  1. Apparently some people think of the yaks as one dimensional and didn't like this episode. To adress this let me quote myself from fimfiction:

"Ponies invite Yaks to castle with promise of friendship. Ponies claim to serve Yak food, but they lie. Ponies claim to provide Yak hay, but they lie. Ponies claim to present cuteness of Yak animals, but they lie. Ponies claim to give Yak fabric, but they lie. Ponies claim to have Yak snow, but they lie. Ponies ruin traditional Yak cuisine with their clumsy use of vanilla extract. Ponies claim to have dragon play beautiful music, but they lie. Ponies claim to host party, but they lie and stall for hours. Princess tries to keep Yaks longer with even more lies, but Yaks have enough. After coming to Equestria Yaks have only been insulted and lied to. Yaks no like being taken for fools. Yaks no like liars."

Try showing a little more cultural sensitivity next time maybe. I absolutely loved this episode in its entirety, and the Yaks' behavior is easily explained by cultural differences and misunderstandings based on different languages. My hunch is everything would have been smooth if the ponies had just showed them how great Equestria is from the beginning instead of claiming to have stuff "just like you yaks", thus making the yaks think of them as liars and/or being condescending ("Ha, see this disgusting stuff we present to you, this is how we think things are in Yakyakistan!").

  2. Yet the episode went ahead and depowered the mane five whilst granting Twilight a power upgrade anyway. Because a certain someone wanted "Friendship is Magic" to come second to Twilight being portrayed as the sole hero of all ponykind.

She didn't need them. They needed her. Because there was only one surefire chance of Equestria being saved from Tirek, and that was for Twilight to just keep on fighting.

So yes, the mane five were indeed liabilities. They were useless and helpless damsels who only hindered Twilight saving Equestria all by herself.

Have you even watched the episodes to the end? It was not Twlight on her own that saved the day, but the magic of friendship via rainbow power.

  3. I beg to differ. Twilight obviously loves Celestia. I think it would be a perfect match!

You know, I have never been much of a shipper, apart from the obvious popular background pony pairs like LyraBon and OctaScratch, so I'm entering new ground here for me as this is the first time I've ever become really attached to a specific pairing. That out of the way, you leave the OTP alone! Celestia is far too old and frankly I can't see her getting it on with anyone at all, not even fellow immortals such as Discord or (yuck) her sister. I prefer to think of her as some kind of virgin queen, well princess, who is married to her country so to speak. Twilight and Sunset are a much better fit in every single possible way.

  4. Sunset Shimmer is finally being granted her birthright and becomes a princess. <3

Oh and the rest of the mane six too. And Spike. Ah who am I kidding, EVERYPONY gets turned into princesses! But Sunset Shmmer gets to be DOUBLE PRINCESS!

I definitely want the show to end with the closing of that book the very first episode started with, right after the credits in which we get a flankload of "Where are they now?" clips.

  5. I'm not sure if this is a moderation or technical issue, but since I didn't get any kind of warning or message I suppose it is the latter. I'll just quote myself from my Welcoming Plaza thread here:

"Anyway I'm kind of confused, I already made two posts yesterday, in fact the whole reason I signed up for this forum was because I saw a topic I just had to reply to. But when I check it now both posts are gone, as well as the post of the OP in which he replied to the first of my posts. I can only see three possible explanations for this:

1.: I broke some kind of rule and a mod deleted them. But then wouldn't I have received some kind of warning?

2.: The OP deleted them. Unlikely as he seemed to be quite smitten by the writing talent I displayed in my first post and said I deserve to be in the featured box of FimFiction.

3.: Somehow all posts of newcomers get deleted automatically after a while if they don't turn up in the Welcoming Plaza as some kind of anti-Spambot safeguard. Grasping for straws here, as why would it have deleted the OP's post to me as well?

Does anyone have an idea as to what happened here? I worked long and hard on my first post and would be quite ticked off if it was gone for good. The thread in question is this one here:

Between Hyper NightFlash's and Colour's posts at the top there should be a whole three posts at least, two by me and one by Hyper NightFlash between them."

Yesterday I contacted Hyper NightFlash and he told me he was just as surprised as I am by the sudden vanishing of my and his posts. I don't see what possible reason he could have to lie about this or delete our posts in the first place, so this has to be either a glitch, a stealth moderator or an elaborate setup for a prank.

To summarize: My first two posts in this forum suddenly disappeared along with that of another user in which he replied to the first one.

    Any help would be appreciated.
