They never left the school for the duration of the film. The school was supposed to be a microcosm of Equestria. There wasn't time to explore the entire world around the school, and even if there were, it would be unlikely that Twilight would interact at all with the mayor or the president, and therefore Celestia would likely never have been seen. 

Then again this was a movie and there are hundreds of creative ways the President or Mayor could have been implimented into the production. This was meer lainess on the writers part. It still turned out half way descent.

Here is a MLP Roleplay game on a sandbox MMO known as Roblox. You can roleplay as your favorite Pony or create your own. 

I found this game interesting. The charecter design was pretty good and solid enugh to have fun. The setting at this time is pretty small but a huge update is coming soon. I have fun here whenever I simply want to roleplay. Of course there are other games on Roblox but not many like this one.

Interesting, I'll be interested to see how Twilight is there, rather it be parallel universe Twiley or she went back through the portal, which in that case why did she have to go through again and it's been like 2 1/2 years how will they rectify that in terms of the main show. However, all that being said, I love how Rarity rocks the keytar, such a random instrument, instead of just a keyboard.

True. Well it could have included a little more then simply the school. Well I guess we have to take it as it is. You do bring up valid points.

Since in their alternate world, Celestia is a princess so it would make sense for her to be the principal in the movie since both positions apply to a high power in authority. Besides, they had to decide on something.

I believe she could have been Mayor at least, or something to that degree.

My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Twilight Sparkle

How did you find MLP Forums?: Well, a friend of mine showed me a funny MLP video. I liked it, so I decided to check out the show. I really liked the show.

How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I really liked the show. I checked out the MLP community as well and found out how amazing it was. I did not want to be considered a brony at first but learning more about MLP and the people of the fandom has been a unique experience. One that is to unique and awesome to pass up on.

Well, I ove to read. I am planning on being verry active in this commnity and welcome any tips, advice, and ETC. I live on the East.of the USA and I spend my days reading, writing and hanging with my GirlFriend. I did not plan to become a brony but the MLP fandom is just to unique and amazing to pass up.

I love games as well. Some of my favorite games include, Minecraft, Ponyvania, Leaues of Equestria, and Leage of Equestria. I play games as an outlet and a way to relax. 

I plan to be active on these forums as well. Leaning from the MLP Pros and possibly making my own OC one day.
