  1. Well, after texting, and spending time with my folks, I had to get this off my chest (it ain't hair. I actually could use a reasonable amount of that). This'll be a long one, so please bear with me. From just a single event two days ago that led to me becoming a member here, My entire life, personality and viewpoint all dramatically changed since Today's (probably gonna be yesterday's by the time I finish this) morning. I take weekly therapy sessions on campus, and I was supposed to meet my new therapist (the former one received a great job position that she chose to accept. It required her to move far from the university, sadly. Gonna miss her.) the afternoon of that day; my lightest college day with only one course to attend. I'm an unbiased client, so I certainly don't care about the age, race, gender or etc of my therapist. He and I discussed issues that were bothering me, during the session. His feedback and advice on one issue of mine, however, is the main culprit of this snowball effect. When he heard about my fear of rejection and hostility, he gave his viewpoint and opinion about it; He also handed me a printout of an informational article that I'll probably hold onto for a lot of years, if not the rest of my life. The subject of the article was risk-taking; basically showing what could happen if you try, and what you might have missed out on if you don't take the plunge (thankfully, not related to unclogging a toilet) . It gave statistics about the absurd amount of failures that certain examples of famous people in history encountered. However, it also included their clearly overwhelming amount of successes afterwards. After viewing the article, the latter was clearly worth reaching for, despite having to deal with the former, in my opinion. I thanked my therapist at the end of the session, and headed back to my apartment (not before, I bought myself a cheese pizza to-go, though. Delicious stuff, right there!) ,already feeling great. I thought about what I heard during the recent session, and it sparked enough inspiration to attempt what I wanted to do as far back as my introduction to online gaming, (To those curious, the MMORPG was MapleStory. I avoid it like the plague nowadays, due to my bias toward Nexon, but I don't judge the games playerbase and fans; It was a blast, playing it with my twin brother.), joining an online community (*Insert cliche', dramatic music sequence, here, before cutting into commercial break*). I thought to myself, "I'd love to be part of an online community, but I want to be part of just one, so I can prioritize and keep my amount of interactions simplified and manageable." This led to reasonably timed research (thankfully not accompanied with a montage and music); It pretty much was just comparing and weighing my interests. After around thirty minutes, (basically of messing around with an imaginary battle royale involving my interests as personified combatants), only two were left, and only one would make the cut (Sounds like a realty show competition. I always felt bad that the runner-up left with only his/her time wasted. Screw that "worthwhile experience" junk!) I had to decide between choosing the community of my currently favorite MMORPG (Dungeon Fighter Online) or the brony fanbase (I'm proud to say that my existence here makes me a living spoiler; nice). I choose joining an online brony community for two reasons. I felt guilty about being a closet brony at the time, and the fact that the recent reboot of the My Little Pony cartoon titled, Friendship is Magic, got me hooked (I'd love to experience that Netflix marathon, last summer, one more time); It also made me feel that T.V is still relevant to me, and often left a lasting impact on me with nearly every episode. Nothing on television did that to me in (too many) years. Then came standard procedure: I made an account name,(cautiously double)checked the forum rules and regulations, and headed into it face-first (Just like the situation involving part of the stairwell in the atrium building on campus, today. Zing!). Then came my introductory thread, followed by a lot of you politely and respectfully welcoming me, to even a few of you adding me to your Friend List; a seemingly blank-slate (me, by the way. Also, that sounded kinda close to blank flank) appeared worthwhile to some of you to befriend. I could have been a troll, a typical hater (Ugh, arseholes...), a user that would make one post and never return after forgetting about the site, or whatever negative person the imagination could come up with. Some of you still chose to befriend me, despite those possibilities; forgive my sudden change in language, but that fuckin' speaks volumes. When I woke up this morning, I realized something frighteningly different about me. The empty void, constantly reminding me that I'm missing something in my life, shrunk in size, (NOT a Dr. Seuss reference! Mention this, and I will glare at you as if you told me my jeans were unzipped. Even if they ACTUALLY WERE unzipped...), if not filled itself completely (If so, good friggin' riddance! I hated that douche!). So many things happened to me at once. I realized that I'm not an introvert, but actually an (annoyingly enthusiastic) extrovert; I was very extroverted during my childhood, but all of that changed when I suffered unjust and cruel treatment throughout my public school years (honestly, I would have preferred the Fire Nation invading instead). I also accepted myself for who I am, and I've been trying to do that for a VERY damn long time. Lastly, and the most significant, ( "It looks like he's gonna end it with a dropkick, leaping off the turnbuckle, JR!") effect, was that I realized that I was more happy than I've been In years! This pretty much sums it up. I just wanted to say that ALL of you made this impact in my life, regardless of whether or not you just found out about me through this blog post ; Even if you made one constructive post as a member, you contributed to the existence of this forum, thus indirectly being responsible for that impact toward me. It'll take me a very long while, if not years, to return the favor somehow. If I were to meet any of you in person, and you were to ask me to be your friend, I'd accept the offer without hesitation. I'd also fight tooth and nail (incisor and blunt end of hoof?) against any person causing you trouble (Who cares about that punk's six-pack? You'd be surprised at what a normal untrained civilian can be capable of, using mostly their elbows and knees!). Thanks for reading (Or skimming over. "Yeah, I've got my eye on you, pardner...") this blog post. It just means a lot to me how you all have helped me. Thanks, again.
  2. Back, again. The folks wanted to eat out in a restaurant, despite telling me that they'll just run with fast food, hours earlier. Still love 'em all to death, though. Sorry about the lack of response; I've still gotta work on that blog post too, to make matters worse. Feel free to read the finished product, though! I can't guarantee it, but it just might be worth a read to ya; heck it might even brighten your entire weekend, in the rare, best-case scenario! Alright,...

