Reprise

Poetry, huh! My absolute favorite is "Walking Around" by Pablo Neruda, as translated by WS Merwin. It happens that I am tired of being a man. It happens that I go into the tailor's shops and the movies all shriveled up, impenetrable, like a felt swan navigating on a water of origin and ash. The smell of barber shops makes me sob out loud. I want nothing but the repose either of stone or of wool. I want to see no more establishments, no more gardens, nor merchandise, nor glasses, nor elevators. It happens that I am tired of my feet and my nails and my hair and my shadow. It happens that I am tired of being a man. Just the same it would be delicious to scare a notary with a cut lily or knock a nun stone dead with one blow of an ear. It would be beautiful to go through the streets with a green knife shouting until I died of cold. I do not want to go on being a root in the dark, hesitating, stretched out, shivering with dreams, downwards, in the wet tripe of the earth, soaking it up and thinking, eating every day. I do not want to be the inheritor of so many misfortunes. I do not want to continue as a root and as a tomb, as a solitary tunnel, as a cellar full of corpses, stiff with cold, dying with pain. For this reason Monday burns like oil at the sight of me arriving with my jail-face, and it howls in passing like a wounded wheel, and its footsteps towards nightfall are filled with hot blood. And it shoves me along to certain corners, to certain damp houses, to hospitals where the bones come out of the windows, to certain cobbler's shops smelling of vinegar, to streets horrendous as crevices. There are birds the colour of sulphur, and horrible intestines hanging from the doors of the houses which I hate, there are forgotten sets of teeth in a coffee-pot, there are mirrors which should have wept with shame and horror, there are umbrellas all over the place, and poisons, and navels. I stride along with calm, with eyes, with shoes, with fury, with forgetfuless, I pass, I cross offices and stores full of orthopedic appliances, and courtyards hung with clothes on wires, underpants, towels and shirts which weep slow dirty tears.

The first: I am extremely tall at 6'7"! The second: I used to be a pro wrestler. The third: I am trans and currently in the process of turning into a lady. WHEE!

Undertale, because I am sometimes a butt about things like a game or a movie getting too much hype. There's no way it can possibly live up to it for me.

My biggest problem with the current commentary team is that they actively detract from the matches. You'll have them bickering about the Kardashians in the middle of a midcard match instead of trying to build up either of the wrestlers involved or the stories around them. It's like watching a couple of bored friends try to MST3K the show.

I am a big fan of Monsoon and Heenan. Bobby Heenan will always be the best talker in the business, as far as my vote goes. "WILL YOU STOP?"

Oh! Another one I thought of. When you have a perfect headshot lined up on someone as a sniper and an invisible spy runs right into your shot. Annoying for both the sniper and the spy!

Man, it is getting harder and harder to keep from trying to schedule time off for BABSCon. Nice to meet you! (And everyone else!)

I added "can be" to cover for those ridiculous situations where one dude with a Phlog can pin an entire team into their spawn.

I'm local to the area and already help run a different con in San Jose. It would be an easy hop to peek in. I'll probably have to!

I'm pretty much just in it for the community. I'm really into music, so I have some little tiny aspirations of maybe getting into that scene.

I really know that feeling. I've kind of held myself back for a while, especially since a lot of my energy has been going into a different fandom. I'm feeling really burned out on that though, after helping run conventions and fan sites, etc, but rarely coming away feeling like I'm even a part of the community. I decided to pop in this week, looking for a better fit. I'm also seriously considering going to BABSCon here in the Bay.

I grew up around the first gen toys, so I was kind of a fan to begin with. When FiM first came out, I initially snubbed it because it was "different" visually. Friends luckily got me to look into it, and the rest is pony-adoring history.

Eee! It is awesome seeing so many of you pop up. It's definitely helping with me feeling more at home. Thaaank you. I am still super newbie and tryin' to figure out where everything goes. I'll get the hang of it at some point, I promise.
