  1. Zelda Four Swords: Anniversary Edition and ICO/Shadow of the Colossus. I'm trying to get the trophy for beating ICO in under 2 hours.

I STILL  haven't beat ICO- heck, I'm stuck on it! But I beat SotC twice and I'm on a Hard Mode play.through now.

Also, Fallout 3 (CAN'T WAIT FOR FO4!! They announced it on my birthday <3)

and "Mushroom Gardening Kit" from Touch Detective. fun idle gaming, haha

  2. I never really took a liking to Fluttershy. I particularly don't like her so much now because she's come SO far out of her shell that her personality is pretty neutral compared to when the show started.

I don't think she's much shy these days

  3. I mean honestly...

I can see them taking EG to so much of a higher level if they'd make the quality of story, as well as the music, as good as the stuff in the show. For me thus far, I've felt rather underwhelmed by the movies because they don't really seem to embody what I know FiM to be.

So yaeh, if they can make EG3 feel more like the show (that is, to stray away from the OVERLY generic high school theme and OVERLY generic songs), it'll really be a good watch.

  4. I think the show is getting better; it's increasing in scope and demographic, an they're willing to take bigger risks on stories.

One thing I *desperately* miss right now though is that Season 1-3 feeling of the Mane 6 being just a group of friends getting close together and learning to be better individuals. It was just so simple and unassuming. Not that the later seasons get overwhelming or something, but the show is headed in a way that seeks to be bigger than the Mane 6 alone.

That gives me good hope for high-quality stories in the future, but also makes me sorta sad and reminiscent. It's certainly NOT deteriorating, though, just changing.

  5. I would assume hatred is normal...

But honestly hatred is a super-strong emotion/condition that I imagine we haven't really *needed* to see in the show yet.

So I just think they don't show it or write it in because it's not useful or necessary for their plots or characters.

  6. Just saw the Amazing Spiderman two (I know, a year or more late, but still)

    That MIDDLE section, actually

    Idk... repulsive

    Geez, just KILL EVERYONE, yeah

At least they'll be able to reboot the series in the Captain America universe this way.. I mean, all of the important people are dead so

    yeah

On another note, I hope the reboot is actually better. I like the first Amazing Spodermang but the sequel was just, eh.

  7. I really want to see the humane 5 struggle with human things, like Rainbow Dash preparing for a driver's exam, Rarity getting a zit, or Fluttershy freaking out over an oral presentation, lol.

I can see why that'd be an interesting break from the "normal" pony world, but then I think it might actually get a bit more on the -boring- side. I think the big thing I want to see is for the writing to feel less like an 'extended advertisement' with pretty mediocre story, awful lyrics (and just generally pretty bad pop music)- the movies just don't seem to match the quality of the show.

For myself as a viewer, I'll be hooked a lot more if they write it more like a season premiere/finale rather than a really, really long commercial.

  8. I think so.

In a different light than that of actual plot analysis: They seem to tend towards a sort of "cookie cutter" formulated script that aims at little girls predominately... or at least that's how I see it. I thus far haven't been overly impressed with the quality of stores in the EG movies... hopefully this upcoming one changes my mind on that (although I suspect it won't).

I haven't paid enough attention to the plots, especially the second of the two

  9. btw peeps, regular ponies are not hot and it's obvios, but a whole bunch of the things the fandom do are infact attractive, humanized or not, but you still are gonna deny it, because you respect the characters to much for you to downgrade them like that

This right here... I think I respect their personalities far too much to 'sexualize' them. lol, sexualizing cartoon ponies.

I do know that if I see a female whom I find attractive, I might "fantasize" on her until I get to know her, upon which my mind shifts her over to being a "full person". It's really objective, and honestly I wanna break from that mindset, really.

  10. No, you are right. It does seem that way. It defiantly feels like Dash is way closer with Twi, Pie, Shy, and AJ than with Rarity. That's why an episode with them feels missing. Maybe it would be hard to do without feeling like a redux of AJ and Rarity.

I re-watched Sonic Rainboom and I think for me that episode doesn't *do* it as a Rainbow/Rarity- it's very Rainbow-centric (I hope that doesn't become my new catch phrase).

I almost want to see one where Rarity is, for example designing something ONLY for Rainbow and some sort of conflict arises that challenges both RD's loyalty and Rarity's generosity.

Hopefully they haven't stopped the flow of 'growth episodes' for the Mane 6 (eg "Tanks for the Memories") because Rarity and Rainbow Dash are the two characters who I wouldn't say are fully THERE yet. There's always more to learn but I feel these two are a bit behind still.

  11. Use half-sheets of paper and draw by hand.

Not kidding- I did this once and while it's sort of time-consuming, I think it's a good alternative to using expensive or difficult computer-based tools.

Others will have better solutions, though. Good luck!!

