However, I must inquire... What's the whole deal with the "social batteries" and batteries in general thing? I absolutely don't understand what you mean through these and can only take wild guesses.
Also, how does an "awkward charm" look like that it has to be defused ? Unless it's a word play I'm not familiar with?
The batteries bit revolves around the introvert versus extrovert personality types.
Extroverts get more energized when they're around others and need a lot of stimulation from others to keep their batteries charged, Introverts on the other hoof feel like dealing with groups of people kinda saps their energy. They need to be alone to get their energy back, whereas if a extrovert is left alone they kind of drain away.
Twilight would probably love being left alone for extended periods with her books. This would energize her.
If Pinkie were left alone, she'd get depressed and drained not getting to interact with others.
Dex would enjoy time alone with a book or flying through the sky all by himself and would be tired after one of Pinkie's big parties. He'd enjoy it, but would want some alone time the next day to decompress.
As to awkward charm, well he might be a bit awkward around the opposite sex in romantic situations. Some seem to find that charming. If he feels he has really been a bit too awkward he'd make a joke or a pun to kind of catch his hooves.