  3. My family wanted to spend time with me for a bit (good, 'cause living on campus makes me homesick as hell!), so I'll likely won't be able to reply or make my first blog post as early as I thought. I'm hyped about this weekend, overall!

  4. I'm back! I'm ready for a weekend full of MH4U, and pure awesomeness! I wanted to mention three things that I thought were interesting during my gaming experience (in bold, for those with not much time). 1. Palicoes have grown on me very quickly! Cats aren't my favorite animal, but those cute critters are a welcome member of the series in my eyes. Anyone here gave their main Palico a unique or interesting name they'd like to share? I named my little feline comrade Athena; the day I bought the game, I thought Palicoes used miniature, but EXACT, replicas of possible weapons and armor that hunters could equip. I was going to have her be a Lancer while I stuck to the charge blade like glue. The truth kinda disappointed me, but at least I didn't feel obligated to ditch my old, trusty monster jabber and steel slab combination, anymore! 2. Does the 3DS' control and button format screw you up occasionally, or rarely? I fell in love with the lance's new leaping stab that could be triggered during a running charge. It nets mount opportunities very efficiently! However, AT LEAST ONCE A DAY when I'm doing a running charge, I don't leap in the air to do the badass midair stab that I wanted, but stop in my tracks; derping up, and practically allowing the beastie to smack me. It can even start a chain of hits, followed by me seeing stars and eventually brought back to the base on a wheeled, kitty-guided stretcher! 3. I just repelled Gore Magala while waiting on my Calculus class, ( I hate college, by the way. That image is directed toward the game; I just wanted to put in an visible "squee" noise) , and the entire battle was EPIC! Because I knew how to use the tools thanks to my frustrating solo hunts against Jhen Mohran in 3U, he was repelled too quickly. Regardless of that though, I liked a repel quest that ENDED EARLY more than an awesome showdown against Goldbeard Ceadeus! Capcom's clearly doing something right if they planned on their most recent game being blatantly superior! Great! That's kickass news to me. Here's mine: 0404-6120-9945
  5. I'm back! My weekend of gaming and chatting has officially, begun! I'm currently texting some news to my family. @my friends: I'll start posting ASAP; I just need to finish texting and post something I wanted to bring up for a while, as I attended my courses during the afternoon.

  6. But- ,wha-, how- ,the-, it- *Sentinel.exe has crashed* I'm officially losing my mind. Please leave a message after the tone. : *Medieval fanfare plays, followed afterwards by a hearty, "Huzzah!" * On topic,: I'm ready to hunt again today, but I've gotta deal with college first. Just tell me if ya'll want my friend code if you want to hunt together. I'd really like to hunt with any of you.
  7. It's a mix of his both his years as professional boxer, and the rough and unfriendly area he and his wife lived in, before moving to Canterlot (friendship wasn't exactly magic, back in the day! Hardy, har!). Thanks for bringing that up, and reminding me to fix that.
  8. MY EYES! GODDAMMIT, ALL, MY EYES! WHY!?! WHY!?!?!?!? * Heaves into a toilet for minutes before shoving his face headfirst into pool of bleach with both eyes open*
  9. It look's like my right ear's fine, now. Still sucks that I've gotta deal with a Biology exam and the inevitable boredom of attending Calculus...

