I remember a fanfic that said that Alicorns come in pairs, one good & one evil. Celestia & Luna, Cadence & Queen Chrysalis. Twilight & Flurryheart. You make Twilight the GOOD one despite

She used dark magic to help kill Sombra (Sure, technically he was already dead, but...)

She murdered the Pinkie clones because they were annoying (Sure, she SAID they were no more alive than reflections in a mirror, but...)

She mind controlled an  entire town & caused a riot because a report was late (Sure, no great harm was done, but...)

All Flurryheart did to become the evil one was to "accidentally" blow a few holes in the palace while trying to commit murder & "inadvertently" destroy the Crystal Heart

    Twilight certainly has sanity issues.

  2. If Twilight lived in the local public library, does mean she had Random people walking around her house looking for books to check out all day? Was she the librarian when she lived in the library? Or did the actual librarian have keys and just let herself in every morning?
    So many privacy concerns!

Starlight Glimmer, for the same reason that has already been stated before. She actually did destroy Equestria, multiple times. If Twilight was not able to reform her, Equestria would've been gone by now.

What is like to think is this is why the elements of Harmony needed to act on the mane 6. Starlight was on the path of destroying the world when the cutie mark map stopped, and eventually saved her. What it yet mane 6 we're all unknowingly in this path when the elements chose them, and that the elements chose them in order to rewrite history to prevent the apocolypses they would cause. Instead it found a way to use them to save Equestria.

  4. Considering the show is made for 7 year old girls, I wouldn't really consider it an imbalance. It's just marketing to those that the show was made for. Boy shows sometimes are "imbalanced" the other way. Though I will give you the imbalance is usually less extreme than shown in MLP:FIM. but that's how modern feminism works, overcompensating for things that haven't really been an issue in years.

Somehow I doubt this. The association between Dr Hooves and Dr Who is fan made and only lightly nodded to in Slice of Life. I doubt the writers see the two characters as one and the same.

Also, considering how gender imbalanced the show already is, I would consider changing a male character into a female one to be a bad move, even for a background character.

  5. My problem with this episode is Trixie didn't really do anything wrong. She was just a traveling performer who exaggerated her backstory like they pretty much all do. The mane six showed their dark side in this one as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad Trixie came back in newer episodes and was redeemed by starlight's friendship.

  6. This is just my opinion, but, Season 1 is my favorite because of slice of life.and is also why Im fond of season 2-3.  Adventure episodes belong only as the very first and last episodes of a season to set up and conclude that season's over arching story/ theme. But having slice of life leave ponyville would be interesting. Like Maybe have them visit mutual friends in different areas to let us see new lands. Like how they visited appleloosa and learned about the native equestrians. (The Buffalo if you didn't get my reference)

  7. Christian. I'm conservative, but I also believe people have the constitutional right to other beliefs. That being said, I still believe Jesus is the only true path to Heaven.

I suppose agnostic would be my label. Truthfully I've always kind of wanted to be part of a religion for several reasons but it's difficult for me to embrace god after growing up in an atheist environment.

A lot of it is about what Church you attend. Every Church is different and some people do better in certain Churches over others.

Trixie is far better now than when she first appeared, mainly because I felt that she was simply a cliche early on. Just some typical 'arrogant' character, even though besides that she didn't exactly do any harm. Now, she actually have traits, a personality. Having her be friends with Starlight has not only made me like Trixie more, but Starlight as well since they have a good connection with each other. They need to keep that going strong.

  9. Aw. I never thought it went too far

People calling it Scootabuse or Spike being a mistreated slave or such. May or may not have had an effect on it.

Well, I was only sarcastically poking fun, in reality I don't have any problem if you like that kind of thing. Besides, sometimes pony abuse in the show can be funny if the character in question actually deserves it.

Sometimes the funniest is when they don't deserve it

When I first saw Boast Busters it seemed to me that the mane 5 who were at her show knew her already (because of previous tours?) and were there just to bitch about her show while she was performing. No one does that if they don't have a history.

Then when Trixie finishes and challenges them, they tried doing it putting up a (better?) show, but she just answered performing tricks that abused the three ponies that took the challenge. Here's when I was convinced about an untold history between Trixie and at least 3 of the mane 5.

Having that as my headcanon, it seems that the mane 5 and ponyville in general did not act different than on previous Trixie's tours, what change at that time was that 2 ponies took Trixie's bragging too far, Trixie went from town to town claiming how she defeated an Ursa Major for marketing purposes. She was exposed to be a fraud and that's what ruined her career. It was her own false claim what backfired, not the mane 5's or ponyville's attitude towards Trixie.

So... I also think Trixie was not that bad back then just had a sort of feud with the mane 5, but she was definitely the cause of her own fall.

Every performer embellishes their story. Snips and Snails should have has the common sense to to go chasing after an Ursa, it's not Trixie's fault they didn't use common sense.

  11. All shows get more serious as they age. It's a natural process as they draw nearer to the climax of the story. Personalities change as characters gain experience and grow more aware of the suffering in the world, or experience suffering themselves. Enemies become stronger as the slowly wipe out the weaker enemies. Characters grow weary because of their struggles. It's really all just a part of the show growing up with it's audience.
