Thank you so much, Joecal <3 <3 I was afraid everyone was going to be nasty about it.
I'm still working on it too so it's ok if it takes awhile. Do you use Finale? I can send you the file of what I have so far (or as a PDF) if you want.Unless you meant that you wanted to start from scratch, in which case, sorry for misunderstanding you at first

Ok then. How about an ACTUAL response from someone now?
Update (for anyone ACTUALLY interested in helping out):
Ok, so I've made fairly good progress coming up with a melody and lyrics on my own. Could still use the help of someone who could maybe help with making a piano accompaniment or something. -
I've never posted in this forum before, so forgive me if I accidentally break some sort of etiquette <3
I'm just in the brainstorming process of putting together a demo reel of me as a princess, and I wanted a catchy song to sing / have playing in the background. I've tried writing my own songs before, and I'm sad to say I'm miserable at it.
I wanted it to have this sort of feel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EvAEiJML0I
Edit to provide a little more info:
There's been a little bit of a backlash against princesses lately because some people think they encourage little girls to be weak and to simply wait to be rescued. But I disagree. I think that the princesses can teach little girls to always be kind and positive and hopeful, and to work hard towards whatever goal they have in life. That's the main reason why I'm doing this princess thing. I'm going to be doing community events where I help empower little girls to dare to dream big and to work hard and always keep smiling.
I want the song to help convey that message. I love the "you can be a princess if you are kind and brave" theme of the song I linked above. I think it's really, really important to let young girls know they can do anything and achieve anything in life that they want to. -
Op, if you want real advice, I mean REAL advice, don't listen to people who aren't even going to tell you what they like about your picture. I've seen people here go around posting the exact same response "Awesome!" in each thread, as if mindlessly. I'll be honest, as I should be, there are not massive proportional problems, but they still exist all around. The head appears mishapen. The right front leg looks too short (or the left too long), the lower left leg is too skinny, the eyes and pupils are not shaped and sized right, and there's a strong lack of depth, due to a lack of lighting and shading. I assume it was a show image ref you used, which don't really have all the shading they should. Other than that, the quality in the coloring and linework is pretty ugly. For the most part the linework is okay, but there are a few bits that are too broken looking. The coloring is just messy for the most part. Overall it's too messy looking.
You should compare your's to the reference (assuming it's from the show and not fanart), you need to be able to look at it and see what you did wrong. It's not a horrible first attempt, at least. You're much better than a lot of people who are new to drawing.
If you want help, I strongly suggest you read my thread here:
http://mlpforums.com/topic/99947-so-you-wanna-be-an-artist-eha-tutorial/#entry2690417
But try not to get overwhelmed by the information. Hopefully this is useful to you.
Excuse me? I liked and appreciated the drawing and didn't have any negative feedback because I'm not an artist! There's nothing I hate more than when people criticize my plushies when they don't even make plushies themselves or have actual useful or detailed feedback, so why would I do it to someone else? FFS.... Now I'm not allowed to like someone's work... Smh...

I leave harmless spiders alone. Aggressive ones or ones that have harmful-to-humans venom I usually catch-and-release. I admit I've squished a couple when I first moved into my current house because for awhile they were seriously taking over the entire house. Like you could set something down for two seconds, pick it up, and a spider would run out from under it. I feel really bad about squishing them though. Luckily they moved back outside now that it's warmer.

I would hide alone in my house and admire everyone from afar and gain a reputation as the creepy silent girl who never talks to anyone and just messes around on the computer all day ^.^

It is amazing! I'm super jealous of your majestical drawing abilities

I write pretty much exclusively in cursive. Not neat, beautiful cursive or anything, but cursive all the same. Printing takes toooooo long.
I have a question for OP: Is it your writing in that attached photo? Because that is some damn beautiful cursive right there.

Oh my gosh!! THANK YOU! You are right!

