  1. Remember kids. Just say "No!" A friendly PSA from Equestria.

  2. Sapphire Shoes vs Trixie was a tough choice... but I gotta side with overwhelming narcissism vs bland characterization. Go Pip! You can turn this around!
  3. World-building! Cameos! More phoenixes! Frat-boy teenage dragons! "Just say no" PSA's! Spike kidnaps a baby phoenix...! (??!?!?!) Oh my...
  4. Did Spike just kidnap a baby phoenix? o.O

So much drama! I feel like an instigator o.O

  5. Friends back home call me Pancho. The guys at work call me Cisco. My WoW guild calls me Ber. The wife calls me Tiger. Way back in the day my cousins would tease me with the nickname Pinkie (Pinkie-dinkie, Pinkus, Pinkush, etc) after the ghost from Pac Man - couldn't even tell you how that got started, actually.
  6. James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman as a pair of badass retired old warrior ponies would break the epicness scale. O.o
  7. Doctor XFizzle, think you could do an updated version of the bracket every round or just put up the results in text like here?
  8. Good points there Kyronea! You brought up something that reminds me of a thought I had watching the episode, yet escaped me up until now. Guards in Luna-themed armor... Makes perfect thematic sense that the Night Watch armor be themed after the Princess of the night while the Day Watch armor is themed after Celestia! Even if this has not been the case before, it could be just a case of Luna re-integrating herself into the role as ruling royalty alongside her big sis. Honestly, Luna needs more love, so even if you consider this a bit of a stretch, I'm taking my wins where I can get them Why am I posting about ponies at 5 in the morning...? I need to go to sleep!
  9. Understated designs are what you'd be looking for - like the aforementioned plain-color shirts with the cutie marks in a not-quite-prominent location. Either that or some of the more obscure references that the non-initiated won't understand or even associate with MLP, but any fan will get. The typical "This shirt is now 20% cooler" type of stuff is what I mean. Good luck, brony! Hopefully you'll find something that'll let you display your love for the show without making you feel uncomfortable in the process.
  10. Pretty sure the Flowerpot incident was Derpy at work again. But no, no airtime for everyone's favorite walleyed pony this week.
  11. ASL is a language - it counts! I speak fluent English and Spanish. With some effort, I can get by in French and Portugese and I've been able to pick up some Japanese, but I'd love to really learn the language properly. Same with ASL, really.
  12. Shoto-kan Karate-do. In hindsight, I should have specified! I looked into Aikido for a bit, a friend of mine was taking classes and showed me some moves. It felt a little awkward to me, but that was after years of karate, so I was far too used to straight-forward moves to really appreciate the more nuanced and subtle art. It's something I regretted and eventually tried some Tai Chi instead. Schedule prevented me from keeping up with it though. Gotta get back onto that, honestly. Some kind of martial art, at least.
  13. As is currently being demonstrated by the poll numbers, Fluttershy is best pony. Gotta say close second is Rarity, though... cos she so fabulous!
  14. The one thing I remember about the older gen ponies is one multi-parter story about a chest (or was it a cauldron?) of magic gold coins that could grant wishes. It was a typical "be wary what you wish for" Aesop story, but it was engaging enough to a pre-teen boy who just wanted to watch cartoons on TV. Had some decent antagonists and some pretty harrowing trials for such cutsey, pastel-colored ponies. I'm not savvy enough (nor do I really want to be) about the older gens to tell where it fits, but if that story is representative of what they had to offer, they weren't all that bad. Certainly better than the contemporary Care Bears. G4 is on a whole other level due to the love and dedication of one Ms Lauren Faust who infected the whole creative team behind FiM with her enthusiasm and great ideas about what makes a good show - not a "girl's show" but a "good show aimed for girls". This stark contrast is what I believe puts the older gen's in such poor light and generates the perceived (and some times real) hate towards them.
  15. This mofo right here: To date, my biggest accomplishment in life has been passing the 1st Dan exam. That stuff was rough. That experience has put into contrast so many events that have since happened in my life... what my teacher said was this: "If you can face this - you can face anything."
  16. Smash Mouth - Whole Lotta Love I have a LOT of random stuff on my playlist... from AC/DC to Vengaboys and everything in between!
  17. Welp, I finally finished the game. My thoughts: I'm happy with the game, it provided hours of enjoyable gameplay and a lot of epicness. It was just marred by a less-than-satisfying end.
  18. Well, here's the thing. Twilight really thought that it was a big issue that Future!Twilight was coming back to warn about. Considering the "survivor of an Epic Pony War" look, who can blame her? After the papercut incident it does become clear that there will likely be no major catastrophe and that it'll be your run-of-the-mill Stable Time Loop storyline. I know it's been mentioned before on this thread, but for the target audience, this is likely the first encounter with that concept, so it's excusable. They did it with Androcles and the Lion in S1E1, with Fluttershy and the Manticore - introducing children to classics of storytelling is hardly a bad thing. Things like that are so low on my gripe list that they barely register as compared to such wonders as Cerberus popping up out of nowhere... or the flowerpot incident. "Where did that even come from?" had me rollin'. I found it to be a very enjoyable episode which perhaps suffered a bit from time constraints. I'd give it a solid 4/5.
  19. I've not played any Sim game since... Sim City 2000, I believe. Lost interest in the franchise.
  20. Sounds easy enough! From what I've seen so far almost everyone here's very nice, even when they disagree. Bronies are the best of fans! Brohoof for Derpy avatar! /)