  12. Okay, I am having a seriously difficult time with this. I've HEARD the voice of Gummy's inner monologue before, but I just can't place it. Did anyone catch it from the credits of anything?

It's just seriously bothering me, because that was, in my opinion, one of the funniest moments in MLP thus far, when Gummy got his inner-thoughts monologue, and I just GOTTA know whose voice that is.

I feel like I've heard his voice in Fallout 3, or on a commercial or something....

  13. "Sonic Rainboom" was exactly that. Rarity was so distraught at the thought of her friend Rainbow Dash having to go and compete with Fluttershys weak ass cheering that she not only insisted that Twilight figure out a way to get her there, but volunteers to be the guinea pig for an untried spell. Later, when Rarity tries to upstage her, Dash dose'nt even care. And she is more happy that she rescued her friend than the fact that she did a sonic rainboom.

But that was all the way back in saeaon one. And I would still like to see an episode with just those two on an adventure to expand on that (kinda like Pinkie and Dash in (Lost Treasure of Griffonstone).

And back to the OP, as others have said, a Celistia and Luna episode is long overdue. As is Starswirl being in an actual episode. A flashback with the two sisters and Starswirl is the biggest "missing episode opportunity" that I would like to see reconciled.

You're right, completely forgot that one. I just need ONE more... One that's not so "Rainbow-dynamic". I feel like in reality Rainbiw doesn't really like Rarity and she just doesn't voice it to keep peace...

    But I'm probably wrong again

  14. It's been 5 seasons and tons of comics, yet we still have yet to get a Rainbow Dash and Rarity episode, despite having tons of story potential.

Also we still have yet to get a Celestia episode too

BOTH of those surprise me. I'd love to see a Rainbow/Rarity episode because we really don't get to see at all how the two of them interact as friends thus far.

Celestia also is thankfully being depicted as less of "Equestria's Mom" and she's moving more into showing her "normal pony" side to the viewers. I think an episode for her would be awesome, especially one that showed Star Swirl.

  15. the show is designed to entertain everyone who watches it. Both its "target audience" and Bronies. Which is why there's elements of what Bronies want amongst the storytelling. The entire series in itself is a love letter to both audiences who enjoy the ponies through storytelling and art. This 100th episode was just more of a love letter to the Bronies who originally made the backgrouns ponies come to life, on their own efforts and fanworks. The Bronies are no less a target audience than the 5-13whatever year olds, because MLP is a family show that anyone of all ages can get into. That's their audience- anyone who enjoys the show. No limited age range.

families consist of more than just children, and children could also include those who are children at heart- as many of the Bronies are. There's no line between "target audiences" here.

Alright, I'll agree with that... I honestly think we're talking about two different things here, but I don't mean to debate on it

  16. "MLP isn't about the fandom"

what? WHAT? Ok, um, first of all.....WHAT?!

MLP's been about the fandom since the very beginning. Gen 4's whole existence is built upon the fandom of past gens of little ponies. Like Lauren Faust, who was a fan of them, herself. The reason the current generation of the show continues to exist is due to its insane popularity amongst the fandom of MLP. Not just the Brony fandom, but the "target audience" fandom as well. So to say that MLP isn't about the fandom is absolute bull. The fandom is who the entire show was built off of, for, and aimed at.

Sorry Nightmare Muffin, I think you maybe misunderstood me. I meant fandom as in JUST the bronies... I mean of course, the target audience is a 'fandom', but bronies are NOT naturally the target audience for this show (or at least, it wasn't at the start. They're coming around but they're not here yet, even with the latest episode).

I'm saying that the show is designed to cater towards it's true target audience- families/children/etc rather than to us bronies, who are more of a side-effect of the existence of the show in its current state.

So they have a show to run, and they have a target audience that happens to NOT be this fandom. Argue away that bronies are the target audience, but at the end of the day I just don't think that's the case.

  17. I kinda like SOME of his episodes but they tend to feel slow and never really explore any part of Spike that interests me.

I think the one where they're at the Equestria Games was kinda cool... I enjoyed the one with Rarity and the Diamond Dogs... I have a vague interest in the one with Rarity and the inspiration book

But then those might not be called Spike episodes...

I dunno! He makes a great wingman but I feel he's far too established for what he is for the writers to really do anything with his character development

  18. I still don't care much for a few episodes...

The breezies episode I watched for a second time, and while I understood the legitimate conflict, I'm not a big Fluttershy fan, I feel like Fluttershy is prone to making a huge deal out of things like these and this episode just didn't feel to me like it meant anything.

I also have some trouble fumbling through first season episodes because they hadn't established the 'family programming' approach to the show yet. Not that I really hate them, they're just odd to watch now because it feels like going to a time where everything was just trying to settle properly.

NO CLUE what I'd call the WORST episode beyond the one in paragraph 1