You may have to commission them! It's usually pricey to commission a plushie, but the handmade ones are WAY better than the official ones anyway. There are sellers all over DeviantArt who would be happy to quote you prices for a custom plushie <3

So I make plushies like this one:
(she's a WIP obviously, I just wanted to put something to show the style of plushies I make, so please don't be too harsh on a pony that's not finished <3)
My husband says that instead of doing the other mane 6 next I should go right on to making the popular one-off and background ponies ^.^ So I was just wondering if you lovely lovely people have a preference or a favorite ^.^Some of my favorites are Coco Pommel (obviously), Dr Whooves, and Derpy. What do you think?
Oh! And Maud Pie. She's another favorite.

Pretty! It's sort of impressionist :3 I love her eyelashes and her ears o3o
Only, I cannot for the life of me figure out what the bump on her chest is?? I know I'm just looking at it wrong and I'll feel like an idiot for even asking haha. But I keep staring at it and it's an enigma to me? -
It seems like every time I re-watch a movie from my childhood, I pick up on little things that were put in for the benefit of the adults watching that sailed right over my head as a kid. Sometimes there are funny little jokes, and other times it's heavy thematic elements that most kids wouldn't get.
Anyway, I find it really entertaining, so I thought I'd list some of the ones off the top of my head and see if you have any you've noticed And I will continue to list more as I think of them
In Hercules, when the two little boys are trapped under the boulder, one of them yells, "Somebody call IX-I-I!", which of course is the roman numeral for 911. (For non-American bronies, 911 is the emergency number to get hold of police / fire rescue / paramedics)
In The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Captain Phoebus' horse is named Achilles. At one point, he commands him, "Achilles, heel!"
In Fern Gully, Batty was used as an animal test subject for the cosmetics industry. I know that was an obvious part of the movie, but a kid doesn't really "get" how awful that is and his wacky rap is just funny. Then you grow up and realize he was tortured in the name of beauty and that that stuff happens for real every single day. O_O
In Toy Story, Buzz says to Woody, "I believe the word you're looking for is space ranger." Woody replies, "The word I'm looking for, I can't say, because there are preschool toys present!"Those are it for off the top of my head, but I know I have a million more tucked away that of course I can't think of when I'm actually trying to write them down, haha. Let me know if you know of any fun ones

I love going to pop culture / video game / anime etc cons. Megacon was the last one I went to and Dragon*con is next on the list ^.^
It's mostly just because I loooOOOOoOOOOoove to cosplay
I'm most likely to be going to DragonCon this year in Atlanta <3
And guess who I'll be?
Yes, I will be making my own Twilight Sparkle outfit (Hopefully that goes well) if I go.
Hey! I'll be there too!! Come say hi to the steampunk Tinkerbell :3

I think Dashie will get to join the Wonderbolts, since it seems like they're recognizing her more and more now.

Oh my gosh, they are so frigg'n good! :O

I've always found it a bit strange that the ponies wear saddles as a fashion accessory. But I guess we humans have strange fashion, too. But... Idk. I don't understand how the saddle could have been developed if no one had been riding on them. O_o

I eat typically hot foods, cold. I don't even own a microwave. Not even the typical "cold pizza for breakfast" stuff, either. I mean, like, pasta, soup, you name it, I enjoy it straight out of the fridge. I also eat like 1000000000000000x my body weight every day and am still skinnier than Spike.

I'm too ADD to finish the quiz lol... But I know I'm most like Flutters. She's actually a scarily accurate reflection of all my worst qualities, which makes me feel uncomfortable on Fluttershy episodes haha. I have a lot of Pinkie's hyperness, too, though. But she's way more social and outgoing than I am.

They look super amazing! You, my friend, have skills. ^.^

She's like, the head ruler of ALL EQUESTRIA. I've always understood that the other three are sort of lesser princesses. So she probably had a ton of work to do in Canterlot. I imagine ruling an entire nation isn't as easy as it seems.

I thought you meant the Apple Family when I saw the header ahaha
I have never had a MAC so I can't speak for that. I have an old iPod Nano that I still loooove <3 <3 <3
But I recently switched to iPhone from my Droid and... I really, really miss the Droid
So I guess in my experience, it's hit or miss.

Most thoughtful gift / greeting / thing you've received lately.
in General Discussion
A complete stranger bought me a gift card for dog food because I couldn't afford it; I'd say that's the most thoughtful gift EVER. ^.^
