We came SOOO close the the 'Princess of Uranus' joke.. really close and loved the Bubble Bobble reference (just after Discord's Marry Poppins entrance) AND the show almost went full 'Smile HD!!!' that was one heck of a fight. bit of a soft dismount and the new tree-castle is a tad lame but a highly enjoyable end to season 4 now bring on season 5 !! ;D (squee)

I think what's most important is (I'm assuming) that jan and the big H will have hammered out a frame work for any new pony stuff from him ( I know he is working on the gala con 2014 promo right now). So yes while we can be greatfull that the old stuff is coming back, I think it even better that it seens we can expect new pony stuff too.

Yup. I was trawling through my old playlists and clicked and it played.... I checked the channel and it was JanAnimationStudios and I was like " how am I watching this?? This was taken down!!' Hopefully all the other non BM-A stuff will return over time ( hope the 'hearts and hooves outtake' is allowed to return)

His stuff is coming back.... Just watched 'don't mine at night' and 'meet the Bronies' on his jan animations studios channel !!!!! Apparently he has been in talks and he is being allowed to re-post the parodies but BM's Adventures is still a step too far So yay A victory for common sence has been won (it seems)

This sucks because of all the fan videos I've seen Jan Animations is consistently the best out there. Everything from the writing to the art design the characters and animation is up there with the show itself, and I guess right there that is the problem as if you didn't know then You could easily confuse JA's content with Hasbro's content. (Not something you are gonna do with 'Smile HD' for example). I hadn't twigged the Button was an actual character from the show (albeit a background pony) so when you rope in the plans for an entire series of button videos I understand where Hasbro comes from. JA,s videos are just too professional and getting to close to an actual product for comfort. I would have preferred if hasbro has just taken down the button vids (leaving meet the Bronies, picture perfect pony... Ect) but when media companys wield the C&D axe they tend to swing it wide.. I would add that most of his vids are hosted on other channels so grab them wile you can....

Artistic merit is usually trotted out when you find some piece of art objectionable but you can't attack it on the skill level of the practitioner. "I'm not a fan of the works of Jackson Pollock. After all his works mainly consist of spilling paint, but one can't deny that his works have artistic merit" In other words... Don't like , but I can't call it crap because it clearly isn't.... I like Smile HD. OK it's deeply disturbing and out of character but set against the 'happy' of the smile remix it creates a delicious juxtaposition that jars the senses, and that dislocation between what you expect and what you receive is the point. Oh and the music and animation are really well done.

Humans must've existed in equestria!
Ohnhai replied to Rarity Paige Belle's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Equestria is it's own world with its own distinct evolution of life. That Twi and all her pals resemble RL Earth ponies is an example of convergent evolution and should not be used to assert that they are the same, or indeed have a similar history. The Tasmanian Wolf was a marsupial yet on that isolated continent evolved into the same role as canines elsewhere, to the point where, at first glance, you would confuse the two. EQ Ponies don't need, and are unlikely to have the same evolution history as their RL counterparts, so any argument posited on an assumption of a link is on desperately unsound ground Therefore the argument that humans must have existed in Equestria because RL ponies owe a lot of their current form to selective breeding by humans is faulty as there is no conclusive evidence that EQponies have any biological link with RLponies. (Their morphological diferences, wings, horns, binocular vision, intelligence, ability to use tools with hooves!! , speech all seem to suggest that there is no link at all) -
The mane is really nice, you have the up and down motion transferring really nicely . (Cool beans!! ) The tail on the other hand you have the whole thing moving back and forward for an up and down input. If you treat the tail as two sprung bars then this will convert the up and down motion into a forward and back swing. (Hopefully the attached vid will illustrate this idea) the vid is shitty quality as it was a really quick effort. Ok the vid dint work so here is a quick image illustrating the structure. The anchor point goes up and down making the horizontal bar occilate. It's end point will trace an arc. That arc will induce a swing in the vertical bar. And one last thing: You have the volume of the tail changing as it moves backwards and forward. This more than anything else will stop an animation from reading right. As the tail bounces and swings you should try and preserve the apparent thickness, as it will always still be the same amount of hair . But this stuff is hard.. When I was animating Blossoms ponytail for PPG Relish rampage these motions were that hardest I had to do. As you had everything else down pat I'm sure you will crack the tail on the next pass Hope that helps. Btw I've been concentrating on the hair, but I just want to say the leg motion is REALLY nice. Fluid, holds it's arcs, and maintains volume. That is some good animation.

there is something I kinda really like about this PS you art will come on so much quicker if you ditch MS Paint ASAP and if you can get hold of Photoshop that would be awesome (if not Gimp is a good alternative)
