  1. No. Brony/Pegasister is in concept refers strictly to teens, adults who love the show despite not being in the target demographic and tend to be those who had absolutely no interest in the brand name before FiM. There wouldn't be a special name for the branch of the fanbase if there wasn't a reason to separate them from the intended audience/fans.
  2. I also think she left because her husband Craig McCracken (who of course created Powerpuff Girls) is also getting ready to start his new animated series on Disney and she's on as a writer.
  3. After John de Lancie I'm looking forward to the possibility of getting some more cameos - or even just some bits from other famous voice actors who people on the internet would recognize. Mark Hamill, Billy West, John Di Maggio, Tom Kenny, Phil LaMarr, Maurice LaMarche- just lots of prominent voice performers out there. Also with the lack of male characters it could help establishing any male characters with fans if they got a voice actor with name recognition online. That's just a nerdy hope of mine
  4. I don't think the writing team would like viewers to think they're just raiding inspiration from Craig McCracken and Lauren Faust's Powerpuff Girls scripts.
  5. I think Discord wouldn't be overly amused by Scar- he'd likely find him too orderly, and relying too much on subtleties. Discord has no logic or reason to his plans, and his manipulations primarily seem to be a part of a playful nature; he's in it for amusement while Scar is purely in it for power. Discord? Discord already essentially has all the power any being would ever want and enjoys flaunting it. I imagine Discord would delight at mocking Scar's Shakespearean behavior and pomp. "Killing your own brother for the throne? How original!" Scar would get along much better with Queen Chrysalis than Discord because they both rely more on cut throat tactics to reach power.
  6. They'll likely continue to draw from various world mythology (primarily Greek) for future villains just as they always have. I'd also place high bets on Discord and Queen Chrysalis coming back soon. Discord because of community support and John de Lancie always jumping at the chance to play his Q character again and the Queen because she's still around and had a positive fan response.
  7. A toy that epitomized why little girls and little boys don't typically play together. You could stroke their hair, and stroke their hair, and stroke their hair...and damn could you stroke that hair. Yeah. Certainly never something I thought would ever merit the quality writing and animation of FiM
  8. I'll happily offer my services to edit or look over any commentary scripts you come up with.
  9. I was too young to see American Bandstand...I did see him as host of New Year's Rockin Eve. As for how I know about his contributions to the music industry: whenever you're looking up rock and pop music history, or even looking up the origins of a popular band/performer you may like from the 50s-80s odds are you're going to eventually stumble upon how Dick Clark and American Bandstand helped launch careers. Just lots of history of great performers. For the 50th Anniversary of the show in 2002 they featured the last live performance of Michael Jackson (not including rehearsals for This Is It). It was one of the few shows Jackson as a solo-performer would appear on frequently in the 80s. Anyways: Time for a picture R.I.P. Dick Clark - May the world continue to rock
  10. Dick Clark hosted American Bandstand from 1956 to 1989. Over those decades Dick Clark helped bring many of pop culture's most infamous musical acts of all time to the public eye. Due to constantly introducing fresh and new acts Clark has long been referred to by the nickname "America's Oldest Teenager". In 1993 he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame due to his work in bringing so many groups/acts to the public's attention. Here's a list of all the acts that appeared on American Bandstand: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_acts_who_appeared_on_American_Bandstand As far as TV personas/faces go Dick Clark is without a doubt one of the most iconic faces in the history of television.
  11. Ravenclaw here! Username CastleRune177 (I really hate that you can't create your own name- I understand they don't want someone using a name that would be offensive, or obscene for little kids, but still...)
  12. First game I ever played was Super Mario World for the SNES in a daycare center My first gaming platform was a Nintendo Gameboy Color with Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and Pokemon Blue. First television console was the Nintendo 64. Two years ago a close friend of mine bought me a Super Nintendo Entertainment System with the box, controller, all the wires, and several games. I love those older games
  13. Really depends for me...I did it for the first two Mass Effect games. I'm not into multiplayer so only games I'll ever get all the achievements for are single-player. Gaming is an escape for me and I like to enjoy it by myself, which is why I've never been as into multiplayer
  14. That Honey Nut Cheerios commercial with the little girl who keeps saying "That's for babies." over and over and over again. They seemed to think it was adorable but I honestly feel like planting my fist in her brat face by the end of the thing. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard and the makers clearly think she's just the cutest thing. Bleh!
  15. For example, probably one of my favorite things that the MST3K crew would do is come up with a running gag and keep building it up the entire length of a movie (and sometimes it would even make its way into other episodes, such as the many Torgo jokes in Manos, the Hands of Fate) My personal favorite has always been the increasingly over the top "Manly-macho names" gag for the character Jack Ryder in Space Mutiny (Season 8, Episode 20) http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFHlJ2voJHY
  16. Well, aside from voice acting I believe you need to put lots of thoughts into what jokes to make. Lots of videos out there under the title of "Let's Watch". What MST3K (and their current project Rifftrax) have that youtuber "Let's Watch" commentaries lack is a solid focus on jokes and timing. Mike Nelson (who we know as the head writer of MST3K, and the 2nd host) is a genius when it comes to mixing references and jokes at a rapid fire pace (I loved how he was always sneaking in Lord of the Rings book references). Mike Nelson and Joel Hodgson, and the rest of the cast were only decent stand-up comics, but get them writing commentary for movies and they are unmatched. To define your project over other people doing similar things will depend on writing, or having someone with a spot on sense of humor that is different from other commentators. That's just my two cents as a huge MST3K fan.
  17. Battlezone (1998). This remake of the classic arcade game was waaaay ahead of its time fusing FPS tank combat with real-time strategy elements. What it lacks in story it more than makes up for in gameplay. Introduced me to FPS and RTS growing up and is still one of my all time favorite games.
  18. Batman: The Movie (1968). Too many people seem to treat it as if it were serious but I think its fairly blatant that it's a mockery of how ridiculous the silver age comics were. A comedy classic as far as I'm concerned
  19. There Will Be Blood Citizen Kane 2001: A Space Odyssey Pan's Labyrinth A Clockwork Orange Dr. Strangelove Alien Schindler's List Saving Private Ryan Raiders of the Lost Ark Jaws Dark City
  20. The Joker as voiced by Mark Hamill- also: as designed by Bruce Timm and written by Paul Dini Some others... Grim from The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy Johnny Bravo Aku from Samurai Jack Raven in Teen Titans
  21. Sweeney Todd (the original Broadway production which is thankfully preserved on DVD- can't stand Burton's movie) Les Miserables Into the Woods Moulin Rouge! Jesus Christ Superstar Fiddler on the Roof
  22. Mass Effect 3. Huge single player gamer, loved the previous entries and other BioWare games....and in the last ten minutes the ending killed all my devotion to the developer
  23. Mass Effect 3: in ten minutes BioWare blew all its credibility as far as writing and following through with promises to the fans were concerned...okay that being said when that game was good there were great emotional moments, but you just kinda forget the good parts after sitting through the ending, Never had a game seriously get me worked up emotionally
  24. Samurai Jack Batman: The Animated Series Futurama Dexter's Laboratory The Grimm Adventures of Billy & Mandy (first few seasons) Spongebob Squarepants (pre-movie) The Simpsons