Thanks. I certainly hope it's less bothersome than I'm assuming.

  10. I agree with both this quote, and the quote quoted in it! It almost made me shed a manly tear....
  11. I've pretty much scrapped my other ideas in the recycling bin for now, and made Silver Ward my ponysona. I've changed his race from earth pony to unicorn, adjusted his backstory, and attempted to re-balance him. Does anyone else have an opinion on Silver? I'd like to know, because I plan on adding him to the forum's character database pretty soon. Edit: To buy more time before adding him to the database, I'll summarize more information about Silver Ward's backstory with revised changes, here. Silver is a young Unicorn stallion who currently resides in Canterlot. Despite his hometown (city?) being often stereotyped as a place full of posh, regal and high class ponies, Silver is a middle class civilian. He was lovingly raised by his father (an earth pony stallion) only, due to his mother (a unicorn mare) passing away within weeks after giving birth to him. An event that occurred when he was a colt steered the course of his life and motivations; while traveling for a month-long tour outside of Canterlot, The caravan that he was in encountered a bandit ambush. The foal was frightened for his own life, but a pegasus mare of the Royal Guard managed to intervene, before any causalities occurred. The amazing display the mare gave of simultaneously defeating the three armed assailants while also monitoring the condition of the ponies that she defended, left a lasting impact on Silver. After enthusiastically thanking the pony responsible for saving his and a couple of other ponies' lives, the guard mentioned to him that she noticed his failed (and naive) attempt to drive off the bandits. Knowingly, she told him his action was commendable, but she also told him to carefully consider his options in such situations; especially considering his age at the time, and the fact that he was unarmed. Almost as if she knew exactly what he was thinking at the moment, she asked Silver if he wished to learn how to better defend others, while defending himself as well. The colt quickly and gratefully accepted the offer; for the next couple of years, Silver would soon learn tactics and other things related to both defending others, and combat in general. While his skilled tutor favored using a spear accompanied by a large phalanx shield, Silver didn't prefer to use conventional weaponry; Silver's father learned about this, after his son (now between colt and stallion age; leaning toward stallion) told him. To Silver's surprise, his father had noteworthy fighting skill, and trained Silver in fighting bare-hoofed. After recently reaching the age of a stallion, Silver's appearance changed completely; While his grey coat and black mane stayed the same, he was a bit taller than average, and had a wide, but not bulky, athletic build. He often wore a caestus on both of his front hooves. Though he still wished to be a Royal Guard, his life seemed Utopian to himself; He was saddened that his former gaurdian retired from the Guard, but he felt more than honored when she permanently lent him her shield. That "perfect" life, however, was soon impacted by a tragedy that he found out that occurred about almost a year afterwards. His Guardsman caregiver was murdered in her sleep, during a robbery in her home. Word of the horrific event spread like wildfire; murder is something Equestria knows of, but isn't used to. The stallion was devastated, and beyond furious at the unfitting and unjustified end of the mare. By a very rare situation of chance, Silver encountered the two ponies responsible for the murder; it took nearly all of his willpower to not revive the infamy of the crime those two were guilty of, as he saw them laughing during a conversation. To say that he almost snapped when saw one of them repeatedly tossing upwards and catching an heirloom that undeniably belonged to a deceased mare, would be an understatement. Implicitly adding insult to the grievous moment, the two ponies were taken down quickly; despite Silver being outnumbered and those two being armed. After telling a Guardsman of the event and the location of the bloodied, but still living criminals, the guard thanked him and galloped to that location immediately; Eventually, the two murderers were condemned in Canterlot's prison to soon be judged by both princesses. It still felt like a hollow victory for Silver, though. Man, that was a DOOZY! I'm glad I got it done!
  12. I understand what you mean. I just prefer blocking with my lance, SNS, or charge blade, because it simply fits me and my personality. Agile, evasion-focused playstyles, eh? I see somepony eventually making use of Evasion +3 in the future! XD Do you main anything else, other than the bow? The dual blades,(that demon mode dashing ledge attack, though!), seem more than an ideal fit for you. While I'm more than okay with Pokemon hunting companions, I'd still prefer canines to be an option.
  13. I woke up early. For the better and worse, I'll be staying up till the end of the day (or middle of the night), since it takes me awhile to go back to sleep. It feels like I'm now deaf in my right ear, but I doubt that it's true, and something (extremely disgusting, by the way!) might be the reason instead. With that in mind, potentially, this seems likely to be temporary.

