quite a heavy space game, second only to Twilight Imperium and I’ve been running through the rulebook in preparation for Saturday. Small World and it’s expansion is on the cards too, Cyclades is a favourite of mine and I love it when it hits the table. Plus it has Pegasus in it. I also secured a copy of the Summoner Wars Master Set and it looks like a fantastic two player tactical card game with some really cool fantasy races. What about guys? Feel free to say what you’ll be playing over the weekend be it board, card or video games in the comments or after the link below! The Board Gamer Brony
  14. Looking up at the stars people have, for generations, been asking “Are we alone in the universe?” It’s a deep question that conjures up images from science fiction and fantasy. Strange looking aliens flying massive ships through the vast empty void. Planets filled with exotic life. Treacherous asteroid fields and clouds of cosmic dust. All jump to mind. Cosmic Encounter doesn't answer that question at all. Cosmic Encounter is a game of small scale galactic conquest driven by negotiations, bluffing and a fair bit of betrayal. The game actually has quite a legacy behind it. The very first incarnation of the game was published in 1977, the second release of the game arrived in 1992 and most recently it was republished by Fantasy Flight in 2008. It’s garnered quite a following, the real question is does it deserve that following? Read more »
  15. Hello everypony and welcome to the first forum entry of The Board Gamer Brony! Basically I have created a blog focused on table top games of all kinds in the hopes that I'll be able spread the awesomeness of the hobby into the brony community. Now I know a lot people out there are sighing since the first thing that often jumps into a persons mind when talking about board games is monopoly. Trust me there are some fantastic games out there. Games which let you dungeon crawl, build cities, conquer continents, get people eaten by sharks and SO much more. If you're at a little interested check out the main blog over here(just click on the banner) Every time I update I'll post the intro of the post here and anypony interested enough is more than welcome to have a look! Comments are always appreciated! And if you're already interested take a look at this initial post where I elaborate on why I think board games and ponies fit so well together: Of Dice, Cards and Ponies Till next time guys! Have fun and play more games!
  16. Good old Cape Town, South Africa Haha, I see I'm the only one in Africa according to the pole. We do have a decent brony presence down this side of the world. Pretty jealous of all the awesome cons overseas though
  17. Civilization V and it's expansions. Permanently installed on my PC definitely my favourite series. A little DotA2, while not new to MOBAs I haven't played one in ages. Ace Patrol pretty decent, if somewhat bland, turn based game from Firaxis. Plus some Pokemon SoulSilver due to all they hype about X and Y.
  18. For me personally, there are three time periods I'd love to check out. First stop would be the dawn of the universe, that would be mind blowing. Then I'd love to see the dinosaurs during the Jurassic or Cretaceous period. Finally I'd love to experience Rome during the height of the roman empire. Always been fascinated by the classical era.
  19. Thanks for the greetings all! Thanks for the compliment on my work, that Rarity was gift art for a friend of mine. She had a tough time that week and deserved a little bit of a pick me up. Should grab some friends and jam some Small World, it's not all monopoly and scrabble! There's a board game out there for anyone!
  20. Heya all! So I've been in the brony community for about two years. I'm a total geek love games both table top and video, adore art and animation and a whole lot more that would take forever to list! I've created quite a bit of pony art which can be found at my DeviantArt page over here. More recently I've started a pony themed blog about board games with the intention of getting as many bronies into the hobby as possible! That can be found here. Basically I was just browsing around the net and decided that it's time I joined a brony forum with the intention of making some awesome online friends. Been a while since I've been a member of any forum. So, yeah, looking forward to chatting!
