And I never said that she had no good qualities. I am only saying that I feel like her bad qualities outweigh her good ones.
I actually don't have a problem with people feeling that way. It's when she gets criticized for things she did nothing wrong that annoys me.
That first episode was one of her finest moments. The other mane 6 weren't even really her friends at that point (except for Fluttershy) but she still chose them over a chance at fame and fortune. I'll admit she's been wrong quite a few times, but that certainly wasn't one of them. It's baffling to me anyone could think otherwise.

I'm just describing what was shown in the episodes.
Heroism and loyalty. That's what most people saw. That would explain why she always gets tremendous praise for those episodes. Only vocal minorities complained about her through all those episodes.
-
I am fully aware that all of the mane 6 have flaws. Never said they didn't. And I do not by any means think that that makes somepony a bad character. In fact that can even make them a good character. I just don't like it when Rainbow Dash acts like an obnoxious unlikeable asshole...Is that wrong?
Of course not. RD can be obnoxious and arrogant, and it's fine to not like her for it. But that doesn't make it right to say she has no good qualities when she obviously does, and it's not fair to ignore them.
I despise Rarity with a passion, but I acknowledge she's still a relatively good pony in spite of some horrendous flaws (the way she treats Spike is disgusting).

Nope. Kids know that she's super obnoxious and unlikable an that they should never ever act anything like her.
Rainbow Dash has way more negative traits than any other character and I'd go as far as to say that there's absolutely nothing good about her.
This guys comment proves that you are objectively wrong.
Flawed characters like her are exactly what this show needs. This ain't Barney the Dinosaur's made up fantasy bs after all.
Considering my youngest sister was inspired by her to try out for sports at school, I would hope her influence would be greater. At least IMO.

Haven't seen the earlier seasons in awhile...Sue me...
Then you're in no position to be judging her if you're that oblivious to her character. Might as well start judging people before you know them.
What a great role model you would be.

When did she save lives exactly? I don't think I remember that.
Sonic Rainboom (saved your favorite pony and the wonderbolts)
Mare Do Well (even if she was being arrogant, she saved a lot of ponies)
Sleepless in Ponyville
Wonderbolts Academy
Daring Don't
Rainbow Falls (saved Soarin' for the millionth time)
Testing Testing 1,2,3 (saved Twilight from getting chopped up in helicopter blades)
All the times she's protected Fluttershy (changeling battle, power ponies)
Do you even watch the show? How the hell do you miss all that. That's WAY more good than bad.
Nope. Kids know that she's super obnoxious and unlikable an that they should never ever act anything like her.
Rainbow Dash has way more negative traits than any other character and I'd go as far as to say that there's absolutely nothing good about her.
Then you really aren't paying attention.

I have to say yes. In episode 1 she almost leaves her friends for a group of complete strangers who she doesn't even know...Seriously, who does that? The Element of Loyalty my ass...And she's also whiny and selfish and conceited. Good role model for kids? I think not...
You are grasping at straws in a way I have never seen anyone do before.
Rainbow Dash did not even come close to choosing the Shadowbolts over her friends. She immediately said no. She nearly threw away her dream of being a Wonderbolt in WA be cause her friends were more important to her. She saved countless lives, taught Scootaloo that she was awesome for who she was, not because she needed to fly.
You're really going to let a few trivial negative qualities overshadow far more important virtues that she shows?

Think she should be excluded from the show. Bad influence in little kids' show is something that should be avoided! If your little kid acts weird & annoys you all the time - it's your fault you let him/her watch something as bad as Cailou or Barney the pedosaurus.
Except she isn't a bad influence. She teaches kids about determination and loyalty. Plus a lot of athletic girls can probably relate to her.

Trixie is an arrogant, talentless fraud. A lot of people hate her, and she deserves it.
-
I think Rainbow Dash should be punished to the full extent of the law! 6,000 bit fine, pay for all the damages, 10 years of Community Service, 6 years of imprisonment or at least house arrest, mandatory therapy and anger management, temporary if not permanent banishment/exile from Cloudsdale, job suspension if not completely fired, mandatory re-attendance of school biology and life science, and fully pay the medical bills of any injured.
All she needs is her status as a national hero who's saved them all multiple times and she gets a free pass.
Way to overreact though.

yah I can feel yah, i mean in some fics, i do like her in how shes written by those fans but show wise, i'd
kick her flank to the edge of the world given how she acts to some of her friends half the time..
Hate to break it to ya, but if you tried to take on RD, you'd be the one getting your flank kicked. Besides, I think she's way more admirable than Rarity. She's done way good than her as far as I'm concerned.
Rainbow Dash
She's overated, a show off, and is the stereotype that most of the time are total jerks; the jock.
There's nothing wrong with her taking pride in what she does. Being a jock is not a bad thing at all. I think it' extremely shallow of you to say that.
-
A lot of people like myself hate her because of her fans.
No offense but that's an extremely petty reason to dislike her. Blaming her for something that isn't her fault. If judged ponies solely based on their fans, I would despise Fluttershy with a passion.
I'm not going to go down into details but my biggest pet peeve with Rainbow is her damn ego... she thinks WAY too highly about herself and I don't like people like that... I take it most people who don't like her think the same...
So you have a problem with people who have a lot of determination and take pride in what they do?
-
I would remove RD and replace her with Spitfire .
Spitfire is one of the most immoral character on the show though. I know Dash ain't perfect, but she's had to put Spitfire in her place on more than one occasion.
-
Voted Rarity just 'cause I'm hipster trash. Plus I like to imagine she spits a lot when nobody's looking.

She's such a cutie, even though she'd hate being called that.

I hate her. I think she's an annoying elitist snob who is rarely ever generous.
-
Scootaloo. She's the easiest to sympathize with I think, plus I love her personality.
Sweety Belle of course. Anyone related to The Almighty Rarity is a winner in my book!
The crusader related to worst mane 6 pony is your favorite? Ewwwwww!
Kidding. Please don't kill me.

Rainbow Dash would be the perfect friend if you're an irresponsible troublemaker, which is exactly what I am. Her and I would get into so much trouble together, and we'd relish in every minute of it.
-
Definitely Rainbow Dash. I know Applejack is all honest and hardworking and whatever, while Dash is kind of an irresponsible troublemaker, but frankly, that just means Dash would be a helluva lot more fun to hang out with. I'm kind of an irresponsible troublemaker myself, so we'd have the time of our lives just partying or doing whatever. Even if we ended up in jail or something I wouldn't regret it for a minute. I suppose Applejack can't really afford to be as carefree as Dash, but hey, not my problem.
-
I've seen a lot of hate directed at Twilight in various youtube comment sections. Same thing with Rarity. I don't think those two are very popular with the younger crowd.

Sonic Rainboom. Can't beat the classics.

Toss up between Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. I guess I'll give it to Dash. Lyra's awesome too.
-
Probably AJ. Not my favorite pony, but she seems easy to get along with.
-
My dislike for Rarity comes from the fact that I just can't stand her personality. She's not a bad pony or anything, but she just drives me nuts with the way she acts. RD's just a lot more entertaining and easier to relate to.
Could Rainbow Dash be a bad influence on children?

Somebody should screen-cap this and put on a website: stupidthingsRDhatersactuallybelieve.com so we can all have a laugh at nonsense they make up.
