After some checking....I believe I can safely say that the Equestrians are omnivores. My proof? Well, for starters, we have the fact that they eat eggs, and unless I'm mistaken eggs are considered meat. Secondly, we have what looks like a deli-meat sandwich in the episode A Bird in the Hoof. We have also seen (at least once to my knowledge, though I could be wrong) a set of sharp teeth (Canine teeth, incisors, whatever you call them). But more importantly, I just recalled something from the episode Fall Weather Friends, or rather, two somethings. The first, though not what really got me thinking about this, is that AJ says that Rainbow Dash is "trussed up like a turkey" after she ties her wings. I cannot think of any reason other than cooking a turkey that one would need to truss up a turkey, though if anyone can enlighten me on a reason that doesn't involve cooking please do so. The main thing that got me really thinking this though was a comment from good ol Pinkie while she was commentating. Its possible (though very slim in my mind) that it was some sort of weird 4th wall breaking slip up, but since Spike didn't seem completely confused by what she said, (more like he was getting to much of an overdose of being near Pinkie being Pinkie in my mind, she can be the embodiment of the Chewbacca Defense after all) I have to think that this does indeed imply that the ponies eat meat. What exactly is it that spirred this reignition of such a thought in my brain? This line. Pinkie Pie: I'm not sure how ketchup is going to help her in this contest. Now, in a hot dog eating contest it can make them doggies nice and slippery, but personally I prefer mustard. How about you, Spike? This line makes me have to stop and ask, how in tartarus's name would a species of herbivores know about hot dogs (thus the reason I implied the slim possibility of it being a case of 4th wall breakage)? It made no sense to me, because I find the idea of them coming up with vegetarian hot dogs without having meat-based hot dogs, not to mention calling them the same thing, to be within the realm of ASB (this, while talking about a show where there actually is an ASB sitting around ) So, from that piece of information and other tiny things (I'm sure if I go hunting I can find more) I have determined, in my head canon at least, that the Ponies of Equestria are definitively omnivores. Obviously, as I would like to assume we wouldn't, they don't eat anything sentient (and I could theoretically see Fluttershy being a vegetarian for the most part) but overall, they are omnivores just like us, only with a slimmer selection of what they are willing to eat. I felt like sharing this weird/random rant on a possible fact of Equestria with you all. I am interested in your own thoughts on this.

This is basically my viewpoint. It probably doesn't help that with her being in a rich family, they probably have servants who are supposed to cater to her every whim (within reason obviously), especially when her parents aren't there. If they ever actually do an episode meant to redeem DT and they show that the above and below is basically why she acts as she does, then that would be awesome. Of course, if they never reveal more about her, then we're left to wonder. The bullying bit is something I think is true. It ties into my own theory that she was made fun of a lot at some sort of private school, which she later left and was placed in the ponyville school. Heck, considering how she acts during the Cutie Mark episode, I'd wager she was probably made fun of a lot for being a blank flank.

I've got a theory, but it revolves around what her mother theoretically does. My theory is that her mother is some sort of designer (something like rarity) only she designs jewelry. Her mother encourage her to try her hooves at it, and after some messing up, she finally produced something with her mothers help, the tiara she wears. Thinking that this meant she was supposed to be just like her mother, she tried making other pieces of jewelry...with little to no success. Tiara's and crowns however, she was good at making. So in other words, the only thing she could reliably make were tiara's/crowns. Its part of where I get the idea of why she hates blank flanks. While she's stuck with just one skill, blank flanks could have almost any special talent. This theory is also applied to Silver Spoon, with the only difference being that if it weren't for DT's influence, it wouldn't really bother her.

Actually, if I recall correctly, Granny Smith asked Filthy to do that...okay, not exactly sure, to be honest. I would assume that she had asked him to do so (or he's helped in the past) [gong crashing] Granny Smith: Uh, thank you kindly, Filthy! As an aside, few people are bullies for no reason other than being a bully. Their is usually a reason to explain why someone is a bully. It should also be noted, Filthy does discipline Tiara at the end of the episode by having her help with making the Zap apple jam, so he doesn't seem so bad. In fact, thinking about it...he's the owner of a big corporation of retail stores (le gasp! He's the pony version of Sam Walton o_0), which likely means he's often very busy. Depending on whether or not her mom is still around, and depending on what it is she does, she may not be around either. Wonder if that could have an influence on why Tiara acts as she does....

So, I was wondering, what do some of you think the backstory is of Diamond Tiara? Does anyone have any theories on why she acts as she does (other than the "she's a royal b**** line)? Considering how much depth so many of the characters in the show have been given, it seems likely that there's reasons for why she's mean to everyone. A theory I have is that originally, her family lived in Canterlot, and in her early days she was bullied by the children of the Unicorn nobility there, (because while she was the child of someone rich, she wasn't of noble blood) or some such, and that when they eventually moved to Ponyville, she brought along with her the memories of being bullied, and decided that rather than be bullied, she would bully others. Any thoughts anybrony?

Thanks to an image (that I have no idea where its hiding) I once had an idea that when Luna turned into Nightmare Moon and challanged Celestia, she managed to convert the nomadic human warrior tribes from worshipping Celestia to worship her, and they sided with her in her war against the goddess of the sun.

I am of the opinion that we would indeed be like this, though depending on tech level, we might have a sort of respectable tolerance of the ponies thanks to their magic (especially if humans don't have access to magic) Especially of Celestia and Luna. This made me laugh, despite the fact that I don't think humans would be like that in Equestria (though ya never know) I had a similar story idea to this, though the idea was that Equestria was Earth, years and years and years after a nuclear war nearly destroyed humanity (save for some that managed to put themselves in a cryostasis in deep underground bunkers) The idea was that the Diamond Dogs would accidentally stumble upon one such bunker, and Humans would return to the world of the waking and discover what had happened to their world. Their would then be some who sought to live in peace with the other creatures, while others would seek to restore all of Earth to human control. I really need to work on that idea. Not necessarily isolationist villages...we just would leave the ponies alone and stick to harming each other

Hmm...an interesting premise, though what Pinkie would have described, wouldn't that have not at all been like to humans Celestia remembers?
