So I made a quick pone with your base ideas. Soory, I didn't have hazel for the eyes.

So here is what I came up with. I also made the mane more crimson.

The hind leg looks a bit out of place, I think the flank should be a tad bit higher.

But it is a nice and dynamic pose, which is awesome!
