I enjoyed season 4 most out of all the seasons because of all the character development. Especially on RD's part I mean she finally got into the Wonderbolts reserves. Rarity won a big fashion show in Manehattan (also saw her more creative side, honestly that mare can make a dress out of anything). Fluttershy actually kicking out the Breezes. Spike learning a lot. Even Scootaloo had development.

While I agree that season 1 focused more on the background season 4 just had more memorable moments.

Fluttershy's backstory or at least some big character development on her part.

So do you think Hasbro should have held off on season 4 and Alicorn Twilight?

I'm saying this because Twilight's Kingdom ended the show in a pretty perfect way. Twilight finally found her role as princess, Discord finally found the true friendship. And now they spread the magic of friendship throughout Equestria. Sounds like a pretty good ending to a very good show.