  14. I respect that viewpoint, and can see why you'd feel that way. My love (and even bias towards) animals probably led to the unusual amount of equines (and some exceptions, species-wise ) in the cartoon being cute to me, just because they're highly intelligent, talking animals.
  15. I'm retiring for the day. It's gonna suck sleeping in the same room where a corpse is located (Calm down, I'm not a psycho! I was making a joke about my unfortunate desktop situation.) I've gotta wake up early tomorrow, and deal with yet another exam ( what a surprise..); it's from an easier college course, but that still doesn't prevent me from despising it's mere existence. I can't wait to come back and chat again, though. I'll see ya'll tomorrow...

    Ash

Nice OC! Also, he sounds really ruthless (this isn't bad at all, by the way)! If you don't mind me asking, is there at least ONE being in Equestria that Ash has affection or even a teeny bit of respect for? I'm just interested.
  17. While Palicoes are cute and helpful, I'd love for an option to choose canine allies in future Monster Hunter games. Maybe at least one of Capcom's employees are a Brony, and might see this post! C'mon! Just imagine the many possible heart-wrenchlngly adorable quotes with doggie puns! XD "Whaddya mean I'm all bark and no bite?" "Master, save me! I've woofed down more than I can chew!" "I'd love to help you slay that monster, but I'm occupied with chasing this herd of Kelbi at the moment!" (no puns here, but it could be a retreat quote.) "There's this thing stuck on my rear that won't go away! It moves too quickly every time I try to remove it! I'm gonna get rid of it eventually; you'll see!" (Mandatory chasing tail quote. This ISN'T optional! XD)
  18. I like your OC! About his evil conscious, I wanted to mention that my OC has something similar; I wouldn't describe him as "completely evil", though. I wanted to mention this, because I don't want to look like a copycat; I made my OC before I even knew about this page. Great work, though!
  19. My over 5 year old desktop is acting really strange. It just keeps locking up! I'm running system restore now, at the moment. I've experienced a lot with that old timer, and I really hope that this doesn't mean that its time is almost up! It might be a Frankenstein's monster with old and new parts combined for gaming, but it's MY Frankenstein's monster. :(

Heh, thanks. I deleted the extra post.

Can you tell me what parts of my feedback were odd or unclear? I'm more than happy to explain them. Just send me a PM :)

  20. Wow at that last picture! I really feel sorry for any pony within a 100 mile radius of where those two fillies are fighting!
  21. Oh, thanks for telling me. I need to work on my insight; that's two slip ups that I've made within a few minutes! Mario Kart 8 is a tough game to be above average at, in my opinion. The blue shell still haunts me, today! Who's idea was it to give that thing wings, AND cause an explosion? Anyway, you clearly have skills since you're great at that game.
  22. Update: just hunted my first Basarios. That thing is a winged fortress! I should probably use only impact weapons when hunting it. I wonder how its armor set is. Ha! That's the first time I saw that gif, and I love it already! A switchaxe, mega dash juice and a toppled monster is a perfect combination in my eyes. You're not on G rank, yet? My mistake; you sounded like a G Ranker. I might have got your MH3U and MH4U progress mixed up. I still have catching up to do with nearly everyone in this thread, though. Hunting together with the people here seems miles more appealing than trying my luck with randoms.
  23. I respect that. One of the reasons I love Monster Hunter is how every hunter has their own style and tactical preferences. I'd like to hunt with ya and see your best switchaxe in action, but I assume you're far into G rank. I'm not even done with a third of offline low rank!
  24. Another day, another awesome afternoon of hunting! I'm postponing my quest for the Barroth armor set, for the sake of my sanity. I love blocking! XD It just makes you feel badass when you stand firm from a hit that would send anyone else flying. This is pretty much related to my love for tanking in RPGs. I love that guard points exist on the charge blade, but I can't master the timing at all!
  25. Awesome. It was common to fight Sabre online during season 1, but I don't see much of him anymore on ranked matches. At least he's a unique pick, then! I'd say the same about Thunder; too many people avoid giving the big lug a chance, because of his slow movement speed. The absurd amount of damage he can do with a fully leveled damage ender makes up for this.
