  1. Hey guys! With the advent of the new types of decks, I was wondering if anyone knew of any good ways to learn to play? Any advice on playing in general?
  2. I love collecting all kinds of things (I am a huge NFL fan, so I have quite a bit of memorabilia), but have also collected MLP stuff since I was a kid. I have all the ponies (G3) from when I was a kid, plus blind bags, 10 funko variant figures, one poster, nearly all the comics and a few limited edition brushables (ie Zecora, glitter Celestia). As with everything, your collection and desire to collect will change and that's okay too. I'm going to sell most of my blind bags soon, as well as some of my MLB memorabilia. But that's the joy of collecting! Unless it's affecting your money management or financial position, or becoming hording, then it's never too much.
  3. What does everyone think of the new Funko figures? Especially the variant figures. I think Cadence looks great, except I have mixed feelings about the variant color. Shining Armor looks strange to me.
  4. The important difference as many people have stated is the fact that you don't / shouldn't inhale cigar smoke and that they don't have those chemicals in them. I honestly smoke one or two a year and keep it to that due to the health risks. Get nice ones and use them as a treat. But don't condemn others just because you don't care for the habit! Not all cigar smokers are the same.
  5. I have an occasional one with my boyfriend or on special occasions. Cigars are a lot less of a health risk than cigarettes, but still should be enjoyed in moderation,
  6. Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone here played the mobile game "The Battle Cats". If not you should, but I was looking for people to discuss and also friend in the game. I'm currently stuck on the last boss (the Moon, stage 3) and am looking for serious strategy help and discussion about what the best cats actually are.
  7. Yeah, I preordered it off welovefine.com, which has a lot of good pony merch. I saw it on Equestria Daily first though, so that's how I know it existed. I was squemish about the price tag too, but got some gift card money for christmas, so was able to spring for it.
  8. That has been exactly my problem. No one seems to know when they are actually coming out. UPDATE: Went to the comic store today -- it was not there, much to my sadness.
  9. Did anyone else preorder the Discord/Fluttershy, Flutter On, figure? I just got an email (having preordered it myself) and it looks amazing. I was a little concerned Discord looked just too evil, but in the final version they seemed to have changed him a little.
  10. Another good Zecora figure is this one -- she was available from Toys R Us, but can be found online for a good price. I have her and find her to be a good addition to my collection. Her eyes look right from all angles and I think she has a cutie mark on both sides.
  11. I was wondering if anyone knew a firm date for comic #28. I asked in my local comic book store and was told that it comes out tomorrow. But I don't see anything about it online. Does anyone know the firm date? And going beyond that, does anyone know a reliable way to find out the dates for the comics? It has always been a pet peeve of mine.
  12. It would be cool to see them in a comic together, because they are two of the most interesting characters in the show, as well as the most mysterious. Since Discord has been around since the Dawn of Time, and time travels (spoiler), I would assume he has crossed paths with her before, because she does come from a 'distant' land. Personally, I would like to know more about these distant lands (where did Teirk come from?) and also about what Discord did when he was first free, before he was trapped in stone the first time.
  13. My parents thought it was a little strange (I'm a college age girl), but I explained to them that it connected me to my childhood. (when I had gen 3 ponies). Overall, it can be tough to stand up, but you should show your mom that you're comfortable being yourself. It can be really hard (I've had to stand up up to them for my choice of major, career and boyfriend.) It's never easy but can get easier with time. But I've found that I became a lot happier when I made the choice to not let them decide my life for me. Maybe your incentive can be getting a good piece of limited edition merch! It's the hardest and most rewarding thing you can do!
  14. There is also a brushable Luna (glitter Luna) that was found at Target here in the States and is on Ebay as well. I totally forgot about her (she's new!)
  15. If you wanted to start with Luna, I know of at least two types where you can buy only her. One is the Funko figure, which has two variations (and I think is sold in Europe); the other was a Luna that was able to be colored. I forget the exact name of the line, however. Both can be found on eBay, if you're willing to pay a little for shipping!
  16. Shining Armor looks amazing -- glad to see him finally getting some main stream merch. I'm not a big fan of plushies though, and considering the price tag, I'd rather wait for the Funko version. He's great looking though -- the best BaB pony so far (except many Zecora)
  17. I'm holding out for a Sombra/Shining Armor/Cadence one next, though Soarin would also be good! (However, I feel like they're done with the Wonderbolts for now, sadly).
  18. I've got a bunch and find them all to be mostly good quality (occasionally you can see joints and such, but its simply going to happen.) I collect the variant ones and prefer their look to the regular ones, but they are significantly more expensive (which is why my collection isn't complete yet). They did a great job with Discord and Big Mac especially. Haven't gotten either Luna or Celestia yet, but have heard a few mixed reviews on them. Still going to buy them though!
  19. I would recommend getting any figure you like! I collect, but because of price, I'm only collecting ponies I like. I found Discord to be of high quality, as well as Daring Do and Fluttershy. Big Mac is also pulled straight from the show. Trixie has always looked good, but I don't own her. There are multiple variants, so I would decide if you want to go after the variants or not. They can be expensive, but if you deal hunt you can find them for just over double the 'face value'. Currently, Spitfire variant is on eBay for cheap (though it ends tonight), I've hear nasty things about Celestia and Luna (though I still want them both), so I would avoid them for now unless they are your absolute favs.
  20. Hey everypony! I was just curious if there were any comic collections here. I have a collection myself and love to see others', discuss and perhaps trade! I currently try to only pick one cover (ie one physical comic) for each issue, though there are a few rare exceptions. How do you all collect? Currently, I'm hunting for #1 (Third Eye Cover), #2 (JetPack Cover) of the main series and FF #7 (BronyCon Cover), but am proud of how far my collection has come!
  21. The best is without a doubt Issue #24 of the regular series, with Discord, the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Fluttershy. I'm an anti-Dr.Who fan, but still loved the issue a lot! I agree about Zen and the Art of Gazebo Repair (issues #9, #10), the Luna microseries (microseries #10), and the story line of Cadence and Shinning Armor (issues #11, #12).
  22. I was really on the fence about these books, though I love Daring Do. As with a lot of other people, price was my main issue. Reading all your reviews makes me want to go out and get it. Sadly, I don't have the money right now because I'm finishing my collection of Funko glitter figures. I will earmark it for the future and put it on my to read list for sure!
  23. I don't think they release too many -- in general I have found them to be very high quality. They have limited the variant covers recently, which is nice. I only try to collect one of each issue, so I pick my favorite and hunt it down. I've been lucky recently with my local comic book store. (I live in a small town). I'm excited for the new series, but won't buy all of them if they're not good. I try to get all the main series (which I have found to be excellent), but limit the extra series (Microseries, FF).
  24. I'm really excited about the comic series, especially because I also enjoyed the reflection arc in the series. I think overall, the comics are good and I enjoy the fact that they are clearly aimed at an older age group. I think this will be an interesting series, but am upset they left out Discord -- I'd love to see some information on where he came from, as well as what happened before Celestia and Luna had to battle him the first time. Not excited about the Sierins arc, but the rest look beyond excellent.
