  1. Starlight feels to me like a completely filler character who brings no depth or literally anything to the series in regard to her character.

Say what you will about Sunset but at least she took steps on her own to become a better person and didn't need Twilight constantly telling her what to do. Can you imagine how bad it would've been if Twilight constantly had to tell Sunset how to redeem herself?

Starlight is almost kinda like a worthless parasite.

  2. Best Villain Overall: Tirek. Powerful, was a threat that had a purpose. Manipulative and ultimately very smart until he got hit by the idiot ball at the end.

Best villain plot/concept: King Sombra. Pretty much his only redeeming quality. Starlight would've been here but at least Sombra had a resolution.

Worst Villain: Starlight Glimmer. Is the first filler villain in the series and has zero impact as a villain as any of her villainous actions mean nothing in the end. When you have less worth than Sombra as a villain something's wrong.

Most Overrated Villain: Starlight Glimmer. Not certain how a villain whose actions are worthless to the entire series in general is "good". At best she's entertainment and that's it.

  3. Quite frankly I'm more disturbed she used a psychological attack to be friends with Starlight. Yeah the suicide implications are there but if Trixie was infact faking then that means she was psychologoverly attacking Starlight into being her friend.

That's a horrible way to start a friendship and is something you see in abusive relationships. Just ughhhh.

  4. I find reformed Glimmer ridiculously boring and a chore to watch. She was so much more interested as a villain well in The Cutie Map anyways.

Her redemption honestly feels like they're trying to recapture Shimmers success but completely failing to understand why that worked the way it did.

As it stands now the way they're treating Glimmer after her reformation is almost kinda disgusting.

  5. Quite frankly I question why people think Trixie going with a half arsed apology justifies Twilight not trusting her.

Glimmer didn't even apologize yet Twilight trusts her utterly to the point it's ridiculous.

    This point is completely moot.

Also I'm going to hate it if Trixie's comics will be non canon because of this episode. I don't want her actual reforming moments to come from trash like Glimmer.

  6. The chances of it being Sunset is utter zero. There is no way they would waste it on one episode. Not only that but it would make Twilight look flat out horrible. Any logical reason of this episode including Sunset is zero.

Trixie is the most logical reason though.

Only other person I can think of is some random person.

  7. hey, don't forget that Radiant was destined to become a princess too according to the comics ;) >.< XD

By comic logic all you need is strong magic and you're going to be made a princess (As bad as that logic was)

If I remember correctly wasn't she all about saying fuck that to her destiny anyways?

Anyways by Show logic or comic logic apparently all you need to do is make new magic lol XD.

  8. Just as I was afraid what would happen. They literally destroyed Starlight's character. There is literally none of her there except for the same name. They even pull some bullshit about how she stole Cutie Marks ignoring how the villagers offered her their Cutie Marks. I can't believe they took out the biggest chunk and that had the most story telling potential just to make her appealing.

Honestly this new Starlit might as well be a new character.

  9. Three Celestia moments:

    • The Crystal Empire: A kingdom is revived, and there's a brooding evil waiting to eat it up. She assigns Twilight to protect the empire from him. Why? As a "test."

      To quote my rant:

I hate TCE the most just for this, and the Twilicorn arc completely died thanks to this "reason."

    • Twilight's Kingdom demonstrated some of the worst leadership skills I've ever seen in a cartoon.

      a. When Tirek is revived, she summons Discord to follow him while having ZERO backup plan.

      b. Why did the AliTrio decide to donate their magic to Twilight? Because they believe Tirek doesn't know that a fourth alicorn exists.

      ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Discord allied himself with one of the worst villains in all of Equestria. For all they know, Discord already told him Twilight exists. And to make it worse, they warn Twilight NOT to tell her friends. The only reason this harebrained logic exists is to make Twilight look better and pit her alone against Tirek.

Of all the two-parters that force Twilight to fend for herself, Twilight's Kingdom and TCE execute it the worst.

Actually thinking about it now didn't Twilight ignore her lesson from The Crystal Empire in Twilight's Kingdom?

  10. The Cutie Remark: That wasteland scene. Besides confirming the fact that Starlight is a villain sue it has loads of Unfortunate Implications when you think about it like the world being utterly dependent on the Mane 6. Combine this with Starlight Glimmer's redemption and it probably killed it faster than her backstory.

I might not speak for everyone here but when I see Starlight showing remorse or having nightmares about what she's done I would not want to be reminded of this scene. She has the type of remorse which will make you despise her.

  11. At this point, I wouldn't put that down as a "maybe", more like a "Will be". She's the FIM equivilent to sunset and S6 is going to be shilling her hard.

I'd like to not think she's not replacing Sunset :V. At least Sunsets personality is consistent. Glimmer is running shades of different kinds of characters at once like the writers couldn't decide on what personality to give her.

  12. Quite frankly I was hoping she'd go back to her village and permanently disappear like forever. Unfortunately judging by the synopsis we'll going to be seeing her alot so we got a villain Sue that's most likely going to be appearing alot.

Isn't that just great!?? Now the show will be infected by what is an embodiment of a bad OC and not only that but she might even be a main cast member. It's already enough her existence is unjustified and she's the only villain that's mindless entertainment but now we'll have to see that contrived personality again. My little hope I have is that due to Sunburst appearing this might conclude her story but I don't have high hopes for that.

  13. Oh joy. Little miss bad OC is returning. Let's see what other asspulls and contrivances can pop out of her character this time. They can't out beat the The Cutie Remark in terms of bullshit.

Speaking of which I find it very odd that they are cramming her development with Sunburst in literally one episode like a sub plot. Regardless of how shit of a character she is this should've been it's own episode.

  14. Technically what a Mary Sue is is a character with no challenges. When any character is created you should ask yourself if the character has any challenges before actually creating the flaws. If they do have challenges then chances are they are flawed.

You can created the most overpowered special Oc ever and if that character actually has a challenge then they'd be considered a more legit character than a completely normal character with no challenges whatsoever.
