Thoughts on Astrology and what's your star sign?
SlightlyWinged replied to squareyes's topic in General Discussion
Pisces. And for the Chinese Zodiac, get this: I'm a horse! -
Personally, I think most everyone (everypony?) is mentally weak enough to be brought into a cult. Most of it depends on what they offer. Take real life cults for example. Most are religious in nature and offer salvation, but a few offer safe communities. Some offer power ("Join me and I'll make you my right hand man!") and for certain men, they offer as many women/wives they want. Whether they follow through on these isn't important, what's important to the cults is gaining as many followers as possible. So they'll offer whatever appeals to the person.

Ahuizotl (from the episode Daring Don't) is based of an Aztec creature: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahuizotl_(creature) I, uh, know a lot about myths. Anyway, I imagine his species would originate from Equestria's version of South America. I've heard headcanons where Celestia and Luna don't actually raise the sun and moon, they rotate naturally, and that the other races know this. :okiedokielokie: And other headcanons about how once the sun and moon are lowered beyond the horizon, Celestia and Luna don't control it anymore. So many questions. -_-

I agree with Fhaolan that I've always envisioned Equestria as their equivalent of North America. I also assumed that since Griffons are to the east, they're British/English. Does explain Gustav and his accent, though it doesn't explain Gilda. Maybe Gilda grew up in Equestria? So many questions, it'd be nice if we got an episode where the Mane Six traveled to a different country.

I had an Alicorn OC, with a personal headcanaon (that people claimed actually made sense!) but he disappeared around the time Twilight became an Alicorn and my headcanon fell to bits. His name was Mortal Bonds, he was black (or dark grey? Not as dark as Nightmare Moon) with a white mane and a ghost Cutie Mark. His talent was helping lead lost souls (ghosts) to the afterlife. ...No, he wasn't the Grim Reaper, he didn't kill ponies. They died on their own, and he led their spirits to the afterlife. Anyway my headcanon was that Alicorns were basically a race of physical Gods nearly as numerous as the other three races. But around the time Discord was turned to stone, a mysterious illness wiped them out. A few, such as Celestia, Luna, their mother Faust, and Mortal's parents survived. A random villager found Mortal wandering around one day and word of it spread to Celestia. She took the young Alicorn in and found out that his mother and father were rather old when they had him, his father dying a year after he was born and his mother dying when he was around 7-8. He told her how one morning, his mother told him she had to go, though she didn't know where. So he led her to a strange light that was always at the edge of his vision. He never saw her again. Through a few more conversations and questions, Celestia found that not only could the young colt see the dead, but lead them to the afterlife as well. After a few months teaching him manners and politics, she proclaimed him a Prince of Equestria. But his dark appearance, nocturnal schedule, and habit of talking to "himself" made him quite unpopular. Eventually he renounced his royal status and became a recluse, exploring the less populated areas of the castle and only going out in the dead of night. Holy crap, sorry for dumping you guys with his whole story. I didn't mean to!

A story idea started forming in my mind, but before I can even begin to work on it more, I encountered a problem; a majority of the story takes place outside Equestria. All I have to go on it the official map of equestria, where it shows that griffins and dragons live to the east. Also the episode "Magic Duel" mentions Saddle Arabia, where horses are from. Besides that, I've got speculation and fanon. That the place where zebras come from is called Zebrica, that dragons live in a place called the Badlands. I don't read the comics or books, so any extra tidbits are helpful. The story will mostly take place where Zebras and Dragons dwell, and possibly Equestria.

My dream is to become good enough at art that I can make a decent living off it. Not saying I want to become famous, like Michelangelo or Van Gogh, but to sell enough artwork a month that I can live off it? That's my dream. Immediate goals: Get into an Artist Alley (Self) Publish my second book Go to Bronycon!

I know I shouldn't be surprised at all the friendly people (ponies?), but I am. A good kind of surprised, of course.

I'm gonna go back and read through this, since all the good stories I've read have gone on hiatus or been cancelled. But first, a few favorites of mine: A Voice Among the Strangers One of the few great "HiE" (Human in Equestria) stories. Twisted Tales Through Time Too bad it's on hiatus. Book of Days Haven't read the whole thing, but what I have read is *glorius* -

Wow, three replies already! I spruced up my profile a bit, and made an avatar from a drawing of my oc. Hopefully I don't look so plain anymore. I write plenty of non-MLP stuff, but when it comes to MLP stories, I draw a blank for some reason. It's strange. I'm going to look around the other forums now, but already this place looks fun and friendly.

I've been an MLP fan for a couple years, and never thought of joining a forum for it until now. Weird. Anyway, I'm Lindsay. Call me whatever you like. I like creating OCs. I'd like to write stories but man, I can never seem to think up a plot for one. Anyway, hope to have fun here!
