  1. There was a series of concerts put on outside of the Portland, OR area, by a radio station 94.7 KNRK called "Big Stink". I was fortunate enough to get tickets to 6 and 7, in '02 and '03, as well at the pre-concert show "Little Stink". Got to see an awfully long list of bands that put on a show.

    To list a few...

    - Good Charlotte

    - The Offspring

    - Stabbing Westward

    - Alien Ant Farm

    - Sum 41

    - Nickelback

    - Earshot

    - Cypress Hill

    - Muse

    - Chevelle

I've also been to a couple out in the Virginia area. One of them featured Rise Against, with From Autumn To Ashes, and a couple others as their front-runners. But, the best concert I've been to - by far - was Tiesto's College Invasion Tour, at the Norfolk Scope. Best. Day. Ever.

  2. I'm a crazy-big introvert when it comes to showing things like that. It takes an awfully large amount of comfort that I have to build with the person I'm with before I can actually share my thoughts and emotions with them. But, when that happens, I do tend to show them openly. It's also a privilege that people can get taken away much faster than they gain it. It could take several months before I show them, and I can cloister myself from them in the span of a few moments.

Shorter version: I do with people I'm comfortable with.

  3. Public schooling. Unfortunately, they did a crap job of teaching me what I needed to know, and focused on all those wonderful things that were completely unnecessary. I didn't care about Shakespeare's best works, or who invented the cotton gin to promote efficiency. I wanted to learn things that could regularly be used on a day-to-day basis, not Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? questions.

  4. I have an Northwestern accent. Does that count? Apparently, a lot of people I've worked with say I have a strange accent when compared to the people they grew up with. It's all subjective. I don't think I have an accent, while the person from [enter region] thinks I've got one.

  5. I'd like to say that I place others before myself in any situation. But, at the same time, I'd have to look at the reality of said situation. Jumping in front of a bus to push someone out of the way? I don't think that'll do much, except give the undertaker an extra body to deal with. I don't have so much strength as to move someone out of the way unless I were to full-body tackle them... and they'd have to be a skinny person.

As for the bullet one... Well, I'd have to agree with someone that posted earlier. Jumping in front of a bullet to save someone's life would only harm the both of us. I understand that it was a metaphorical bullet, and that it could be anything that could cause some serious harm, but I can't really see something moving that fast let alone jump in front of it.

I guess if I were stronger and had better coordination, I wouldn't have any reservations about doing something like that. But, considering my rather frail body structure, it's well out of the question. Would I still make the attempt? Of course. Just don't expect anyone's life to be saved.
