Bronies In The Wild: Brony Spotting Experiences
mike_echo5276 replied to EP1C N3RD's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Outside of the university brony group i belong to, i have only seen one in the wild I had the inverse situation of Cassafrass. I was at the theatre with my wife and daughter watching how to train your dragon 2, when a young pegasister with a pony hoody, and sweet custom dj pon3 head phones sat in the row in front of us. I wanted to say "i love your head phones, but i am 31 and i am guessing she was 13 or 14. Now I am a dad myself so i knew if I said anything her father might want to knock me out, which i would understand. I dont want a random grown man talking to my little girl either. Lol. So i just stayed quiet. -
Just been thinking for most of the day, and figured i would address everyone saying the pony fandom wont be around to justify tattoos. Here are quie a few fandoms, and subjects that have made great tattoos, and withstood the test of time. Star wars, star treck, dr who g i joe, transformers james dean betty paige, marilyn monroe, betty boop, pop eye, disney animation, band related tats inspired by the rolling stones pink floyd, led zepplin, iron maiden, tribal bands, barb wire, celtic knots. I could probably come up with many more, but these are classics i could think of off the top of my head. I am sure that there are people even more passionate, that could list more. If mlp goes off the air next season, i will always have the joy and memories it has provided me, and the bonding moments i have shared with my daughter. I will remember it all everytime i see my tattoo, and i will smile and be grateful for it all. When my daughter has children, i will show them my tattoo and share stories about their mother, and the fun we shared with this fandom.

Is it Traveller's tales that makes the lego games? I think they would make a fantastic collect them all action adventure. Lego marvel heroes is a favorite game in our house, and i would love to see them tackle a non lego franchise. Think how beautiful, and full of wonder they could make the hub cities of ponyville, cloudsdale, and canterlot. Save the crystal kingdom for the sequel, money in the bank!

How much/often do you exercise?
mike_echo5276 replied to SilverStarApple's topic in General Discussion
I usually run 2 to 3 miles, 2 to 3 days a week. In the winter i run the treadmill at the gym. In the summer time i do a lot more. I have summer chores such as splitting and stacking firewood. I also walk the forrest with my mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun in a holster on my back. There are a lot of predators such as brown bears, and wolves where i live. A mother moose can be really dangerous to stumble across too. -
Here is the thing about being married though, it isnt just "your money" that is a terrible attitude to have if you love your spouse. I dont know your financial situation, but maybe your wife feels the money could be spent better on other things. You two are a partnership. Dont go buy things behind her back either, that is an even worse thing to do then go "my money i can buy what i want." If you really want the merchandise talk it out with her. I have been married for 11 years, we are a team, and even though we are just a one income family, which happens to be my income, we are a unit and both have equal value input on finances. Take the time to talk it out, and respect her opinion. Remember that not only did you choose her to be your wife, but she chose you to be her husband. Gotta work together as a team.

gaming Game moments that made you cry
mike_echo5276 replied to Lost Profile's topic in Media Discussion
EA made a point and click adventure game based off Bladerunner in the mid 90's that made me cry and feel like a jerk. It had several different endings, to get one you had to kill all of the replicants. Once you defeated their leader he hid in his ship to die. You follow him inside and he recites the most soul crushing poem of loss and hopelessness ever written. I cried so hard at the end, and i felt like a huge asshole for killing them all. -
Some pretty interesting jobs everyone has. I am a contract air traffic controller. I learned the trade through the Army. I missed my shot at the FAA, to old to go their school in Oklahoma city. Cut off is 31 which I hit last year. I love my job, i have survived two seperate layoffs and now just work with my best friend. We have been working together since 2001. There are only two other employees, our facility chief, and the training supervisior. I have to drive 96 miles one way to get to work, but it is a beautiful drive. My friend and I carpool so the wear and tear on our vehicles is reduced. The work is awesome. We provide a superb training airfield for the army and air force. It can be stressful though. It is just me and my friend working in the tower, so all the work lands on us. Two people working three positions can get hectic some days. I will be working here until they decide to close it down. Hopefully that doesnt happen. Been here since 2005.

I think it could be an excellent vehicle for providing boys an alternative to the typical action boy cartoon/tv show. The magical thing about MLP for me is the ability to take a slice of life and make it entertaining and enchanting. I would love to see episodes showing stallions treating mares with love and respect. Show boys there is a different way to behave then what they are usually shown. Show male and female pony pairs working as couples together providing for families. I think a wonderful show could be created without resorting to high adventure every episode. We could follow a royal guard and show how important his duties are by just being a loyal vigilant guard keeping canterlot secure and safe. We could watch him train young guards with respect and dignity, instead of hazing and grunt work. The possibilities are just as endless as the current show.

Would a 7yr old girl enjoy a convention?
mike_echo5276 replied to Rarity Paige Belle's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I'm taking my 8 year old daughter to Everfree Northwest this year, it will be our first convention ever. I figured she would really enjoy the cosplay, and seeing so many people that enjoy the show. Hopefully the merchandise will be awesome too. I don't expect her to sit through an entire panel on the fine arts of audio production, or story boarding though. She may surprise me though. If she gets completely bored with the convention then we have Seattle to explore, so it should be a lot of fun. -
Stupid things you believed when you were younger
mike_echo5276 replied to Fishy Stick's topic in General Discussion
My dad told me when i was little that school buses had the strobe light on top so planes did not land on them. I believed that was true much longer then i should have.
